Andy, absolutely brilliant work. That thing is a little beast!! I held my breath when you were testing the temp of the motor. I think it will be absolutely fine in this winter but maybe attach a temp probe to it when it gets warmer
I told you the Sabvoton would be a different beast, But, as I said, just play with the throttle curve and you'll be good. Don't go to far otherwise you'll cook that motor. Everyone was harping on about gearing, honestly though, That cog is already so small that lifting the front wheel with the right tune in it is what I would expect, the only thing I would worry about is the motor temp really and that would be it, barring the battery that is. Good on ya Andy, sticking to the end.
You're lucky to have access to all those different parts and stuff... If I had that stuff just sitting around, that would have been the first thing I did before riding the bike. LoL
Awesome build.... I'm jealous of the Sabvaton and battery setup, very cool. 😁👍
andy how much did all that setup cost mate
£250 and £430 500 w stomp wired ua-cam.com/video/t52aebFKsaM/v-deo.html
Mxr800w Mxr1000 look stomp wired 17 mph at 500w so Said, online or NRG1500w dirtbike pricey £940
This is the sort of power I want from my bike, it's mental.
I had a folding 250w bike but the frame broke so I've strapped it to my old full suspension 24 inch bike and it rips with 1kw and I've got some new parts coming to get it to 3.5kw peak but the motor is still 250w so it heats up quickly but with my tiny 4 mile range battery it doesn't get too hot
It wont be long till Andy becomes the Surron man of the UK mark my words - he will be getting one and upgrading it to 72V DIY ASAP!
That’s what I want to see!!
OMG!! You have done it again!!! What a fun bit of kit.
2 questions Andy
How fast does it go now?
How much did the total build cost you so far?
Keep the the great content buddy!!!!
Awsome bro, looks like a success..Be safe and give us more on this..👍🏽That instant wheelie performance may need to be turned down some..Awesome as always!
Brilliant! That looks such fun!
Man well done on the conversion that bike rips would love one of these, don't know why they don't make them in a higher power version as stock, maybe sometime in the future these will be out at a decent price. Nice vids smart guy.
How much did it all cost , might try build one , could you do a build guide
imagine between 3-6k £
Awesome video mate, sweet little bike! Any idea when the Vapour frame/motor/battery kit will be back in stock on Cloudsto?
Excellent thats the results im looking for on my son's bike
Ace !! Well done Andy ! You should build them and sell them 👍🏻
Andy that is so awesome your making me want one i can`t wait to see more next time 👍😁
I knew you'd figure it out Andy. Nice one mate. Keep up the vids 🤙
that looks and sounds really fast now :) nice one
Interested to see what you can do on that Fiido folder as i might get one if its worth it.
Wow that has some power now what a great upgrade.
I would love to see what Sam Pilgrim could do with this bike.
It would be epic
@@SKBKER - Literally, everything he does is "going to be epic"¡! 😂
send it for a shedding
Speak of the Devil.... He just uploaded like 35 minutes ago, on an e-moto. 🤣🤣🤣
Ready for a shreddie EPIC 😂👍🙋♂️🏴
That looked so much fun 😃😃😃👍👍Thanks...
Wow that was awesome' you got that little bugger really ripping don't you!👍🍻🤙👋👋
I have a sabvoton 72150 I have to hook up to a Motenergy ME1114 and wanted to know the color combination that you used for the phase/hall wiring.
This was hilarious to watch.
Make a guide :-
How to turn a kids electric bike into a 10KW Beast
Very nice - pretty sure I am not the only one wanting one!
how is its chain and set keeping up ? no grinding wear and tear and no chance of snapping ?
Lean forward when accelerating, should stop the wheelieing and give you plenty of backspin.😎
How do you think this would would this perform with the Sabvoton controller and the original 48v battery ? did you sort out a way around the charging ? and in your first video you say you had problems with putting the bike together was this to do with wheel/ brakes ?
Holy shit 😂 Andy your a madman 💪🏻top speed test video ? How much is the controller and 72v to convert to this?
Is it possible to fit a gyroscopic sensor in there somehow, so as the front wheel gets too high it restricts the motor stopping you from flipping off backwards. That way you can keep that throttle open pulling serious power wheelies!!
Hi Andy buddy iv just ordered a cheep Chinese 72v 2000w controller and intended using 6 of the 36v bosch batteries u use will this work to get close to what you have done to this bike ?
Andy i have a 48v 1500w on my cube 29er what's the biggest battery I can put on at the minute it's got a 17.5 and has to be charged every other day
What would you say is the top speed the motor specifically can handle? Cheers
Hi Andy, where can I get a lifepo4 60v 19s 3.2 bms and lifepo4 72v 23s 3.2 bms from for a lifepo4 battery build?
