It's not traumatizing it has a great amount of sawab to Muslims as well as in Islamic belief our god Allah keeps those animals in heaven and they wait for us and look the same as they did before getting slaughtered it is also amazing to be close to your animal as it shows how you will do anything for Allah so we shouldn't think of it as traumatizing but as something for Allah
