Sick vid man, I'm pretty convinced on going with this setup. I was looking into adding a UEL header but without excessive noise and this sounds pretty spot on. Currently just running a muffler delete and always felt whatever about the loud cold starts, so can't wait to get rid of that along with stage 2!
i've seen a lot of these videos recently and something that really stands out is the front pipe and the overpipe - if you replace either of these with aftermarket variants, you cross the line from nice to noisy. not always, but i think headers and cat or axleback is where i'd draw the line, unless you want something a bit crazier.
great point for me i think this setup is perfect volume wise with headers and resonated front pipe. the q300 is really quiet by itself. probably would not recommend the same for someone running invidia n1 or similar. all down to personal preference though, im old so try to keep the volume reasonable lol
yes the headers are catless. you can leave the stock front pipe if you need for emissions. my setup is fully catless and still relatively quiet compared to other straight through setups
I know I am very late but I have been eyeing this combo for a bit and just have one main question. How loud is the cold start? is it waking up neighbors type loud? also with normal driving how loud is it, are you able to drive it relatively quiet?
I have an oft tune with the cold start turned down a bit so it doesnt rev as high. More deep than loud but the q300 really tames the volume in my opinion. this is a pretty modest setup with quiet idle. Still love how it sounds. If you want it quieter keep the catted front pipe or maybe run catted headers
do you have a catless front pipe? i have a UEL catless front pipe and q300 too. its a conservative muffler but still sounds good and deep no rasp at all unlike most with the n1's
No right now just the headers and catback. I do plan on going catless resonated front pipe. How are you liking the setup with the front pipe, is it worth it?
@@MidnightChaos ah its totally worth it, huge noticeable difference IMO but dont get a resonated one just a straight pipe. the resonated mid pipe with the q300 is plenty plus theres a ton of options at only a few hundred bucks
@@MidnightChaos God dammit. Having a hard time deciding between catted or uncatted, dont want it to be too loud. But cant find any vids with catted header
Really depends on your exhaust set up. I have the q300 which was really quiet before the header install and sounds perfect now, not too loud at all. If you have something like an invidia N1 the catless headers will be loud af
Yeah you should be good then.. just a matter of preference really its still a quiet setup even with the catless header. You can always quiet it down with a catted/resonated front pipe if needed
Getting the same set up with a dyno tune this Monday, plus Toemi over pipe and Invidia Front pipe. Glad you posted this video !
Dyno numbers?
I think im sold. I've been looking at both the Q300 and the R400. And this just seems to be the perfect sound level
Yeah it opens up once you have headers and front pipe, but its really quiet with just the catback. Overall good exhaust setup though
@@MidnightChaos what front pipe are you running. I have tomei uel, stock front pipe, stock midpipe and it’s way to quiet for me
Hks front pipe

its ok, i suffer from mad crickets too T_T
Crickets louder than the exhaust xD Whip sounds great still.
😭😭😭😂😂😂
Looking for a quieter exhaust set up, really liking this. Are your headers catless?

Sounds so good
any drone? getting this exhaust soon but I am catless UEL and high flow front pipe
No drone but had issues with the rivets on the exhaust tips with this catback. Sounds good now after fixing
This cb has no drone.
No drone, i have the same set up w Berk High Flow cat. Still pretty quiet tho
Hey my man! What year it’s your 86? I have a 2019 with Q300 and I’m wondering if the UEL Tomei will fit .
Yes it will fit. Mine is a 2014. The tomei headers are good for 2013 and up
@@MidnightChaos Thanks a lot bro!!!
would this setup be too loud in cali?

Right on ill have to do some looking. Does the front pipe add much volume with the q300? Which one do you have?
Those tail lights look amazing, can you please tell me where you got them from?
Try Vland
Valenti revo
Sounds like a wrx sti
It do 🤣
Its all because of the uel headers 🔥
Is the header catted or uncatted?
Uncatted