Fantastic Stuff! you might find a cheaper Chinese controller might be the sweet spot, smaller and less expensive as well, I think the motor will get very hot in the spring and summer though so I would put a temp sensor on it and use it as a cutout or warning device, you certainly dont want to run side panels, you could even used forced air to the motor via a fan, maybe from the top down if there isnt enough room, keep an eye on the motor shaft and sprocket, in my experience over the years I have seen these shred the key ways and pins fairly quickly when overpowering, also you might find the point inside the motor where they solder the phase wires to the motor windings will come unsoldered as the joint will run hot, worth remaking them, crimping and soldering them, you might also replace the hall sensors for something better quality, the cheap Chinese ones tend to fail with over temp, I always used Honeywell ones.
I think it will be fine in winter whilst its freezing but it will roast in the summer, great job though mate, looks like so much fun, oh and the miserable people, I encounter them on my legal ebikes, they seem to think that they have ownership of cycle paths, I stopped saying anything to them, if you dont say anything they still mutter stuff at you, if they have to hold their dog by the collar as you pass they expect a thank you for that for some reason? on paths where the fucking dogs should be on a lead!
any suggestions where to start with a cheaper chinese controller ,wattage etc ?
Nice one Andy , that goes like stink now . Good job 👍
That little thing is mental 72v and those amps on large wheeled ebike is wheelie prone .. with those little wheels the torque must be epic on that little ripper
So would it be possible to use this set up on a bigger bike with a possibility of getting it registered as a motorbike. Could save a fortune on build costs.
Keep up the great work.
Brad
Have you tried gearing it slightly like the Sur Ron?
Looks like you want about 80amps max at launch in your curve, anything over that should come in once you get over a low speed threshold say 30km/h?
This things a monster, no surprise there though, those motors are rated for a fair chunk of power. Keen to see what you do for a battery for this one.
Keep ripping it up man!
Nice!!!! CRAZY power!!!!!!
bloody hell mate that is a beast
Love it. Good work.
Wow is all I can say lol but looks like you need to tune the suspension abit, that will handle the extra power you have given it
I teach a bunch of kids drone racing and we got them a little xtm 500 to play about on and would love to upgrade it but I have no clue
I've got a question maybe you could help? I have a 1000 watt front wheel drive motor with a 13.5ah battery at 48v. However it just seems sluggish setting off etc and even after 1 journey of around 6 miles of use I'm down half a battery. Surely that isn't right? Bad cells in the battery maybe? Baring in mind the battery is brand new and probably a month old now. How can I make it better quicker and more responsive?
Does anyone have a link to buy this bike and controller?
question i think is valid for us noobs , i see heatsink/fins can be added to a hub motor to keep it cool ,but can any sort of adjustments be made to a crank/chain powered motor ?
Would you supply the battery pack and BMS bro that thing is crazy
Hi Andy please could you tell me what DIY ebike parts I would need to achieve 60+ mile range for an ebike build as I want range rather than speed. Hope you can help cheers loving the videos 👍
you just need a bike frame that can fit a large battery ( can be either shop bought or self made ) ... thats the hard part though because many frames are not suitable. I have turned a road bike ( tour de france sort of thing ) into an ebike before but it was not recommended because without suspension it feels very rough. To do 60 miles you need a battery capacity of around 1.5 to 2 KWH ( at 15 mph mode ), in other words the battery has to be able to output 2000 watts for an hour, worth of energy. 48v 30ah or 72v 20ah.
Anyone have a link to a good price on the Sabvoton controller used?
This is really cool
Where did you get it from
Would love to know the battery specs? Great work
Where can i find some one to do this to my bike in the uk
Hey andy just curious if this thing is still kicking you and a couple others are a huge inspiration for me starting my own channel. I have a mototec in the US but ive always like the style of the renegade with the motor seperate from the swing arm 🤙
How much for you too do this to my exact version of this bike
To make it exactly like the video many thanks
bro What controller should I use to see info like yours?
It would be interesting to see what it does up against similar bike with a gas engine on it! I bet it will smoke the gas engine at takeoff I don't know about top-end because of gearing but even if it's all one gear that thing must turn over some pretty high RPMs and with the right rear sprocket and front sprocket and with that electric motor I'm almost positive you can smoke a gas motor all the way around it's got so much power at takeoff even if you geared it for top-end it would still have plenty taking off. I actually bet it's fun as hell trail riding with it. I want one I haven't looked yet but I hope you put a link to what motor and controller you're using if not please comment back and let me know what exactly you're using for the setup. Thanks be careful and have a blast on that thing I would. I bet you could put that on like a 125 dirt bike frame something bigger 4 people are size and it would still be plenty of juice what's the ride time how long can you run for before it's dead?
Got a link to the bike?
A supermoto wheel-set in this would be really nice
hi there how much did the whole electric dirtbike cost?
