- The Winnipeg Jets came back from three goals down in the third period and Nikolaj Ehlers won it in overtime to take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers with a 5-4 win.

Moral of the story. A team of good players is better than 2 great players with a traveling side show.
It's hard to afford good players when one player takes up so much of the salary cap. Chose money over winning....

As a Leafs fan, seeing another team blow a 4-1 lead in the 3rd period of a playoff game is quite refreshing.

You are so correct, I think Ehler is what make the Jets roll. He gets injured and the Jets fold up like a cheap suitcase, He comes back for the play-offs, and the Jets look unbeatable.

@@michaeldilley2544 Really, I can't see that happening at all. Only four teams in NHL history have comeback from a 3-0 deficit. The chance the Oilers pull that off is miniscule. Also the Jets are a very well built team as proven by the fact they have a 3-0 lead. The Oilers essentially know that they are going to lose the series so probably won't try in game four, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets completed a sweep.

Watching at home in the 'peg. Our older son was saying after it was 4-1 "it's over. We're out. No way we can win this." All negative. I said "it's not over until the buzzer". Minutes later we start a comeback of fantastic highlight footage. 4-2. 4-3. 4-4. IS IT POSSIBLE? BOOM OVERTIME. Boom Ehlers nets a beauty of a shot. My kid was flabbergasted. Moral of the story:

THIS GAME WAS CRAZY. Our main guys decided to wake up and score when we needed it most. It could have gone better, but this was a great come from behind win. Hellebuyck once again in Vezina form. This is starting to give 2018 vibes.
I left at 2-0 thinking Oilers had it. Wow shocked to see Winnipeg won.

I can't describe how thrilled I am that the Jets have brought this excellent display of hockey to the Oilers. We've been listening all year to the noise surrounding the Oilers' season, it's a joy to experience the silence now. Keep bringing it, boys, it would be sweet to see the Jets finish this.

The core of the Jets team - Wheeler, Scheif, Ehlers, Connor, Morrissey, Hellebuyck, Stastny - were in the Conference Finals in 2018, so obviously not a bad team. Also unloaded a problematic player who doesn't want to move his feet (Laine) for a goos player with something to prove (Dubois). Obviously not a juggernaut team, but still way better than the Oilers.

I'm glad I got my Ehlers autographed jersey when I did, because that thing's definitely gone up in value.
To me the Jets are more built for the playoffs than the Oilers so I'm not surprised that they are winning this series they have more depth but really I didn't expect this series to be this one sided so far for sure, I'm very surprised even though I said all the things I just said.
But what a collapse this was! It's going to be very difficult for them to recover from this I'm assuming no doubt.
To me I felt shaky for Mike Smith because even though he played well, at some point I just felt he was going to decline and he did even though he was obviously the Oilers best player for the series so far.
There's not much of a difference between them. Had the Oilers scored in O.T = 2-1 instead of 3-0.
As a proud Albertan and Calgarian, I approve of this comeback.

Yes..yes we can on more than one occasion yeah. Heads are going to roll if the Oilers get swept say bye to Tippett, all the coaching staff and Ken Holland's GM seat will be hotter than Dante's Inferno if that's the case. This team can't give Mcdavid and Draisital any damn support, their defence is piss poor and they are relying upon an almost 40 year old goalie to take them to a cup when the goalies name isn't Martin Brodeur 🙄. This team is built very very wrong and yes I haven't been saying it in a nice way to Oilers stating that the Oilers are a 2 man team with AHL'ers around them but I'm being proven sort of right by their performance thus far.
Atleast the laffs can actually win a playoff game.

Playoffs are different than regular season. Doesn't matter what happened in the regular season or how bad a team finished down the stretch. Everything is reset to zero come playoff time. And the Jets seem to be better built for the playoffs than the regular season, with the Oilers being the opposite.
