I interviewed for him in 68.' i don't expect to get my tapes back.. I just learned how they edited his Sgt. Pepper's album. Frank was a gentleman. Glad I got to spend time with him. Did they edit the Beatles version too? Why not?
7 miss Zappas' presence in my world. I saw him live so many times growing up. We were young, and it never occurred to us, then, that there would come a time when our music icon's models would ever die, so young even. . We didn't look so far ahead into the future, Now we are losing many of our musicians we loved, and it is a hard loss every time 😮 It is nostalgic to hear his voice again today. All my records were stolen a long time ago, all my Zappa collection, some signed by him. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 🙌🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Frank missed out on so much. He wrote about Johnson, Nixon, Reagen, Bush, but he never got to see Clinton, Bush II, Obama, Trump and Whover is in there now.
I’ve thought about this a lot lately. It’s very interesting to me all the people in comments saying how their politics represent his views, and/or how his views would be representative of their politics today… Many “interesting” assumptions, but then this is very human. That’s to say, it’s a judgment on my part, harsh even if I’m being honest, but not so much a value judgement towards them as individuals. ✌️

@@bigfootpegrande I'll never understand why so many seem to express this ill-thought out position. It's as if the thought process goes something like, "Smoking leads to cancer, and cancer is what killed FZ (RIP). Therefore, he caught his cancer from his smoking habit. Don't smoke, kids". Do all of you who say such things believe, mistakenly, that Zappa died from lung cancer? Or do you think that smoking cigs is also a leading cause of cancer of the prostate?
@@DrMackSplackem You may be right, it might be a matter of coin toss, but Zappa's Studio Tan (or lack of it - lack of vitamin D), overall feeding, sleeping and smoking habits could have played a role in his cancer. I know smoking is highly correlated with lung and other head and mouth cancers, but it also seems to be tied with PC as you can search for a Harvard health announcement titled "Smoking tied to more aggressive prostate cancer"... Frank the Truthsayer such a great informed mind. A true champion of the people. He is missed for so much more than just his
music.

Awesome thank you.

Co de Kloet is a great radio maker and swell guy. Check out his book Zappa & Co., well worth the read
Brilliant !!!
Frank's interviews are priceless. I know he did not like to be interviewed.
Thanks Frank

Problems in Philly, Detroit and DC over voter registration? My, my, my! Who could imagine?!
I registered voters in PA & NC & VA since January 6th 2021! No problem @ all and so much fun! 2024 will be wild! Many Zappa fans too!❄️🌎❄️
'....there was some fruit 🍑🍓 trees here...'...FZ❄️🌍❄️ Cointel was/is evil AF! Thanx for posting this! ❄️🌎❄️
Jesus. His comments about voter registration were unnervingly prophetic of the present day.

Theres more trouble coming every day.
Now there´s republican groups in Texas going to minorities´s homes and taking their registration card...

So notable the citizenship side of the man...
I have this tapes, recorded at the time they were broadcasted by Co de Kloet, vpro radio, long time ago...
Was this Frank's 50 years birthday?
Good quality but sounds a little sped up though.
Voting is the illusion of choice
Nope. It is a real choice but you expect too much out of it.
How much are you getting paid to leave comments like this?
Yes and no. If people would learn to vote strategically, and use the right tactics against the Duopoly, we could get somewhere.

I want names. Who were the toddlers in "The Best Band I Never Heard in My Life".
I'm on the west coast and the 1988 band never made it here.
Everyone except Scott Thunes and Mike Keneally, especially Ed Mann and the horn section.
Ironic how many of Frank's fans become the plastic people he wrote about or in internet parlance NPCs.

Its a good interview because it's Frank... But's a little sad how theFrank's dry humor is lost on the interviewer.

@@bigfootpegrande True, Zappa had pretty bad eating habits and was quite sedentary, which didn't help.
