Pretty sad that a talented musician like him can't form a new band that sounds awesome without having people complain with their nostalgic ego-trips. I mean give him a break. He might have made mistakes but he's still a solid player and performer. If it sounds like this, it's because it's his way of expression

I have no idea why CLM only lasted a few years and did only one album but the album was awesome and they were great live.

To me this is Thurston's best stuff in years. I'm not saying the last few SY albums sucked, because they didn't, but I really dig the Chelsea Light Moving abum a lot.

Showed up late to see these guys at Black Cat in DC with my drummer, stoned outta our gourds and managed to wander right up to the stage... So loud, you don't get the full gut busted effect over laptop speakers, shit hits the viscera right well

right, CLM was much tighter and focused then the new band. Really a shame but I think it has to do with Moore relocating to the UK.

This sounds so much like SY. And isn't that twin Jazzmaster guitars just like Thurston & Lee often played? And aren't there some clear echoes of specific SY songs here? Thankfully, the end of SY didn't mean Thurston would move off in quite different directions. If anything, CLM sounds like a return to the era of 20+ years ago when SY was doing more upbeat stuff, like on "Daydream Nation" & "Dirty" . To be honest, I'm not sure I'll miss hearing Kim's feeble screech all that much.
