I did party with some Latinos at The Box, but there weren't a lot there. The ones I met who were not there seemed to be on a whole other type of house. Our's included more disco, jazz, soul, funk with tracks coming later. They seemed to embrace the newer sound of house that relied heavily on tracks and beat machines versus the soul, funk, etc that us Hardy heads enjoyed. We used to call it B96 music. Big ups to Liz Torres. I still beat Mind Games by Carl Bias with Liz on vocals.
The word used is "contributed", and it fits. I started at WCYC Radio in 1985, while Kenny Jason of WGCI and The Hot Mix 5 was serving as Program Director. He named me to succeed him in 1987. Yes, in the beginning there was Jack, but soon Jack was joined by a number of Latin performers, DJs and producers. Of course, Latino influences were also felt via Radio listeners, concert goers, and in supportive roles behind the scenes at Record Labels, Clubs, and Radio programmers....

Latinos had nothing to do with the creation of FBA house music. Stop it already.💯
