I like Impact Deflection and Double Barrel. Having those two together and the IFG really makes for a straightforward and aggressive Scout build. I use it on every mission whenever I'm not feeling "creative" with other Scout loadouts.

I use thermal exhaust feedback build for my Plasma Carbine. The heat is manageable with burst fire, maintaining the heat constantly above 50% to get the extra fire damage is pretty much free damage with no downsides.

Thermal Exhaust Feedback should never be built with the heat managing mod from 3rd column.
Having a slower cooling process will allow you to do combat grapples and flareshots in between TEF bursts and maintain high heat. If you take the cooling boost mod, you will most of the time reset to 0% heat when swapping to your other gear for quick utility. This means you will spend more time and ammo having to build up the heat again.
While it might seem like you would be able to do more bursts more often with faster cooling, it is not needed for most enemies. Having high utility APM as Scout is super important.

But you do lose on a lot of DPS, 154 without cooling vs 195 with cooling (assuming it's bursted perfectly). Besides, one burst is often not enough to light an enemy on fire, and if you fight grunts one would not be enough to light others, and to utilise the heat it radiates it's better to pepper the horde with a couple more bursts
Not to mention that you often fight more than one enemy, and for a scout deleting HVTs as fast as possible is a priority
Also, you lose more potential damage if you don't commit to the edging, because if you drop to 50% heat you still lose all of your heat damage

@@thenatron6136 The DPS loss is true. For multiple consecutive bursts, cooling is better. Unfortunately this is not how Scout plays in difficulties that punish you for not grappling.
One burst is definitely enough to light most things on fire. At least, most that Scout cares about. You should not be igniting grunt hordes as that will just burn your ammo quickly, meaning that you cant skip the first resupply.
Edging is not so simple as to keep applying bursts at the same interval constantly. Sometimes we have to take our attention away from the bugs, which might drop our heat more than we expected. Sacrificing some long term DPS for a more forgiving heat management is a trade most high level players will make.

I adore using Thermal Exhaust Feedback in my Industual Sabotage build. With the accuracy upgrade, it's extremely useful against turrets (especially sniper ones) and patrol bots. I combine it with Shaped Shells + White Phosphor boomstick to use it when my plasma gun is overheated. (Sometimes I manage to heatkill sniper turrets with this from afar and it's absolutely bonkers!) And I also add some IFG just coz this build really lacks crowd control.

Dude yes Shield Battery Booster is insanely good. The shield regen delay being reduced by 3.5 seconds means u only have to wait 1 second before your shield starts regenerating again. Plus the gun gets so many buffs that are all noticeably strong
