I loved the bit at the end when you showed them all cleaned up on the rotating display. I was blown away at how nicely the Super Hair Barbie and the two fakie pony’s cleaned up. I thought their hair was unsalvageable.
Also, I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about 80’s Barbie’s but I had never heard of Super Hair. She’s a fun doll!

Yes, I think the Super Hair Barbie is a forgotten hair play doll of the 80s. Her feature is pretts weird and does not work all that well (I had a hard time creating a hairstyle with that apparatus on her head😅) and she came with that "boring" white suit instead of a pretty dress. So I guess she didn't leave a big impact. 🤔

That is so funny, but I got a package with 15 mystery dolls and clothes that I bought for cheap yesterday, and so many of the Barbies you looked at in this video was in that package. Miko, Superhair Barbie (the one you picked up with the strange thing in her hair), Heart family mom, my first Barbie, a Skipper with cut hair, + +. Most of them with complete or almost complete outfits , and with beautiful hair. I also got (in an other package) Quick curl Barbie and Talking P.J. Inspired by your videos I also went to second hand shops this week, and I found two old Sindys, a Little Pretty Kitty, Windy wing pony Moon Jumper (sadly without her wings), MLP Baby Moondancer, MLP Gusty, some old Barbie clothes and shoes, and a Sad Sam Honey stuffy. My collection is growing rapidly, and I've only collected for a month (heeelp). I even have three Skooter dolls (one in each haircolour), and I have more packages on the way. Collecting vintage toys is so much fun. I collect Susie Sad Eyes, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, Barbie, Betty Teen Tong, Petra, Sindy, and some other dolls/toys here and there. And it all started with me finding all my old toys from the 80s in my parents attic. Love your videos :)
I like the sitting Lanard fakies too. They’re the only fakes I pick up when I see them. Very nice finds as usual! ☺️☺️ especially the g1 ponies, Love Letter is very pretty 💞

Haha~💖 I also kinda lost my mind when I saw all those 80s and 90s Barbies 🤩 but I need to be a little more resonable and not buy too too many Barbies at once, especially at these prices 😅
15€ is usually not a price I pay for a doll at flea markets 😖

Reminds me of the flea market I visited way back in Frankfurt. They were also like that. Started out pretty disappointing with the rain and all... I'm glad it turned out nice in the end with some nice finds ❤
Yes, funny how the flea market that I didn't have high hopes to begin with, turned out to be really successful for me 😊 and vise versa (well becuase of the rain).
I don't know... I have the feeling most parking lot flea markets in the "west" of Germany are similar to that. Lot's of new goods, lot's of profiessional vendors 🤷
I am always amazed how you can just look at a Barbie face and know who she is! I spend hours sometimes trying to figure them out. 😆🤓 I'm so glad the rain stopped for you that day so you could find all these treasures.
Love Letter is such a pretty pony! 💕 I've never heard of that one before. And interesting that pink Italian ponies tend to fade/bleach.

Hah~ yeah... sometimes I'm surprising myself how I can identify some Barbies at the spot 😆 but I can only di that for a small percentage of Barbies. And it's proof that I spend way to much time on Barbie websites all the time that my brain can memorize them by now 🤣 Usually I also need a website for identification. I use fashiondollz.de

The Romance Ponies were a 4 pony set that was released towards the end of the line in Europe. So they will be pretty rare in Canada or the US I believe. No wonder you are not that familiar with Love Letter 😉

Hallo Lau, ich bin jedes Wochenende auf Dortmunder Flohmärkten unterwegs. Bei der Rennbahn und bei der Metro war ich schon oft. Sehr interessant zu sehen das man auch auf dem Trödelmarkt bei Ikea coole Sachen finden kann. Dort lagen Star Wars und Masters Figuren auf den Tischen. Sehr schönes Polly Pocket Set das anscheinend fast vollständig ist. Cooles G1 Pony für 8 Euro, muss man als Pony Sammlerin mitnehmen. Das war bestimmt Dein Highlight. Werde den Flohmarkt bei Ikea demnächst besuchen. Viel Spaß mit Deinen Neuzugängen!
You are so lucky! I rarely find anything I'm interested in buying at the flea markets near me. I wish I could go to some of those flea markets because they had so many items that I would be interested in picking up. Plus the prices are often better than what people are asking here in California...
I got really lucky here, you are right. But this flea market was also not really near me 😆 It's around 4 hours via intercity train away~ haha ~but I was in that area because of the toy convention
But finding G1 ponies is also exceptional for me. It is soooo rare to find them out in the wild in my area.
But you know what? I'm also super jealous of your big thrift store chains. Goodwill, Savers, Salvation Army etc.... we have nothing like it and especially on Instagram I see people leave these stores with bags full of ponies, Polly Pockets, vintage Barbies 😱and so on. So I guess we always want, what we can't get~ haha
But I know at one point you will find great stuff on your flea markets or maybe in thrift stores or on an estate sale or garage sale or whatever! I know it and cross my fingers for you 🤞💗💗💗
@@LauSkypainter im also from california and the second hand finds are sooo dry here. goodwills nowadays take all the "good stuff" and put it on their online auction site so they can get more $$$. im in southern ca so im not really close to any savers either, and i agree with the other commenter that 9 times out of 10, flea markets are either devoid of stuff or everything is marked up way too high haha im always so envious when you find monster high and eah!

