I was really fed up watching other videos using this beautiful synth more or less as a boom box. Now this is how a real msician turn the same keyboard into a real instrument. Keep posting this quality video know-hows for the Key61 please!!!
Great video again Douglas. I'm just beginning to set up a 'gigging' Key 61 using my existing backing tracks and an external dynamic mic and electro-acoustic guitar plugged into the back. The EFX are great at producing a 'finished' sound especially having 4 efx available on inputs, tracks and outputs.

Hi, your videos are interesting and I had appreciated a lot the ones related to Nord Stage 3. I also bought a nord stage 3 (HA 88) and then, as I started to work “dawless”, I decided to add Akai Force to my setup. Force has the same instruments (but unfortunately I need to pay for them) and can be used together with Nord Stage, using midi! And I believe that the software is even better the MPC 61, as you have this “ableton like” approach, so you have a complete view of all the channels and mixer. Anyway, Fabric is a really great plugin, I love it. And now I see also this one.. very interesting! But fabric already contains a lot of presets, for many different situations, don’t you think?
😮 its possible split or layer a same plug in, like mellotron? Or have some layer option inside the plug in like on the fabric xl? I ask this because i want to use the strings and the flute of the mellotron togheter. Do you know if is this possible?
Nice video, as all of yours are. I have a question for you, MIDI related. I have drum software that I love to use to create my drum patterns on my iPad. I would love to use those patterns on my MPC key 61. Obviously, I can hook it up via USB and use it through or I may be able to do so through Bluetooth. Not 100% sure on that. My question is, have you ever hooked up anything MIDI through the Key 61? How could I play and record my drum patterns from my iPad through the MPC Using that hook up? Thank you. I’ve never really dove into MIDI before. So any help is greatly appreciated.
I started to follow you because I wanted to se more than simple demos of the MPC Key. But watching this video I wonder where I can find some tutorials for your playing style? Is it typical modern worship or?
Nice video! For some reason, though, I can’t get multiple tracks to play, even though I am arming multiple tracks like you are doing. Any tips? Maybe there’s a preference setting that I’ve inadvertently changed.

It would be great if Akai released a 73 or 88 weighted key version with faders and other controls to make it even more suitable for live stage use.

My Question is; can you layer more then 2 sounds in the setup? Like ADDING a Bell and EP? Theme
With his method 1, you can layer up to 8 different sounds (plugins).

Just figured it out. I Needed to switch my internal keyboard routing to “Global and Tracks”, not “Tracks”.
