Just signed for a huge club in my country, from a small community club. Thank you so much for guiding me along this journey, you've really been a huge help!
As a 14 year old ready to take over the starting spot for my school team, the advice you gave I would apply it and embrace my high and lows. My goal kicks and foot are bad, always kicking it low and makes mistakes, I will improve it with patience ❤️
Also considering I was injured in my main left leg a few years ago, even though I recovered in two weeks, it would always make my balance and technique weak in the ball, but at least I can still jump as normal. Been training to improve my balance and technique with my stronger right foot now and also making my foot balanced in strength
I started goalkeeping almost two years ago, not too much time. I used to be afraid to rush in 1v1s and that led me to concede goals, i didnt really like my teammates blaming me and my footwork wasnt well. I already knew how to communicate, and i put in the hardwork every day i had training making crazy saves, barely conceding goals, clearing the ball well to my teammates, started to rush in 1v1s even if i risked getting hurt just to save a shot and my teammates started to call me spiderman in just my first year and now im working even harder so i can reach my goals as a GK.
That’s an incredible story and such a testament to your hard work and determination! Overcoming your fear of 1v1s and transforming your game like that in just two years is seriously impressive. The fact that your teammates now call you "Spiderman" shows how much they respect your commitment and talent - it’s a nickname every keeper would be proud of! 🕷️🧤 It sounds like you’ve got the right mindset to keep improving. Keep putting in the effort at training, and don’t stop challenging yourself to grow. With that attitude, there’s no doubt you’ll keep reaching new heights as a goalkeeper. Keep it up - you’re on the path to something great! ⚽🔥💪
In the end, a 1v1 is a lottery, you should not be afraid, as all the pressure is on the striker, people won’t expect you to save it, after all, about 80% of the goal is open, so just try to narrow the angle as much as possible. Not only that, the fact that it got to that point is the defenders fault
@@itsafiguretrue, it's the striker under pressure as in a 1v1, like you said, 80% of the goal is open so its them supposed to score, not the goalkeeper to save it. Thanks for your tip though!
I play goalkeeper since childhood but my high diving skills are that's good how I improve my high diving skills and my slipt save and k block safe if not that go too please tell me how can I improve both of them ❤❤❤❤
I do have some of these signs, however I don’t care,I’m still playing till I can’t and will get to the next level of my goalkeeping a video is not gonna stop me
Hi buddy been a while I've told u before I'm not a goalie im a cdm/cb but I love the feeling of saving shots and sometimes I use your videos as motivation thank you for everything and now look at you 19k subs so close and I must go to bed bye mate
That’s such an awesome message - thank you so much! 🙌 It’s amazing that even as a CDM/CB, you enjoy the thrill of saving shots and find motivation in the videos. That versatility and love for the game will take you far! And yes, 19k subs - so close 20k, right? Crazy... It’s thanks to people like you who support the channel and keep the energy going. Appreciate you dropping by, and I hope you get a good night’s rest. Keep crushing it on the field, mate! 🧤⚽🔥
I started football last year and I love goalkeeping a lot! I still asked my coach to let me switch positions because I felt stuck in goal when there was nothing to do. I wanted to run out and help my team. As a goalie, you are constantly out of the game. That's what killed it for me...
It’s awesome that you discovered your love for goalkeeping! But I totally get where you’re coming from. It can be frustrating to feel "stuck" in goal when there’s little action - it’s one of the unique challenges of the position. Unlike outfield players, goalkeepers spend long stretches waiting for those critical moments to shine, and it’s not for everyone. Switching positions to stay more involved in the game is a great decision if that’s what you enjoy! The beauty of football is that there’s a spot for everyone, whether you want to be in the thick of the action or guarding the net. If you ever decide to give goalkeeping another shot, it’s about embracing those quieter moments as time to read the game, communicate with your defense, and stay mentally ready for when your moment comes. Either way, keep loving the game and finding the role that makes you happiest! ⚽🔥
I’m trying to be a different position than goalie not because I don’t like it, it’s because I don’t really get to do running much and I think it will be fun I still plan to be goal keep as my team isn’t that great so I get a lot of action in games
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping I'll always bring my gloves (and cushioned pants). And if our other goalie is up for a goalkeeping training session on the side, I'll always be there. Maybe I'll end up embracing it. I do feel like I miss the movements and wild dives of goalkeeping. But I love playing the ball a lot too. It'll be interesting to see where I end up.
I have a small tip that’s related to the communication piece that worked better than I expected it to. If you’re telling your defenders to come over, or tell them “AWAY”, not only are you calling them over. But you’re also putting the striker under pressure. I noticed that when the striker comes running towards the net, they feel so confident. But suddenly when I yell “DEFENSE” or “AWAY” the striker slows down and seems to get ready for the defenders to tackle them. I’m not saying it’ll work for everyone but it’s just a thought!
That’s such a great tip, and it’s spot on! Communication as a goalkeeper isn’t just about organizing your defense / it can absolutely have an impact on the attackers too. Yelling commands like “AWAY” or “DEFENSE” not only helps your team react but can also mess with the striker’s mindset. Hearing those calls might make them second-guess their confidence and timing, which can throw them off their rhythm. It’s a smart psychological move, and the fact that you’ve seen it work in action makes it even better. Communication is such a powerful tool for keepers, and using it to influence the game beyond your own defenders is next-level thinking. Thanks for sharing this-it’s a tip that could help so many other keepers! 🧤⚽🔥
Hey I never was a goalkeeper but my son is training about 2 years so now before every session with him I watch your video after that watch2sfsin with him talk about that and take with me to the field. Makes me feel like a pro coach and he loves it. Thank you for you time and experience my friend. I'm really thinking to pay for other stuff from you looks like worth it and sounds like a good price and great value. All the best. Are you do 1v1 sessions?
