    Gotta love it when you join a party that doesn’t use the villagers or the dragonator/splitting shot. Also in between hordes of an installation is low on health, I just recall it, then put it back and it’ll be back at full health

    Counter Signal is useful to do some sub-assignments with autos like villagers/bamboo bomb/wyvern fire. Just hit them until they almost die and let the autos finish them off. But mostly people just use that to kill all the monsters.
    Do not use wyvern riding to repel other monsters if theres any sub-assignments for autos like what i mentioned above, or repel using installations. All the monsters given are limited, and you won’t want to repel them all for nothing.
    Prioritize sub-assignments means get more tickets.
    When an Apex calls 3 more monsters at the last defense gate. You can call Utsushi to make them all mountable, everyone would know that, but if you want to make it worth, dont just all 3 consecutively attack the Apex. If im riding one of the 3 - I would wait for others to finish their mount punisher - then after that ill start stacking my punisher, so you can topple the Apex twice and 3 other teammates can hit it freely. You have plenty of time while riding after all.

  • @PiroMunkie

    Far too few people focus the gatecrashers (blue house icon). It's entirely possible to hold off monsters in the rampage from ever breaking through the first barrier until the Apex comes and smashes the first main gate automatically. That allows you to keep the rest of the monsters in a nice, small killbox and will speed up your rampages a bit. Maps that have a splitting wyvernshot in the first section are the best at this.
    Not that rampages are remotely difficult, but there still seems to be a wide breadth of how easy some are versus others and it all comes down to the hunters you're with. Sometimes the monsters never make it through the first barrier until the Apex comes out, other times the first wave somehow makes it to the final gate and you're sitting there wondering what other people are even doing.

    • @YokaiNox
      @YokaiNox  3 роки тому

      True true..pretty much one of the biggest points of me making this video.
      as soon as you get a grasp of how to go about it, rampages become laughably easy at this point in Rise.
      Will be interesting to see how the difficulty ramps up.
      You can literally set things up, in a way that you can watch the NPC's beat the entire rampage for you (with the exception of a few Apex ones) lol kinda hillarious

  • @giggitygooquag

    During a solo rampage, do you switch weapons/equipment? for example, do you start with status LBG first, and then just before apex monsters shows up, switch to Hammer?

    • @YokaiNox
      @YokaiNox  3 роки тому

      I do swicth out weapons depending on what i start with when doing rampages solo. It'll also depend on wether or not i think i can get the S+ Rank without finishing all side objectives.
      For example if i see the status one up first, I'll either go LBG, DB,Sns, or Bow..knock that out asap and finish the first horde than Farcast back and switch before going back in (is like a 20sec thing, so not bad).

    I recommend making a dedicated Rampage buddy
    Assist palico is pretty good for rampage. Palamute just does not have the utility that palico's have for rampage
    -all have felyne silkbind which slows down large monsters
    -all have poison trap, so can slow down monsters and inflict poison status
    some good other support moves
    -shock tripper, inflicts thunderblight (inflict blight challenge)
    -shock trap, slow down monsters
    -flash bombay, knock down those flyers, interrupt monsters
    -anti-monster mine, damage and sometimes stagger monsters
    get one with status attack up and ko king and equip them with something like Felyne jelly shade s that has paralysis and blunt damage so you can get those paralysis and stuns. slow down monsters plus help with completing those rampage challenges

    Would love a part 2. Maybe some tips about the NPCs you can put down. Like how Utsushi will be available when the apex summons its goons for easy rides. Or that Iori can inflict Iceblight. Or not putting down Fugen during prep time because he’ll just be wasted on the first flier that enters.

