    The Goan sheero is a healthier version of sheera as it has less sugar and ghee. Worth trying out. Another plus point is that it would be a good option for those on a diet who want to enjoy a tasty dessert!

    I made the Shera this morning and it turned out to be perfect.Thank you for the preciseness with which you explained and the perfect proportions
    I added a little more ghee-two tablespoons I felt it was a little dry
    And a little less sugar ie one tablespoon

    Sheera was made on all ekadashi at our home. This preparation is a sheer delicacy- made in Goan style. Keep up Veena . Your channel is getting more and more popular.

    Hi Veena, Another unique style of making delicious mouth watering sweet Sheera and Sheero recipe. When I was growing up my dear Mom used to make back home. I didnt have that recipe. That was soo delicious. Now you have put yr recipe here im going for it. So easy to understand step by step. Thank you soo very much for both ways of preparing Sheera and Sheero. 🙂👍

    Evokes nostalgic memories of childhood and the question we asked our mother each evening, "What's for tea?" If the response was sheero, that was met with excitement. The aroma of roasted rava and the cardamom seasoning would usually be a clue. Thanks for this great video Veena.

    Wow,!! Two different sweets from 2 parts of India!!! So similar but yet different!!! Similarities overpower all our differences! That's India! Keep going Veena!!! Do the sheeros become like ' vadis'???

      Thanks a lot for the appreciation, Sunila, and your support. Yes, the Sheero can be easily cut into soft vadi-like pieces. The consistency could be compared to barfi pieces. (Not to their milky taste, though!)

      Yes, John. You can make your own variations to the basic recipe. Some people even add pieces of mango or mango pulp to these recipes and make mango sheero or mango sheera!

      Oh yes, you can, Grace. The colour of the dishes will be slightly different, and you'll get the distinct taste of jaggery. But the dishes will be delicious.

      It should preferably be the normal rava for sheera. But for sheero, any kind of rava will do.