That’s amazing to hear! It’s incredible that you’re so involved in your son’s training and taking the time to learn and grow alongside him - it’s the kind of dedication that makes a huge difference in his journey. The fact that he loves it and sees you as his “pro coach” is just the cherry on top. What a great way to bond while improving his skills! I’m really glad the videos are helping, and thank you for considering the other programs - that means a lot! They’re designed to give keepers and coaches like you even more tools to succeed, so I hope you find them valuable. As for 1v1 sessions, I don’t currently offer those in person, but I’m always exploring ways to provide more personalized guidance. If you ever have specific questions or want tips for your son’s training, feel free to reach out - I’m happy to help however I can! Keep up the great work, and best of luck to you and your son on this amazing journey! 🧤⚽🔥
Thank you bro for helping me so much on goalkeeping because i am just a 11 year old goalkeeper and before watching your videos i didn't know how to dive and other gk things but after your videos it has helped me a lot and i am finally the best gk in my school
That fifth one.... As a street football player I always used to like being on outfield player because I liked running. But nowadays I just can't run as much as I used to do a decade ago. So I decide to give it a shot to goalkeeping and surprisingly even for me - I did actually liked it! Obviously I have quite a lot to learn and improve but yeah I never thought it would be so fun (and as well quite scary at some moments) :D
That’s such a cool story! It’s amazing how stepping into goalkeeping can surprise you like that. Even if you started as an outfield player, it sounds like you’ve found something new to love about the game. And yes, goalkeeping is definitely a mix of fun and a bit of adrenaline - those scary moments are part of what makes it so rewarding! The fact that you’re already enjoying it, even with lots to learn, shows you’ve got the right mindset. Keep working on the basics, practice consistently, and embrace the challenge. Goalkeeping has a way of growing on you the more you play. Welcome to the keeper life! 🧤⚽🔥
Yes but remember, there are no such things as an introvert goalkeeper. When you're on the field, you're not an introvert or an extrovert - you're a goalkeeper. As I say in the video, start small and evolve from there. Your need it and your team needs it! :)
@@panavgaming1050 idk if this is good advice or not but what worked for me is i started off very quiet and progressively got louder as i was more comfortable
Im extremely short at 5'4 and theres no more growing for me since im 18 but due to ur videos ive improved dramatically in the diving and positioning department. Still a long way to go since my handling and kicking sucks but i hope i continue to grow my skills, possibly even become the next campos ❤❤❤
I dont know if this will help you but i hope it does: you always want to have a low posture when rushing out because if your posture is too high he can just slot it past you
All of us should always remember, you are being asked to stop a ball traveling all different directions with different velocity and different curves, with often no help from others or no signs (headers are very difficult to read for example), to prevent it from going into a net that is impossible to cover entirely. We are trained but we are all human. Mistakes WILL happen.
Do you have a video where you explain what dives you need to do when your in a certain position? For example, the striker is around at the penalty box and he takes the shot, obviously there are many ways he could shoot it, but i dont know how else to explain the question.
Hey buddy. I'm not sure I understand the question exactly but have you watched this video about diving? ua-cam.com/video/8JcN2PXnDqM/v-deo.html and this video about positioning: ua-cam.com/video/nWAV9OHcRoY/v-deo.html
Great video, one question, though. I always struggle with completely securing basket catches or scoops, so it always leads the ball to bounce off, roll in between, or for some bad mistake to occur/ How do I fix this mistake of missing basket and scoop catches?
i dont know why but when im practicing with my friends,i feel really scared to strong shots but when im in a match,im not even scare of it and i always willing to catch that shot
That’s actually really common, and it’s all about the mindset in different situations. Here’s why this might be happening and how you can address it: Why It Happens: Practice feels less "serious": During practice with friends, your mind might be more relaxed, making you overthink or anticipate the shot differently. Adrenaline in matches: In games, adrenaline kicks in, and you’re more focused on the moment, which can make you fearless. Less pressure in practice: Ironically, knowing it’s "just practice" might make you more conscious of the shot and the fear of getting hurt. How to Overcome It: Treat practice like a match: Imagine you’re in a game when you’re practicing. Visualize a competitive scenario to get your mindset in the right place. Gradual exposure: Build confidence by facing slower shots first, then gradually increasing the power. The more you practice against stronger shots, the less intimidating they’ll feel. Focus on technique: Think about your hand positioning and footwork instead of the shot’s power. When your body knows what to do, fear takes a backseat. Protect yourself: Make sure you’re wearing good gloves and practicing on safe surfaces. Knowing you’re protected can ease that fear. The fact that you’re fearless in matches is a great sign - it shows you’ve got the mindset for high-pressure situations. With time and practice, that same confidence will carry over into your training sessions too. Keep at it, and you’ll conquer this! 💪🧤⚽🔥
The goalkicks r so relatable but I kept on practicing in the summer and watch ur videos abt goal kicks and now I can send it to the moon, but the only problems I'm having troubles with is footwork and sweeping so could u make a vid on that pls or if u already made one, can u send it on reply abt footwork and sweeping. Thank u
That’s awesome to hear about your goal kick progress - sending them to the moon is no small feat! 🚀 It’s great to see your hard work paying off. Here are two videos on footwork training: 1) ua-cam.com/video/kdyg5mVHmnc/v-deo.html 2) ua-cam.com/video/rq_cmFrwNvE/v-deo.html Here's a video on positioning: 1) ua-cam.com/video/nWAV9OHcRoY/v-deo.html I hope this helps :)
Thank you for the video you did on how to train because before i trained like i didnt care and that i would do better on matchdays. But in the end i would end up making mistakes that looked really silly.😂❤
You know... Most of the things I talk about, I've experience myself. So I know how it is being lazy in training and thinking you'll rock it on match days. It just doesn't work that way ... But I'm happy that you found out sooner rather than later 😂 Thanks for commenting ❤
I'm now goalkeeper agian, I forgot how to dive, but my saves are good. If ball goes in, then don't just stay down. It doesn't matter how many times you are knocked down, it matters how many times you get up😢
I’ll be honest, from those signs you talk about I think I have two of them. Body fear and talking. My body fear its not by having contact with other players, it’s just hiting the ground hard and I only have these fear because I don’t have the correct technique once I have it I wouldn’t have it anymore. The speaking its because I think I don’t give the corret call at the right time. What you think about it?
