Looking at a used set of these because of your review. I normally wouldn’t even consider a Vaughn outside the velocity line.

Pulled the trigger on a used set of these, thank you for the in depth review, it helped me purchase without trying the pads on!

Ugh. I want the all black Matt Murray Ventus set thats at a local store/school. Its demo only right now during trainings and am too broke after getting Trues to do it. Ugh, eee wdith feet.
However, I am taking 2S for a demo tomorrow again now that am a little more competent in skating. They were the first thing I tried as a tendy and I couldnt really skate on goalie blade length. I got hal straps now thankfully too. So helpful.

I use the V Elites Pro Carbon and they are the best pad I've ever used. Slide better than my Warrior G3 and GT and still kick out decent rebounds. Unbelievably easy to move and grab an edge for pushes. 1st set of Vaughn gear and not sure I'll change any time soon. I was really skeptical because of how flexible and soft they seem, but like you said, they just work. Gloves are V7 XF Pro Carbon and again no fancy technology, but everything about them just works really well.

18 months later, I'd love to see a review on the SLR2 Pro Carbon pads if you can get a hold of some. I feel that Vaughn doesn't get the love that Bauer, CCM, and Warrior do even though their pads are just as good.

crazynova23 and Vaughn is still a Canadian/USA company. No overseas production.

The non-Pro Carbon gear is all made overseas.

I just demoed a set of SLR2 on the 20th of July 2019. Vary sweet pads, but Vaughn is alway a good choice.

I've been waiting to see a review on that professor strap. I think I'm gonna end up getting a set of the new Passau with that strap added.

Hopefully I'll get to try out a pair of Passau with that!

Besides the strapping going diagonal and the way bungie toe ties have come in, I haven't really noticed too much to pads change other than weight.

how does the landing pad feel for the knee? My 1s pads give me massive bruises these days even with 1x knee guards with those gel knee sleeves by bauer under em. I had to go with leather straps on the 1s because the velcro system is annoying. I would prefer this system MUCH better.

    • @HockeyReviews

They are definitely softer than the 1S knee block.

    • @HockeyReviews

Completely different and nothing similar besides the flat face.

Hey Matt, I know older video, I am looking at possible getting Vaughn's to try out. I usually wearl 36 + 1 in most pads, the pads I am looking at are Vaughn SLR Pro Carbon 35+2. Will these still fit me, is the knee movable? I have 36+1 in Warrior now, and have had Brians 36+1 and they fit well, just not sure with the 35+2 if I will be fine? What are your thoughts having used these?

    • @HockeyReviews
      @HockeyReviews  4 роки тому

It should be pretty close. I wore 35 in all Vaughn and 36 in Brian's

@@HockeyReviews Yea the college player that wore them was only 5"10" and I am 6"3... so wasn't sure but Brians 36+1, Warrior 36+1 and even Bauer 36+1 have all fit perfect.

Can anyone ask for demo pads? I'd like to give some Vaughns a shot.

Someone mentioned to me before they got a demo set so I figured I'd ask. Not sure if I was lucky or not.

Hi and Thanks for the review, I wish there were more guys or gals out there doing reviews on the modern Vaughn pads. I have the Vaughn Ventus LT 98's and there way more stiffer than the SLR's in your review. I picked them up, super cheap, When the new SLR line rolled out. They came with integral knee pads and full leather strapping and weigh 6.01 lbs with toe tie laces. I came from wearing the 2200 Pro Carbon pads and it was quite the dramatic change. But I couldn't believe how light they were and how well they sealed the ice, So, I threw caution to the wind and made the change, I love them there awesome. I'm a little surprised by how beat up your review pads look, I have a little over 160 ice sessions on my LT98's and the front and sliding face look close to new. But I do look after my gear extremely well. Have you considered doing a review on the new VE8's I'm going to check them out for a replacement pad down the road.

Thanks for checking out the video and for the kind words!
I would love to review the V8 and the upcoming SLR 2, but that is where my channels small size comes as a disadvantage as I'm not big enough for these companies to often send me demo gear. This reason is why I always ask for viewers to mention my channel to social media accounts so I can get on their radar. I'm have a feeling if enough people went to Bauer or Vaughn and said "can to send so and so a demo set to do a video on and review" they'd be more eager than when I beg them haha.

@@HockeyReviews Can you partner with a retailer instead of the companies themselves? Can try embedding the link of the pads set you're reviewing to the retailer's site, then add tracking URL and then you can quantify how many views you're driving to their site. I've watched your videos for ALL of my pads purchases at some point as a part of consideration, but only a small percentage will go and email the companies to mention your channel.

I've reached out to stores and haven't gotten responses. I'm not big enough for them to really care it seems.
It doesn't help that I also talked negatively about products, I've had offers in the past for more gear if I took down a review or video, but I don't do these videos to sell gear for people.
I also greatly appreciate you watching my stuff and I hope my videos have helped!
