No need for landline, works perfectly with just cell phone with bluetooth. Also, with the phones I tried, it autoconnects via your bluetooth when you get home, you don't have to re-pair the phone.

Bought the DS6611 model bluetooth connected fine but no calls come in over cellphone not sure why.

This doesn't seem to be working for me. I even installed vtech "Connect to cell" app. It let's me view the caller ID from my phone and such but no setting I've found allows me to place or make a call with my cell phone. Any trick to it? Galaxy s20 5g
How you connected the phone? I connected it to power and to router (phone jack). I do not have home line and that what I see on Vtech screen " No home line". I tried connect iPhone to Bluetooth but neither phone nor iPhone see device. When I push button Phone1 I get message No Bluetooth devise is ready for connection. I guess Vtech has to be connected to Wi-Fi and is not?

39rbadams no, it's a Bluetooth connection, so you just pair with your phone via Bluetooth, however this doesn't work for iPhone 7