Thanks for sharing that! It’s great that you’re being honest with yourself about the areas you want to improve - it’s the first step toward growth. Here’s what I think: 1. Body Fear It’s totally normal to have that fear, especially if you feel like your technique isn’t quite there yet. Once you improve your diving and landing skills, that confidence will come naturally. Here’s what can help: Practice controlled dives: Start on soft ground or mats and focus on proper technique-leading with your hands and distributing the impact across your body. Gradual exposure: Build confidence by practicing low-impact dives and slowly increasing intensity as you get comfortable. The more you train, the more you’ll trust your body to handle those hard landings. 2. Communication Not giving the “right call at the right time” is something a lot of goalkeepers struggle with at first. But communication is a skill you can develop with practice: Be specific and loud: Use simple, clear commands like “Man on!” or “Mark left!” so your teammates know exactly what to do. Practice during training: Make it a habit to call out during practice matches-it’ll feel more natural in games. Own your calls: Even if you’re not 100% sure, being decisive gives your teammates confidence and builds your leadership on the field. You’re already ahead by recognizing what you need to work on. Keep at it, and you’ll notice improvements in both your technique and communication. You’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽
Have you fone a video for beginners? Showing stance how to read strikers etc? I i keep guessing to early 🙈 great when it wirk look like a fool when it doesn't.
I play goalkeeper since childhood but my high diving skills are that's good how I improve my high diving skills and my slipt save and k block safe if not that go too please tell me how can I improve both of them ❤❤❤❤
Hey buddy. Here's a video about diving, I know it will help you: ua-cam.com/video/8JcN2PXnDqM/v-deo.html Here's a video on 1v1 (K block): ua-cam.com/video/Lch3un35Xw0/v-deo.html I hope this helps :)
I tried not to play in goal since i damaged my shoulder when i was younger but every team I've played for since that day they seem to either have a terrible keeper or the keeper gets injured so i go in for "1" game and then spend the rest of the season in goal, i love being a goalkeeper i just don't love waking up sore the next day because its so much more physical than play in CM and I'm getting old now lol
This is such a relatable story for so many goalkeepers! It’s like once you’ve got that keeper DNA, every team just knows and somehow pulls you back into goal. 😂 It’s awesome that you love the position, even if it wasn’t the plan initially, but I totally get the frustration of the soreness - goalkeeping is definitely more physical than people realize!
Great question, and you’re not alone - facing power shots can be intimidating, but you can absolutely overcome that fear with the right approach. Here’s what to focus on: Improve Your Hand Positioning Keep your hands in the "W" or "triangle" position, fingers spread wide. This helps you absorb the impact and control the ball better, reducing the chances of it slipping through. Build Hand Strength Practice grip-strengthening exercises, like squeezing a stress ball or using a grip trainer. Strong hands are less likely to be overwhelmed by powerful shots. Wear the Right Gloves Invest in gloves with good padding and grip. High-quality gloves can make a big difference in handling powerful strikes. Practice Facing Power Shots Start in a controlled environment where you can build confidence. Gradually increase the speed and intensity of the shots as you get more comfortable. Confidence Through Repetition The more you practice saving hard shots, the less intimidating they’ll feel. With time, you’ll trust your ability to handle them. Fear is natural, but remember: every time you face it, you’re building confidence and getting better. Stick with it, and you’ll be saving power shots like a pro in no time! 💪🧤⚽🔥
Im stuck in the gk postion from my fivth grade on that' day i thought it was the worst position in football . Able to only view match most of the time . But l Know that im stuck with this position so i decide to work on gk know how to dive some times pull up some top save im have even made lot of mistakes like in the fith grade i can't even catch a ball thats rolling towards me im confident . If you want to become a gk it is very hard but want a lot of work to become a gk
I have had trouble on goal kick awhile back when I was younger I kicked with my toe but I have learned not to but I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong I’m trying to hit it with the top of my foot leaning a bit back but it always stays low on the ground
Have you tried to use your big bone or slight instep? It's easier to get under ball. If you want the ball to go up, you must lean back and hit the lower half of the ball.
Goalkeeping is like being a babysitter You have to coordinate a bunch of kids to do what they have to do, but if something goes wrong, you take ALL the blame. But bold of them... I ALREADY blame myself for everything, is actually comforting to me to be blamed... Strangely enough.
Thank you, and congratulations on joining such a high-level team - that’s a massive achievement! 🎉 Playing in the P16 Allsvenskan is a big step, and you’re clearly doing something right to get there. Here are a few tips to help you settle in and thrive: Be Confident, but Humble Trust in your abilities - your hard work got you here for a reason. At the same time, be open to learning from your coaches and teammates. Build Chemistry Get to know your teammates on and off the field. Building trust will improve communication and help your defense feel more solid. You’ve already proven you belong at this level - now it’s about growing even more. Best of luck in your new team, and I know you’re going to smash it! 🧤⚽🔥
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping maybe you are his cousin in secret? but thank you again for the vid i have a tournament against all the schools in my country and i hope i win using you techniques!
