Basic Education Bill | Changes to powers of SGBs

Changes to Basic Education laws are being considered by a parliamentary committee. The amendments include giving sweeping powers to provincial education heads. This will effectively remove the powers of School Governing Bodies. Government will be responsible for admission and language policies. Agree with teachers are not the parents of the learners. The parents need to take responsibility for their child's education.
