I've had different granite trim in my home (kitchen and stairways) in the last 25 years and I can say granite IS NOT acid resistant....it's very sensible to all liquids(water too) ,it's better dry up all surfaces to avoid stains

But granite may have inherent radioactive element content which can cause cancer... In Europe this is the main cause of cancer... So you should check all elemental distribution of any kind of rocks which you are using in your house