That’s awesome that you’re part of your school team - competition can be tough, but it’s also a great opportunity to grow and prove yourself. Here’s how you can stand out among the other keepers: 1. Focus on the Basics Make sure your handling, footwork, and positioning are solid. Coaches notice consistency, so work on mastering the fundamentals. 2. Be Vocal Communication is key! Be the loudest and clearest voice on the field-organizing your defense and calling plays shows leadership and confidence. 3. Show Great Attitude Always hustle, stay positive, and support your teammates. Coaches love players with a strong work ethic and a team-first mindset. 4. Work on What Sets You Apart Identify one area where you can shine-whether it’s diving, quick reflexes, or distribution-and make that your standout strength. 5. Practice Outside of Team Training Dedicate extra time to improving your skills. Whether it’s solo drills, fitness, or watching tutorials, those little extra efforts make a big difference. 6. Stay Confident Don’t let the competition get into your head. Focus on what you can do, and trust in your abilities. Remember, you’re on the team for a reason! Keep working hard, and even if the competition is tough, you’ll show your coach why you deserve that spot. Good luck, and keep pushing yourself - you’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽🔥
Do leg exercises which you can find on youtube. Also work on your technique which you can find video about on youtube. And lastly take all the time you have alone on the football pitch to train your kicks. Hope this helps.❤
Hey buddy.... Squats, deadlifts, bulgarian split squats, romanian deadlifts, nordic hamstrings. These are all great for building strength. Other than that it's about kicking the ball against a wall over and over and again to work on your technique
I am tall and some times in the matches I do incredible saves and then sometime easy shots goes in and also I just wanna ask something sometimes when I concede easy goals in the middle of the match feel so depressed and even the easy saves that I’ve done in the beginning of the match i can’t do in the middle of the match and this is so frustrating so my point is is I can’t be good the whole match just sometimes we’re I save the incredible saves and then the other time I just can’t even save the easy ones and it rare where I play so good the whole match I just don’t understand what’s wrong or what’s the mistake or is it normal I want to have some tip to stay The Whole match good performance
Thanks for sharing - what you’re describing is something almost every goalkeeper experiences at some point. It’s normal to feel frustrated when you make great saves one moment and let in easier shots the next. Goalkeeping is as much about the mental game as it is about skill. Here’s how you can work toward more consistent performances: 1. Focus on Your Mental Reset After conceding a goal or making a mistake, take a deep breath and reset. Tell yourself, “That’s in the past - focus on the next save.” Dwelling on a mistake can affect the rest of your game. 2. Build Your Concentration Being a goalkeeper requires constant focus. During quieter moments in the match, stay engaged by analyzing the game - look at the positioning of your defenders and attackers or imagine different scenarios and how you’d react. This keeps your mind sharp. 3. Manage Your Emotions It’s easy to feel down after a mistake, but try to stay positive. Remind yourself of the great saves you’ve already made and trust your abilities. Confidence is key to consistency. 4. Work on Your Physical and Mental Stamina If you notice a drop in your performance as the match progresses, it could be fatigue-physical or mental. Physically: Focus on fitness and endurance training. A stronger body can help you stay alert and react quickly. Mentally: Practice staying calm under pressure during training. For example, simulate game situations where you must bounce back after conceding a goal. 5. Simplify Your Approach For easy shots, don’t overthink or underestimate them. Stick to your basics - proper positioning, balanced stance, and keeping your eyes on the ball. Sometimes we lose focus because we expect easy saves to be automatic. 6. Accept That Mistakes Happen No goalkeeper plays perfectly every match, even at the highest level. It’s not about being flawless-it’s about doing your best to recover and make the next save. 7. Post-Match Reflection After the match, analyze what went well and where things slipped. Was it positioning, focus, or technique? Use this to improve for the next game. Consistency takes time and effort, but you’re already on the right path by recognizing the issue and wanting to improve. Stick with it, and you’ll find that balance to keep performing your best throughout the whole match. You’ve got this! 🧤⚽🔥

Absolutely, you can make it as a goalkeeper! Height isn’t everything, especially when you’re in 5th grade- you still have plenty of time to grow. What really matters is your technique, mindset, and how much effort you put into improving. The fact that you can already dive well is a great foundation! Remember, some of the best goalkeepers in the world started small and became legends through hard work. Keep diving, keep learning, and keep believing in yourself - you’ve got this! 🧤⚽🔥
Hey Man, Can you please make a Video how to Jump Higher Im 13 Years old and 171 Cm Tall I’m good in every Aspect except jumping I concede silly goals below the bar even tho normally I can touch the bar
I got thrashed 7 0 and I felt helpless and my defender made a mistake and I got blamed for it i am always stressed on game day and like emotional roller coaster any tips as I'm starting to Think I should give up goalkeeper because of all The negativity to me I've played it for 4'years this is my worst year yet and I always feel like I let my team down when I make a Mistake
Hey, I’m really sorry to hear you’re feeling this way - it’s tough, but I want you to know you’re not alone. Every goalkeeper goes through tough moments, and the position can feel really isolating sometimes. The fact that you’ve been playing for 4 years shows you have the commitment and love for the game, so don’t let one rough year take that away from you. Here are some tips to help: 1. Mistakes Are Part of the Game Even the best goalkeepers in the world make mistakes - it’s just part of the position. The key is learning from them and moving on. Focus on why the mistake happened and how to improve, rather than beating yourself up. 2. Take the Pressure Off You don’t have to carry the whole team on your shoulders. Football is a team sport, and goals are rarely just the goalkeeper’s fault. Remind yourself of all the good saves and contributions you’ve made. 3. Prepare for Game Day. The stress you feel before games might ease if you have a consistent pre-game routine. Warm up, focus on your breathing, and visualize yourself making saves. This helps calm your nerves and get you in the zone. 4. Talk to Your Team If negativity is getting you down, have an honest chat with your teammates or coach. Let them know how you’re feeling. You might be surprised by how supportive they can be once they know what you’re going through. 5. Focus on What You Can Control You can’t control mistakes or criticism, but you can control your effort and attitude. Keep working hard in training, and don’t let negativity stop you from enjoying the game you love. 6. Take a Break if Needed It’s okay to take a step back if you need time to reset mentally. A short break can help you rediscover your passion for goalkeeping and return stronger. It’s clear you care deeply about being a good goalkeeper, and that’s what makes you strong. Don’t let one tough season define your journey. You’ve got what it takes to push through this and come out even better. Keep your head up - you’re stronger than you think! 💪🧤⚽❤️