Will you do a rebuild vid of the battery? Going to get one of these ordered!!! What size sabvaton is it?
Yep filming it now.👍🏼
Hello mate, we’ve got an XTM MX-PRO, 1300w 48v from xtreme toys (14” & 12” wheels). What do I need to make it perform like yours? Mechanic to trade, deff not an electrician but no issues splicing wires etc. I assumed I’d need a bigger motor & battery, but any suggestions would be much appreciated! Great videos BTW! Thanks, Mike
Could get a FLIR Thermal camera for testing battery/motor heat @ 10:42 🤘😀🤘
... or realtime sensors mounted on the handle bar.
Great video Andy! What app did you use to get the readings? As I also have a Sabvoton Controller. Thanks!
It's a smart BMS 👍🏼
What size is the motor
I want a go LOL! My escooter will pop wheelies quite easily in 3rd gear from a standing start :P
Same here
Nice work. That motor is a beast.
It's good isn't it. Very impressed with it under some decent power
@@andykirby yeah! I got one of these(link below) on ali for $80 to put on a razor mx500 but it heats up pretty fast when I push about 100amps through it. I am thinking of putting a bunch of aluminum heat sinks on it like the hubsink guys.
www.amazon.com/dp/B0855LXRSF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_HRTYB57F9EKXR6D3WSJ7
The heat sinks will defo help. I think this motor will be getting way hotter in the summer as it was a very cold day on that test run! I could do with finding out where to get replacements for these motors then it could be modded to maybe handle the heat better😀
@@andykirby yeah. Send me a link when you do.
Awesome!
fun bike turned into coolest death machine ever lol
Got to see more of this :)
You will!
Now do the same with the 250w folding bike you have been running around on Andy 😁
Don't tempt me!
@@andykirby Do it we are waiting in anticipation ... 😁
Yes DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!
That's AWESOME
wish i could try a 72v battery, would love to compare a 72v to a 48v, is there really a difference, can someone tell me about those?
difference is in the maximum power that it can produce on an equivalent motor. you could create a high power motor that runs at 24v but it would be bigger and more amps, thats my experience with mobility scooters anyway. it also affects the way the battery is constructed in terms of arrangement of cells, which may be more convenient at 72v than 36v arrangements. Running the motor at a higher voltage than its designed for will probably generate more heat i.e. be less efficient, if not shorten its lifespan / risk of failure, these ebike motors seem pretty good in that regard though, resilient.
Can change my g51 ebike display for a another one without changing the controller if anyone could tell me much appreciated
SICK!
At around the 8 minute mark that looked really quick heh
Beast!
Unleashed the animal !
How much did the the battery cost
what is the max speed?
Great job, anyone know which Sabvoton controller this is?
I would like to know too
A super 73 vid would be cool 😉
Dude any idea on how crazy it would be with a torque converter on it
Mental. Pretty cool tho. Makes me want a go!
Bloody nuts, but I love it!!
If it feels dangerous, its good haha.
You did a good job hahaha
Is that the standed motor ?
Should come with a warning label for "MAY CAUSE I WANNA THAT SYMPTOMS"
So that's the stock 48volt brussless motor?
What version of Sabvoton did you use? 72150?
Yep!
I wish I had your electrical knowledge.
Hey Andy .. I have a mototec 1500 electric bike .. I already added a subvoton and I wanna build a lifepo 88.8v pack . Can I run the subvoton at 72v . Also is there a bms for something like that …
You should stretch it a few inches. With it being longer it should help keep that front wheel down some maybe
Well this settles phaserunner vs sabvaton for me since i was been wondering about that for awhile
Phaze runner could never stack up to a Sabvoton as the Phaze runner is a medium power device the Sabvotons are generally high power...
@@GapRecordingsNamibia im inbetween the 2 worlds phaserunner is obviously cheaper and it being featured in the recent 2500w build his friend did got me intrested but this video cleared it up for me whats the benefits of either side
@@NaNFeArIngAmES Hi, yes the phaze runner is cheaper, the reason as I stated previously is because it is a medium power device mostly 4 to 6Kw max capable, the sabvotons are high power from the smallest which do 8Kw medium to 12Kw max up to the bigger sabvotons that are capable of 20+ Kw, then you have the kelly controllers that can hand out all the way up to 30Kw. On the other side of the extream you can get a nucular controller russian made that can dish out to 30Kw on bursts but they can do on board charging at up to 3Kw this is a charger controller combo.
Link for controller ? I’ve been modifying razor electric dirt bike, it’s time for a 72v 10k set up on one lol
Just a guess it's a sabvoton 72120. Dunno if Andy has stock, but if not, you can find them on good old aliexpress (stick with the qs shop)
I need one of these
Thats more like it 👍
Very noisy for sabvoton controller Isit the hub make that noise?
It's the chain drive, I love the sound!