      You're right on the money ^_^ working on a few ideas for a 2nd part to this. Depending on things go it might be one of the next projects.
      Rampage footage is pain to capture tho 😂

    • @Nathan-xv4gr
      @Nathan-xv4gr 3 роки тому +3

      A few exceptions to that- Fugen returns at level 9 stronghold, so you can throw him down directly before that and easily get him back. In addition, Utsushi is avaliable when the 90-second counter signal (near start of Apex fight) reaches 40 seconds, and doesn't seem to render all monsters mountable unless none of the monsters avaliable have been mounted. Thus, if someone else has already mounted a monster, you can just save him for later (around 350 left on the final counter signal, another wave of monsters comes that you can mount, if it goes that late).

    • @Nathan-xv4gr
      @Nathan-xv4gr 3 роки тому

      Utsushi also doesn't come out during rampages missing a horde with the boss (i.e. Ibushi).

  • @zerobudgetgamer
    @zerobudgetgamer 3 роки тому +15

    Going off of the Wyvernshot tip, I notice a lot of hunters are sleeping on the Kilns. Inbetween phases, if you're not messing with installations, you should totally stoke the Kilns to restore Dragonator uses, yet in my experience I seldom see anyone but me and maybe one other person stoking them. Also, it may not be as flashy, but stoking the kilns mid-fight can be massive, as every 3 or 4 scoops you lower the cool down of all dragonators, wyvernshots, and recovering installations, and it only takes about 6 or 7 of those popups to fully restore a dragonator. I've had a couple Apex and Ibushi fights now where I've seen 3 or even 4 wyvernshots go off!
    I'm sure someone could show me math saying that a hunter's direct contribution to an Apex fight, specifically during counter signal, gives more raw DPS than stoking kilns does, but to me nothing is more satisfying than skewering these monsters relentlessly and then nuking them from orbit, so the more chances I can get to do that, the better.

    • @YokaiNox
      @YokaiNox  3 роки тому +4

      Indeed! I'm doing Rampages pretty regularly and i still dont see alot of people going for the Kilns very much..
      The satisfying feeling alone should motivate more hunters 🤔

    • @yaboi414
      @yaboi414 3 роки тому

      Ive been kicked multiple times by the host for doing kiln during the preparation phase. its very annoying because these types of people want to rush everyone to ready up when there still so much more to set up

    • @-siranzalot-
      @-siranzalot- 3 роки тому

      @@yaboi414 well to be fair, more often than not there is one person in the Party who just won't set ready while doing nothing or aimlessly jumping around. Can't really blame people for not wanting to sit around for 90 out of 120 secs in between each Wave. Kicking for firing up the kilns might be an overcompensation on that Part though

    • @JanusHoW
      @JanusHoW 2 роки тому

      The math for why using Splitting Wyvernshot under Counter Signal is pointless is very simple.
      A decent hit with most weapons under Counter Signal can easily deal 500-800 damage, depending on where you hit. Meanwhile, the Splitting Wyvernshot does 8800 to an Apex or 9240 to Ibushi. Unless you're a Great Sword user with really bad aim, you should have no trouble matching that.

  • @laggalot1012
    @laggalot1012 3 роки тому +2

    Using tools like flash bombs and traps, as well as using the kunai for flying monsters make good tips. I should make more use of that. The rest is quite known to me, though I definitely wish others would take note as well. I've noticed a lot more people just firing off the Splitting Wyvernshot (or Dragonators, in areas that don't have a Splitting Wyvernshot!) immediately and then lo and behold, the Apex gets its big attack off for free. Worse still, however, is people who do *nothing but* try and spam the Splitting Wyvernshot. They'll fire it off immediately, then just sit at the kiln to recharge it, then fire it off again immediately, rinse and repeat and it's just so woefully inefficient, when the Counter Signal enables so much more.
    Thing is, right now, people can afford to do this, because Rampages aren't all that difficult yet, so it's usually not going to result in failure. I've yet to actually see the final gate fall in High Rank (though I have definitely seen some close calls). But just watch, that is going to change sooner or later, Capcom is going to put out Rampages that are a lot harder than what we are dealing with right now. And if people don't wisen up and continue playing as they are now, I suspect many will find that moment quite the rude awakening.