Man after a year my confidence and self esteem is broken and ill just quit goalkeeper and change position, my fingers hurt so much that I couldn't write in class because people try to hurt me😭😭
I’m really sorry to hear you’re feeling this way - it sounds like you’ve been through a tough time, and it’s completely okay to feel frustrated and overwhelmed. Let’s break it down, because there might be a way to help you regain your confidence or find what truly makes you happy: 1. It’s Okay to Take a Break If being a goalkeeper is causing too much physical and emotional stress, it’s absolutely fine to step away for a bit or try another position. Your well-being is more important than anything else. 2. Address the Pain Fingers Hurting: Make sure you’re using gloves with proper support and padding. If your fingers are constantly getting hurt, it might be worth seeing a doctor or physiotherapist to check for any underlying issues. Consider practicing techniques that reduce strain on your hands, like parrying instead of catching for certain shots. 3. Talk to Someone Share how you’re feeling with a coach, teacher, or family member. Sometimes just talking about it can make things feel a little lighter, and they might be able to offer help or support. 4. Explore Other Positions Switching positions isn’t giving up-it’s about finding what makes you happy on the field. If you enjoy being outfield more, go for it! Football is about having fun, after all. 5. Don’t Let Negativity Win If people are intentionally trying to hurt you, that’s not okay. Speak to your coach or someone in authority about what’s happening. You deserve to play in a safe and supportive environment. 6. Remember Why You Started Think about what you love about football. Whether it’s goalkeeping or playing another position, your passion for the game is what matters most. You’re stronger than you think, and even though it feels tough now, this moment doesn’t define your journey. Take care of yourself, and no matter what you decide, know that you’re doing your best - and that’s what counts. 💪🧤⚽❤️
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping thanks but I've tried explaining to my friends and the coach but they all refuse so maybe I'll have to play in another team next year😥
Great question! There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to the ideal weight for a goalkeeper, as it depends on factors like your body composition, fitness level, and playing style. For someone who is 5’7”, a healthy weight range is typically around 135-165 lbs (61-75 kg), depending on your build. Goalkeepers tend to be on the stronger side because they need power and explosiveness.
That’s a great question! If you’re struggling to physically execute a spread save, don’t worry - it’s something you can work on over time with the right approach. Here’s what you can do: Focus on Flexibility Stretch Regularly: Start incorporating stretches like hip openers, butterfly stretches, and lunges into your routine to improve flexibility. Dynamic Warm-Ups: Before training, do exercises like leg swings and side lunges to loosen up your hips and groin area. Yoga or Mobility Work: These can work wonders for improving overall flexibility and range of motion. Adapt Your Technique If spreading wide is physically challenging right now, focus on techniques like the block save or a low dive to cover space. These can be just as effective in 1v1 situations. Remember, goalkeeping isn’t just about one technique - it’s about finding what works best for you and maximizing your strengths. Keep working on it, and you’ll find your way! 🧤⚽🔥
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping I think i'm not that bad, i have the talent but inadequate training. And yeah, knowing that there's someone who believes in me helps :)
I’m really sorry to hear that - it’s tough when you’re passionate about something but don’t have the full support to pursue it. Balancing studies and football can be challenging, but here are a few ideas that might help: 1. Show Them You Can Balance Both Let your parents see that you’re responsible with your studies. If you stay on top of your schoolwork, they may be more open to letting you play. 2. Talk About Your Passion Sit down with your parents and explain how much goalkeeping means to you. Suggest a Trial Period Ask if you can dedicate a small amount of time each week to football as a “trial.” Promise to keep your grades up during that time to show them you can handle both. 4. Have you tried breathing before the game? Positive self-talk? And don't do it once and give up. You have to do it every game, maybe even before practice. Your mind requires practice just as your goalkeeping skills do.
Just remember, goalkeeping is the hardest position and you shouldn’t be blamed for anything. Also remember that in that situation, the shooter is the one under pressure. Not you. The striker or shooter are always trying to score and get a goal, which puts them under pressure for their team. Because what if they miss? And don’t forget you’re not alone in the defensive position. You can summon your defenders by saying “DEFENSE!” Or if they’re near, say “AWAYYY” You can also take a deep breath before a game. And if you make a save, even a small one, take that as a win and use that to build confidence

Amazing to hear that! Congratulations on the move! Keep going 💪
Congratulation bro
congrats man
Congrats bro!
Congrats bro
Sadly I'm feeling down today
As a 14 year old ready to take over the starting spot for my school team, the advice you gave I would apply it and embrace my high and lows. My goal kicks and foot are bad, always kicking it low and makes mistakes, I will improve it with patience ❤️
It takes time. But you can do it, buddy. Keep working hard. You got this! :) ❤️
Also considering I was injured in my main left leg a few years ago, even though I recovered in two weeks, it would always make my balance and technique weak in the ball, but at least I can still jump as normal. Been training to improve my balance and technique with my stronger right foot now and also making my foot balanced in strength
Sounds like a good plan, buddy! :)
It sounds like you’ve got the right mindset to keep improving.
@@GroundGloryGoalkeepingthanks dude!

I’m trying to be a different position than goalie not because I don’t like it, it’s because I don’t really get to do running much and I think it will be fun
I still plan to be goal keep as my team isn’t that great so I get a lot of action in games
That's great buddy :) It's always more fun to have a lot to do as a goalkeeper =)
You better let me know. You should follow your passion, that's it. Do what makes you most happy! :)
I love your work, it really helps !
