I'm a retired Letter Carrier and delivered mail in Oregon for 35 years. We've had mail in ballots for 24 years. There's such simplicity in that. People can vote when they have time in their schedule and get it in the mail or drop box early. No stress. Recently the state has sent out prepaid postage envelopes. What a great deal! People don't even need a stamp. The only thing that might go wrong is if people forget to sign the back of the envelope. Plus we don't get an 'I Voted' sticker. These days we need every single opportunity available to vote. Everybody needs their voice heard - not just the yellers, screamers and whiners.
I agree, and so many people seem to forget that before Trump was elected, nobody was out there screaming about massive voter fraud and mail in ballots having all these problems and not being counted. Republicans act as if that’s been a chronic problem forever and it has just gotten worse, when in fact, multiple & reputable studies have shown there’s very little voter fraud overall. The way that the Republican party and Trump gaslights so much of America, particularly Fox News watchers is maddening.
They love the "I voted" sticker. Then they post selfies on social media. It's more of a bragging right for their personal egos than it is about bettering the country.
My California mail in ballot comes with a "I voted by mail" sticker

Let us not forget why it's so difficult to vote in person. The republican state legislatures close voting halls in the Districts they don't like, cut the opening hours etc. And then they're all shocked that their own impatient voters won't wait in line.
Not to mention the constant "it's all rigged" - which is nice to keep viewers glued to the TV hugging some guns, not so much to get them participate in the game they think is rigged against them.

It was designed to keep dems from voting early or by mail. They were hoping if they demonized it enough dems would be forced to stand in long lines on election days and not be able to vote for many different reasons. Like machines not working, water leaks causing locations to close, to many people at a voting location causing lines to be so long people leave instead of waiting 10 hrs in line. The fact that dems continued voting by mail or early voting to avoid those problems the Republicans realized they haven't been able to do anything about it so now they want their voters to take advantage of the process as well. They're just foul humans, nothing more. Older Republicans have been voting by mail for decades, they only made it an issue when dems started voting that way in record numbers.

Yes, I noticed that too. It's all a game to them. Meanwhile many voters have moved on and want addressed, real issues affecting real people. Many that used to be part of their base switched to independent looking for non-gamer options. Also, are they for real on mail in? Many people use drop boxes outside or inside county offices, not the post office. Not all "mail in" ballots go thru the actual mail. These FOX people are acting stupid or don't understand voters and voting.

In PA I get a email when my ballot has been counted. It is great! Last yr I forgot to sign the outside envelope. They contacted me and said I could come down and sign it.

My state has been mail-in since before I was old enough to vote. It is a great boon for me, a disabled person (who lives 10 miles from the nearest polling place). I find it disgusting that states ban this.
I only vote absentee. I only leave my apartment for medical reasons. I've been disabled since 2004

These guys have to know that voting on a TUESDAY is a huge burden for millions of voters. In person voting should be on a weekend and/or over several days, in addition to mail in voting.
And in Oregon, where I live, we vote by mail.
In Australia we hold our election on a Saturday for in person voting, pre polling is during the week.
I've always felt midterm/federal elections should be a national holiday in the US.
