Filipino children are encouraged to sing and dance as young as babies. If they bounce to a tune or make baby sounds to music or just react animatedly to music, they receive praise, joy and encouragement. Nobody shushes them. Maybe this is also one reason Filipinos are generally happy.

Here in the Philippines you can sing the whole day but you have to stop at 10pm for every one have to sleep.And when you wake up you can already singing after breakfast until you want to stop it.hahahaha we're happy people here!

I am a public school teacher here in the Philippines. I used to let my pupils sing at the same time they also practice reading the lyrics of the song.
True when we were younger I remember we sing and recite the songs and our teacher ask to reflect the meaning of the songs

believe or not most filipino households has karaoke machine in their house if not there's radio turn the volume up, every Sunday most family and friends we gathered altogether after while the music will slowly turn on then someone will grab microphone an start to sing while some are drinking there rum 😅😅😅 in my house most my siblings takes after my father who is good at sing while i takes after my mom who is deaf tune 😅😅😅 so if you have filipino friends just turn on the R&B music observed them little by little their foot start bouncing with music and start singing although your talking to them but they suddenly sing and laugh 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's very common to see Filipinos sing & dance. My grandma used to sing "kundiman" songs while ironing clothes. Music is a big part of our culture. You should visit the Philippines, go island hopping tours, try diff. food, go to exotic islands...i'm sure you will have a great time. Filipinos are very hospitable, english is our 2nd language so you will never fee "lost". I had a great childhood there. Someday i'd like to visit the Philippines again. Greetings from Orlando, FL.

Filipinos are trained to sing subconsciously. Way back in 60's, my parents used to sing in putting my younger siblings to sleep while swaying the 'duyan'😀