Thank you, buddy! I'm glad to help

As an introvert I just need to improve the 4th one
Yes but remember, there are no such things as an introvert goalkeeper. When you're on the field, you're not an introvert or an extrovert - you're a goalkeeper. As I say in the video, start small and evolve from there. Your need it and your team needs it! :)
@ I know I just can’t speak like I’m unable to talk even if I try whenever I try I just have a feeling that just stops me
No but you have to break through that barrier. Start small. Very small. Like: "Man on" or "I'm free". It takes practice like everything else :)
@@panavgaming1050 idk if this is good advice or not but what worked for me is i started off very quiet and progressively got louder as i was more comfortable

Hey, I am a goalkeeper in 5's for my entire 2 years journey in football. Can you make a video on how and when to rush during 1v1s. Thank you
I dont know if this will help you but i hope it does:
you always want to have a low posture when rushing out because if your posture is too high he can just slot it past you
Hey buddy, have you watched this video on 1v1s? ua-cam.com/video/Lch3un35Xw0/v-deo.html
That's great advice
All of us should always remember, you are being asked to stop a ball traveling all different directions with different velocity and different curves, with often no help from others or no signs (headers are very difficult to read for example), to prevent it from going into a net that is impossible to cover entirely. We are trained but we are all human. Mistakes WILL happen.
Fantastic point of view 🙏 Thank you
According to your content, you are very very very underratted. Thanks coach. Your help is a lot for me❤❤. Thanks once again❤❤
Thanks a lot for the love. It means a lot.
Do you have a video where you explain what dives you need to do when your in a certain position? For example, the striker is around at the penalty box and he takes the shot, obviously there are many ways he could shoot it, but i dont know how else to explain the question.
Hey buddy. I'm not sure I understand the question exactly but have you watched this video about diving? ua-cam.com/video/8JcN2PXnDqM/v-deo.html
and this video about positioning: ua-cam.com/video/nWAV9OHcRoY/v-deo.html
Great video, one question, though. I always struggle with completely securing basket catches or scoops, so it always leads the ball to bounce off, roll in between, or for some bad mistake to occur/ How do I fix this mistake of missing basket and scoop catches?
Hey buddy, have you watched my catching video? You can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/PY1oJFuM5qU/v-deo.html
i dont know why but when im practicing with my friends,i feel really scared to strong shots but when im in a match,im not even scare of it and i always willing to catch that shot
That’s actually really common, and it’s all about the mindset in different situations. Here’s why this might be happening and how you can address it:
Why It Happens:
Practice feels less "serious": During practice with friends, your mind might be more relaxed, making you overthink or anticipate the shot differently.
Adrenaline in matches: In games, adrenaline kicks in, and you’re more focused on the moment, which can make you fearless.
Less pressure in practice: Ironically, knowing it’s "just practice" might make you more conscious of the shot and the fear of getting hurt.
How to Overcome It:
Treat practice like a match: Imagine you’re in a game when you’re practicing.
Yes, I can make one about free kicks :)
Mentally strong! That’s the way.
True! :)
Same with me I am a very good shot stopper(gotten mvp many times in u13) but my goal kicks are not very good and I am still trying to improve then
Congratulations, buddy! Don't worry, we'll fix your goal kicks. I have a very fun and helpful video coming out about goal kicks :)
I'm now goalkeeper agian, I forgot how to dive, but my saves are good. If ball goes in, then don't just stay down. It doesn't matter how many times you are knocked down, it matters how many times you get up😢
That's really solid advice, buddy. Thanks for sharing! Rocky Balboa!
Here’s what I think:
1. Body Fear
It’s totally normal to have that fear, especially if you feel like your technique isn’t quite there yet. Once you improve your diving and landing skills, that confidence will come naturally. Here’s what can help:
Practice controlled dives: Start on soft ground or mats and focus on proper technique-leading with your hands and distributing the impact across your body.
Gradual exposure: Build confidence by practicing low-impact dives and slowly increasing intensity as you get comfortable.
The more you train, the more you’ll trust your body to handle those hard landings.
2. Communication
Not giving the “right call at the right time” is something a lot of goalkeepers struggle with at first. But communication is a skill you can develop with practice:
Be specific and loud: Use simple, clear commands like “Man on!” or “Mark left!” so your teammates know exactly what to do.
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping thank you so much 🙌

What should we do if a striker powershots the ball hard and your scared to save it
Great question, and you’re not alone - facing power shots can be intimidating, but you can absolutely overcome that fear with the right approach. Here’s what to focus on:
Improve Your Hand Positioning
Keep your hands in the "W" or "triangle" position, fingers spread wide. This helps you absorb the impact and control the ball better, reducing the chances of it slipping through.
Build Hand Strength
Practice grip-strengthening exercises, like squeezing a stress ball or using a grip trainer. Strong hands are less likely to be overwhelmed by powerful shots.
Wear the Right Gloves
Invest in gloves with good padding and grip. High-quality gloves can make a big difference in handling powerful strikes.
Practice Facing Power Shots
Start in a controlled environment where you can build confidence. Gradually increase the speed and intensity of the shots as you get more comfortable.
Confidence Through Repetition
The more you practice saving hard shots, the less intimidating they’ll feel. With time, you’ll trust your ability to handle them.
Fear is natural, but remember: every time you face it, you’re building confidence and getting better. Stick with it, and you’ll be saving power shots like a pro in no time! 💪🧤⚽🔥

I have had trouble on goal kick awhile back when I was younger I kicked with my toe but I have learned not to but I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong I’m trying to hit it with the top of my foot leaning a bit back but it always stays low on the ground
You're welcome, keep grinding!
Have you tried to use your big bone or slight instep? It's easier to get under ball. If you want the ball to go up, you must lean back and hit the lower half of the ball.