I always go back and forth weather I like Peaches and Cream or Dream Glow Barbie more. But seeing her now on my shelf at least for now Peaches and Cream is my absolute favorite 80s Barbie 😌🍑 hands down❣❣❣

When I saw the box full with Ponies I was like uuhhhh jackpot and you really cool this are mostly fakies and me infront of the screen WHAAAAATT😱😅 so far from my Pony knowledge 😂
So interessting that this second oe third fleamarket showed up online but was not there 🤔🙈 but yeah that happens to me too once. They canceled it last minute because of a storm but in the morning when I checked it was not signed as canceled but when I was there like no one showed up. One hour after the fleamarket usually started it showed on the homepage its canceled. Me who woke up at 6.45h to be there in time was a little pissed 😂😂 but yeah went then to thrift stores 🙈
You have a really good eye from that Kira doll that she is on the wrong body. I for sure would not have seen it because whenever I see a Kira (hard to find) I'm like do you want to come home with me? 😅

Yeees, the pony box... quite some real G4 and G3.5s but the rest all Fakies. It's the same as with Petra/Steffi Love/ clone dolls ~ when you are somewhat knowledgeable, they are easy to tell apart from real Barbie. Same with fakies💁🏼♀️
I think the organizers of these flea markets just don't update their online presence. It is very possible that this flea market is not happening anymore since a year or so... but when they don't take it out of the flea market websites 🤷🏼♀️
I usually use one websites that lists all flea markets in Germany. You can put your market there and add dates up to a looong time in the future. If you as the organizer don't take it down, then it will still appear all the time 😬

@@vintagegaudi I think I have 6 Kens, 1 Fred (Petras boyfriend) and the Heart Family dad. So 8 male dolls. In my opinion that's fine. Some I buy, some I leave.

I’m always surprised that you don’t find the reproduction ponys. In my country are everywhere, in all the flea markets.
Yes, I can imagine. But the Basic Fun ponies are not really sold in Germany. No store is selling them and even online I don't think that a lot of German online stores have them for sale. So, only pony collectors will own them here and they are obviously not selling them off at flea markets.

I love old toy hunting. But as a rule I only buy beat up figures. Not only is that cheaper buts it's my assurance that it's vintage. No toy 30+ years old should look mint. It could have been well preserved by a teen/adult collector but it could also be 3D printed and or re painted. Odds are high they will not resell a fixer upper toy for top price because they can't get it. And honestly that's how we remember our toys: used
I really like your approach.👌❣I also love toys the most that are in a "played with" condition. Does't mean I'm not gonna restore a toy as best as I can and also doesn't mean I will reject a toy in a very good condition but it's crystal clear that a 35 year old toy will not look like it came out of the box. Well, I think with girl toys there is not a high risk of finding repros or 3D printed things (I guess the action figure community is different in that way) but I find it charming to give a toy it's new home after beeing played with and fixing the hair of dolls or ponies or polishing the outside of a Polly Pocket compact to bring it back to it's full glory. This is half the fun after all ☺
Since, this is what toys are made for: beeing played with by children. One of the reasons I'm not too big into modern toys made for the adult toy collector market or reproductions.
It doesn't give me anything to be the "first owner" of a toy.🤷♀
@@LauSkypainter I agree 💯 I don't mind repaints as most in the collecting circle are honest about repaints but one guy was busted for doing 3D figures and passing them as originals. And even if a kid in the 70s-90s wanted to keep a figure odds are he/she threw them in a shoe box or something. Then just normal ageing and time will take over. With ponys I imagine the hair is hard to fake. Must be cool to find the tiny combs as well I bet they are tough to find

Like in the wild? You just need to be lucky and at the right time at the right space. Hit flea markets often and early. Same goes for thrift stores, charity shops etc. Go often! But it is pure luck if you come across them. Also depends where you are from.
Or are you talking about online? Cheap and online are 2 words that don't cross very often. 😬
Watch ebay, vinted, Kleinanzeigen, market place, Offer-up or whatever the local webistes might be in your country. Search for My little Pony all the time. Multiple times per day. Search in different languages, search for "horse" or "play horse" and be creative and be fast when something cheap comes up. Immediately buy it or contact the seller (depending on the website you are using) and be knowledgeable about My Little Pony. You need to recognize ponies in big toy lots or recognize a rare variate just by a small blurred image etc.
Be involved in the pony community, get to know collectors that sell or trade, go to pony conventions, toy shows etc. if they are happening in your area.
And know your pony prices. Which pony is common and not worth a lot anyways? Which ponies are worth more? Don't overpay but you need to be aware that you will not come across tons of pones for pennies or euros or single dollars.
Not all fakes are fakes. Lanard is a big company in the USA; they released the My Little Ponies line in 1984. So not all fakes are some kind of Chinese fakes. It's just a different company. I'm familiar with Lanard because I collected jet setters dolls from Lanard.
