In some cultures, even hair on the ground is sacred. For instance, I was taking my hair down at work and one of the maintenance people was from a middle eastern culture. When he saw some of my hair on the floor around my desk, he gingerly picked it up, handled it with care and placed it in a separate garbage bag - not with the rest of the trash. Mind you, it wasn’t even my own hair (it was braid hair) but he had no idea. It’s very important to learn about other country’s cultures and get our heads out of our azzes.

I’ve been to Dubai 3x for business purposes. Minor correction for Al: You can drink as long as the establishment where you are drinking is attached to a hotel. Dubai is actually one of the more relaxed areas in the Middle East as they thrive on tourism so if they arrested her for screaming…she was straight HOLLERING. I HAD a BFF and we've gone through this a few times. The 1st time (87-88) I stupidly set my feelings to the side so she could get with the guy that liked me. Me and the guy started talking while he was with my friend, she found out and unfriended me. The 2nd time (2011-12)) was when her daughter was having serious mystery illnesses, she didn't want to talk on the phone and I didn't want to text so she cut me off for a year. The third and LAST TIME was in 2018 she felt I wasn't supportive about her dream of quitting her job AGAIN to lease a business space. I've never succeeded more and been more at peace in my life. I won't befriend anyone that wants to control our relationship by their standards, if it's not a mutual I'm good without it.

In some cultures, even hair on the ground is sacred. For instance, I was taking my hair down at work and one of the maintenance people was from a middle eastern culture. When he saw some of my hair on the floor around my desk, he gingerly picked it up, handled it with care and placed it in a separate garbage bag - not with the rest of the trash. Mind you, it wasn’t even my own hair (it was braid hair) but he had no idea. It’s very important to learn about other country’s cultures and get our heads out of our azzes.

I’ve been to Dubai 3x for business purposes. Minor correction for Al: You can drink as long as the establishment where you are drinking is attached to a hotel. But, you absolutely can’t appear inebriated. That woman went wrong by thinking she act like she does in the U.S. when frustrated….you can not. Dubai is actually one of the more relaxed areas in the Middle East as they thrive on tourism so if they arrested her for screaming…she was straight HOLLERING. You can’t bring that same U.S. entitled “I’m right. Who do you think you are talking to” energy over there. Gotta suppress that and if you can’t, just don’t go.

Absolutely, I remember a girl in H.S. who was kidnapped by some guys from her neighborhood who raped her and shot her up with heroin, and then released her on the streets where she had to find her way home. She survived, but of course, was never mentally or physically the same ever again. 😶

I HAD a BFF and we've gone through this a few times. The 1st time (87-88) I stupidly set my feelings to the side so she could get with the guy that liked me. Me and the guy started talking while he was with my friend, she found out and unfriended me. The 2nd time (2011-12)) was when her daughter was having serious mystery illnesses, she didn't want to talk on the phone and I didn't want to text so she cut me off for a year. The third and LAST TIME was in 2018 she felt I wasn't supportive about her dream of quitting her job AGAIN to lease a business space. I've never succeeded more and been more at peace in my life. I won't befriend anyone that wants to control our relationship by their standards, if it's not a mutual I'm good without it.

I've found that when you give all you can to the friendships and it's not returned I refuse to try anymore this year has been a revealing and bringing it full circle year, and I'm definitely here for it. I thank God for showing me what I needed to see in certain people. I've moved on and I'm ok with it they are no longer apart of my life and I'm truly ok with it. That goes for family or friends I just cant give anymore time or foolishness to it