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping thanks for the tip I will try that
Goalkeeping is like being a babysitter
You have to coordinate a bunch of kids to do what they have to do, but if something goes wrong, you take ALL the blame.
But bold of them... I ALREADY blame myself for everything, is actually comforting to me to be blamed... Strangely enough.
Haha nice analogy 🙏
Really? I haven't heard of anyone feeling that way before but cool ☺️🙏
Great video, Kristian. I will join a new team that will play in the highest division for my age (P16 Allsvenskan) in sweden. Do you have any tips.
Thank you, and congratulations on joining such a high-level team - that’s a massive achievement! 🎉 Playing in the P16 Allsvenskan is a big step, and you’re clearly doing something right to get there. Here are a few tips to help you settle in and thrive:
Be Confident, but Humble
Trust in your abilities - your hard work got you here for a reason. At the same time, be open to learning from your coaches and teammates.
Build Chemistry
Get to know your teammates on and off the field. Building trust will improve communication and help your defense feel more solid.
You’ve already proven you belong at this level - now it’s about growing even more. Best of luck in your new team, and I know you’re going to smash it! 🧤⚽🔥

I am twelve and i play for my school team but there are 3 other keepers contesting me spot what do i do
That’s awesome that you’re part of your school team - competition can be tough, but it’s also a great opportunity to grow and prove yourself. Here’s how you can stand out among the other keepers:
1. Focus on the Basics
Make sure your handling, footwork, and positioning are solid. Coaches notice consistency, so work on mastering the fundamentals.
2. Be Vocal
Communication is key! Be the loudest and clearest voice on the field-organizing your defense and calling plays shows leadership and confidence.
3. Show Great Attitude
Always hustle, stay positive, and support your teammates. Coaches love players with a strong work ethic and a team-first mindset.
4. Work on What Sets You Apart
Identify one area where you can shine-whether it’s diving, quick reflexes, or distribution-and make that your standout strength.
5. Practice Outside of Team Training
Dedicate extra time to improving your skills. Whether it’s solo drills, fitness, or watching tutorials, those little extra efforts make a big difference.
6. Stay Confident
Don’t let the competition get into your head. Focus on what you can do, and trust in your abilities. Remember, you’re on the team for a reason!
Keep working hard, and even if the competition is tough, you’ll show your coach why you deserve that spot. Good luck, and keep pushing yourself - you’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽🔥
How do I work on my power in my kicks
Do leg exercises which you can find on youtube.
Also work on your technique which you can find video about on youtube.
And lastly take all the time you have alone on the football pitch to train your kicks. Hope this helps.❤
That's great advice - thank you!
Hey buddy....
Squats, deadlifts, bulgarian split squats, romanian deadlifts, nordic hamstrings. These are all great for building strength.
Other than that it's about kicking the ball against a wall over and over and again to work on your technique
Ye that help me with my matches
Fantastic. I'm super happy to hear that! :)
Here’s how you can work toward more consistent performances:
1. Focus on Your Mental Reset
After conceding a goal or making a mistake, take a deep breath and reset. Tell yourself, “That’s in the past - focus on the next save.” Dwelling on a mistake can affect the rest of your game.
2. Build Your Concentration
Being a goalkeeper requires constant focus. During quieter moments in the match, stay engaged by analyzing the game - look at the positioning of your defenders and attackers or imagine different scenarios and how you’d react. This keeps your mind sharp.
3. Manage Your Emotions
It’s easy to feel down after a mistake, but try to stay positive. Remind yourself of the great saves you’ve already made and trust your abilities. Confidence is key to consistency.
4. Work on Your Physical and Mental Stamina
If you notice a drop in your performance as the match progresses, it could be fatigue-physical or mental.
Physically: Focus on fitness and endurance training. A stronger body can help you stay alert and react quickly.
Mentally: Practice staying calm under pressure during training. For example, simulate game situations where you must bounce back after conceding a goal.
5. Simplify Your Approach
For easy shots, don’t overthink or underestimate them. Stick to your basics - proper positioning, balanced stance, and keeping your eyes on the ball. Sometimes we lose focus because we expect easy saves to be automatic.
6. Accept That Mistakes Happen
No goalkeeper plays perfectly every match, even at the highest level. It’s not about being flawless-it’s about doing your best to recover and make the next save.
7. Post-Match Reflection
After the match, analyze what went well and where things slipped.
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping bro fr thank you so much I am trying these stuff in my next game on Thursday wish me luck ❤️🩹 continue with your hard works and U will achieve what you want your teaching a lot of players I am really glad that I found your channel keep it up I will always be the first person to interact with all the videos U post I also follow you in Instagram ❤️🩹
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping I tried these stuff especially the breathing part it ACC helped a lot and i didn't know it's that useful also thinking that it's in the past was helpful we won 5-1 and I saved a penalty Ty mate
Do you think I can make it as a goalie I’m in 5th right now and 4,10 not one of the tallest but not one of the smallest I can dive good
Absolutely, you can make it as a goalkeeper!
@ thank you I won’t give up

I've played it for 4'years this is my worst year yet and I always feel like I let my team down when I make a

Also tips on improving drop

Feeling like letting team
Down
Hey, I’m really sorry to hear you’re feeling this way - it’s tough, but I want you to know you’re not alone. Every goalkeeper goes through tough moments, and the position can feel really isolating sometimes. The fact that you’ve been playing for 4 years shows you have the commitment and love for the game, so don’t let one rough year take that away from you. Here are some tips to help:
1. Mistakes Are Part of the Game
Even the best goalkeepers in the world make mistakes - it’s just part of the position. The key is learning from them and moving on. Focus on why the mistake happened and how to improve, rather than beating yourself up.
2. Take the Pressure Off
You don’t have to carry the whole team on your shoulders.
