- Jax and Brenda have finally returned to Port Charles and stop by Ned and Lois's to tell them about their marriage. Lois tells Brenda what happened to Lily. Brenda is shocked and tells Jax that she he has to go to Sonny and rushes out the door. When Brenda arrives at Sonny's, he is still sitting in the dark with empty bottles all over, still in his black t-shirt and as despondent as ever. Brenda's voice does get through to him though. He tells her what happened and then breaks down in her arms.

A character would die and it would effect all of the characters in some way. Stone and Lily's deaths were so sad.

Oh, poor Sonny! Love that despite Brenda being married to Jax, she went to Sonny. Loved those two back then!always liked the close friendship between Luke and Sonny.

I loved the friendships back then, though, I don't really consider Jax being part of the gang at that time. I absolutely adored the Sonny, Brenda and Lois threesome. The 94/95 era was the best.

Never have any good relationships anymore. Never let anyone be good, solid and devoted without turning them into shadows of themselves. Look what they did to Brenda, Luke, Lucky and even Robert. If emma samms was not coming back he could have had someone totally new instead of Anna. Those two just didnot belong, especially after what Anna did and was willing to do to Holly who was suppose to be Roberts true love. I think Holly would of accepted it if it was anyone other than Anna.

Sonny never loved Lily. It was always Brenda. Lily was a serious Rebound.
Nah, he was never in love with Lily. He may have loved her as a person but theirs was a loveless marriage and Lily knew that. There’s a big difference. He was completely in love with Brenda, before, during, and after his marriage to Lily.
I always think Sonny tried to love Lily.
But his true passion and the one that he wanted to be with was Brenda
Just because he wasn't high on Lily the was he was with Brenda, didn't mean that he didn't love her....she was important to him and he loved her.
I don't think people have the attention span in the "Reality Tv" era we're in for this kind of story telling anymore so I don't even know if the blame should fall squarely on the writers for how low the current quality of this show is in comparison to 1996. Whatever the case maybe, early to mid 90s GH was absolutely awesome and I miss it.
You hit the nail on the head. I do blame the writers because of course, they have agency on the show but yes, the audience's short attention span is definitely to blame. They'll just move onto another show if they find storylines to be too "long".
GH was excellent back then. The writers, the actors all worked magic in soap stories.

Gh was soooooo good. This was such a wonderful time for the show the best since prob luke and Laura's hey day. I thought it got good again around 2010 to 2011. The zacharas jasams .wedding jonathan Jackson came back Jake's storyline brenda returned lisa niles stalking robin and patrick lulu and dante Michael in prison a lot of good stuff. Gh today is terrible theirs no movement pacing or good writing and everyone is basically gone .

When it comes to Sonny vs Jax, Jax will always will be sloppy seconds. The minute Brenda heard about what happened she ran to aid Sonny feelings despite just marrying Jax. Carly would do the same thing. Jax needs a woman who wasn't interested or tied to Sonny or he'll never be happy.

I'd say the three times gh was great were luke and Laura hey day, 95 to 98 with the cassadines turning sonny brenda and Jax triangle birth of jason Morgan ( I hated how he treated the qs but at least Steve finalky got a storyline . He was the joey Buchanan of gh ) aj getting Carly pregnant with Michael , Nikolas and lucky becoming young leading men just great characters Helena played by constance towers, alexis Stefan Carly nik lucky Lois Jax jason Morgan all characters created during this time period. The next Era of gh that was really good was 2009 to 2011 the Zacharas particular johnny Dante and lante return of Jonathan Jackson as lucky and him reading Liz to filth was one of my favorites ever . The Spencer crew with luke lucky lulu and Ethan ( I really liked him amd his different son chemistry with luke ) jasam reunited as bonnie and Clyde getting in shootouts the Jax Carly sonny brenda custody thing just brenda returning always inspires great writing . Her return in 02 was fantastic . Michael going to prison was interesting alexis giving my second favorite roasting of Carly about jax. The show was just realky good .

amytx1999 he was talking about her being presumed dead in the 80's she was believed to have drowned and luke searched until someone said they saw a young blonde lady floating in the water which destroyed him I think it was a year after that she returned the exact scene they are discussing gh luke and Laura 1981/1982 playlist 541 what it looks like when a man that truely loved his wife grieves.