4. Talk to Your Team
If negativity is getting you down, have an honest chat with your teammates or coach. Let them know how you’re feeling. You might be surprised by how supportive they can be once they know what you’re going through.
5. Focus on What You Can Control
You can’t control mistakes or criticism, but you can control your effort and attitude. Keep working hard in training, and don’t let negativity stop you from enjoying the game you love.
6. Take a Break if Needed
It’s okay to take a step back if you need time to reset mentally.
Thank you! I'll def look into these kind of videos
Let’s break it down, because there might be a way to help you regain your confidence or find what truly makes you happy:
1. It’s Okay to Take a Break
If being a goalkeeper is causing too much physical and emotional stress, it’s absolutely fine to step away for a bit or try another position. Your well-being is more important than anything else.
2. Address the Pain
Fingers Hurting: Make sure you’re using gloves with proper support and padding. If your fingers are constantly getting hurt, it might be worth seeing a doctor or physiotherapist to check for any underlying issues.
Consider practicing techniques that reduce strain on your hands, like parrying instead of catching for certain shots.
3. Talk to Someone
Share how you’re feeling with a coach, teacher, or family member. Sometimes just talking about it can make things feel a little lighter, and they might be able to offer help or support.
4. Explore Other Positions
Switching positions isn’t giving up-it’s about finding what makes you happy on the field. If you enjoy being outfield more, go for it! Football is about having fun, after all.
5. Don’t Let Negativity Win
If people are intentionally trying to hurt you, that’s not okay. Speak to your coach or someone in authority about what’s happening. You deserve to play in a safe and supportive environment.
6. Remember Why You Started
Think about what you love about football.
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping thanks but I've tried explaining to my friends and the coach but they all refuse so maybe I'll have to play in another team next year😥
No worries. Yeah, I should have included that in the list. Changing teams is also totally fine. I'll cover this in one of my next videos!
unrelated, but what do you think the ideal weight of a goalkeeper is if you are 5ft7 tall🧤
@ Thank you for your reply, I always look forward to your videos⚽️
Fantastic, buddy! :) That makes me happy!
what do i do when i physically cannot spread
That’s a great question! If you’re struggling to physically execute a spread save, don’t worry - it’s something you can work on over time with the right approach. Here’s what you can do:
Focus on Flexibility
Stretch Regularly: Start incorporating stretches like hip openers, butterfly stretches, and lunges into your routine to improve flexibility.
Dynamic Warm-Ups: Before training, do exercises like leg swings and side lunges to loosen up your hips and groin area.
Yoga or Mobility Work: These can work wonders for improving overall flexibility and range of motion.
Adapt Your Technique
If spreading wide is physically challenging right now, focus on techniques like the block save or a low dive to cover space. These can be just as effective in 1v1 situations.
Remember, goalkeeping isn’t just about one technique - it’s about finding what works best for you and maximizing your strengths. Keep working on it, and you’ll find your way! 🧤⚽🔥
Haha, i suck at goalkicks too
I dont have a lot of space to practice long high passes lol
Goal kicks suck ;)
Obviously, it's better to have a lot of space but it's possible to train it just focusing on the technique :)
I wish i had a team to play and train.
Have you searched for one?
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping Not really. There's just alot of players but way less teams. Which means tons of gk looking for a team. What are my chanses?
It's really difficult to say buddy. It really depends on your talent, attitude and work ethic. But I believe in you if that helps
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping I think i'm not that bad, i have the talent but inadequate training. And yeah, knowing that there's someone who believes in me helps :)
100%. Just commenting on these videos tells me that you really want this :)
I love goal keeping but my parentsake me focus on studies and dont even let me play football😢
I’m really sorry to hear that - it’s tough when you’re passionate about something but don’t have the full support to pursue it. Balancing studies and football can be challenging, but here are a few ideas that might help:
1. Show Them You Can Balance Both
Let your parents see that you’re responsible with your studies. If you stay on top of your schoolwork, they may be more open to letting you play.
2. Talk About Your Passion
Sit down with your parents and explain how much goalkeeping means to you. Share how it helps you stay healthy, focused, and disciplined - qualities that can also improve your studies.
3. Suggest a Trial Period
Ask if you can dedicate a small amount of time each week to football as a “trial.” Promise to keep your grades up during that time to show them you can handle both.
4. Practice at Home
If playing on a team isn’t possible, use your free time to practice solo in your backyard or with a wall. That way, you can still improve while focusing on your studies.
5. Stay Positive and Patient
This might be a temporary situation. Keep working hard in school, and once your parents see your dedication and ability to balance your priorities, they might come around.
Remember, many great goalkeepers started out in tough situations but found ways to keep their passion alive. Don’t give up - stay dedicated, and when the time is right, you’ll be able to show them what you’re capable of. 💪🧤⚽🔥
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping thank you soooo much man means a lot to me

@@GroundGloryGoalkeepingIt just sounded harsh which made it funny, but your not wrong at all, if the position really isn’t for you, then it’s almost guaranteed that you won’t make it.

Why do I know that I'm a good goalkeeper but always on matchday I feel stressed, slower and tbh worse than usually?
Hey buddy, I totally struggled with that when I was younger.
Have you watched my video on match day tips? ua-cam.com/video/G5yOYnzMUu8/v-deo.html
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping yes but I don't think the problem is with my preparation, I think it's becouse of the stress
Have you tried breathing before the game?
Positive self-talk?
And don't do it once and give up. You have to do it every game, maybe even before practice. Your mind requires practice just as your goalkeeping skills do.
It's about confidence I'm like that too bc it's a match it's important U get nervous @@Fsdk88
You can summon your defenders by saying “DEFENSE!” Or if they’re near, say “AWAYYY”
You can also take a deep breath before a game. And if you make a save, even a small one, take that as a win and use that to build confidence