    • @YokaiNox
      @YokaiNox  3 роки тому +1

      "Thing is, right now, people can afford to do this" That's it exactly ^^
      Right now, for those that have had some expirience with Rampages and try to be somewhat efficient, it becomes quite hard to fail a Rampage.
      I've played around with setups were NPCs & installations alone can beat the entire Rampage including the Apex lol
      We've already gotten a slight taste of buffed up Monsters in Rise, and once we get to advanced Rampages (wich, make no mistake, are coming for sure! lol) a rude awakening is about to hit quite a few people 🤣 But we do need that going forward.
      I hope by then we can have "all" caught up on Rampage mechanics & Tips etc, as alot is still completely unkown to a large group of players.

    Something else on rampages is that when you’re in an apex rampage, if you’re in a multiplayer session after the last monster of wave 3 is killed mash - and fast travel back to camp then head to area 2 to start setting up installations before the apex even arrives since the apex is guaranteed to take out the area 1 gate and though it’s a slight cost to damage with your not being there it’s honestly not a lot compared to how valuable having a full or near full area of installations set to meet the Apex. Oh and also don’t be afraid to take down the counter gong to replace it with an offensive instillation. Even if the gong isn’t there you will still get the counter gong tick when the threat appears all it exists for is an emergency 60 seconds of power if you need it but honestly I’ve played 60+ rampages and never once have I needed it. Better to replace it with a wyvernshot or something.
    Last note is just make use of the area specific gimmicks whether it’s the splitting wyvernshot or those piercing things... (idk the name) and if you find yourself in a rampage with no room for installations and don’t think you can do a good enough job weapon in hand solo no harm in just taking the time/initiative to hop around and set up/ replace installations chill at trap points to set them or man the fires to keep cooldown on stuff like the wyvernshot down so you may be able to use it 2-3 times more

    If I’m using the dual blades, which status ailment is the easiest to proc blast, poison, or paralysis?

    • @YokaiNox
      @YokaiNox  3 роки тому

      Blast usually triggers the fastest for DB's, then Poison, then the others

    Pro Tip: Don't play with randoms who use Fugen as soon as some small fry is near the first gate and the Apex hasn't even shown it's face yet.
    ...I don't know how often I had to facepalm because of this by now.

      Someone summoned Fugen on the first wave of the first round. I sent a “wtf” sticker. He then sent a “nice to meet you” sticker. I sent back a prompt “no” sticker. He sent a “wtf” sticker. Made me laugh for the rest of the day thinking about it

      I thought the same when someone used fugen on round 1 first wave. But then I noticed fugen was actually available again on wave 3 during the Apex. More testing needed?

      @@seigiyokota6910 There are 2 different versions of Fugen that you can unlock during Rampage ^^
      The 2nd one is alot stronger than the first one you get.

    I always found it a bit hilarious that you afflict monsters with blights corresponding to their own element, such as getting Thunderblight on Khezu and Zinogre, Waterblight on Almudron and Mizutsune, or Fireblight on the Raths and Rakna-Kadaki. But hey, any excuse to set Rathalos on fire.
    As for inflicting status ailments, there's a MUCH easier method if you don't care too much about crowd control: Blast. Any Teostra weapon, when combined with a set that includes Blast Attack 3, should have no problem causing one explosion per monster.

    • @YokaiNox
      @YokaiNox  2 роки тому

      Yeah iz hallarios seeing some of the monsters inflicted with literally their own element xD
      You're telling me Zinogre, who literally charges up with lightning and eats electricity can be afflicted by thunderblight ?? okay capcom! 😅👍
      Yup, fastest way in general are blast weapons. especially bows. It'll just trigger the blasts back to back in rampage.

      @@YokaiNox As for the Splitting Wyvernshot, there is actually a good moment to use it even during the final Counter Signal - during Ibushi-led Rampages when he's performing his "lift rocks, float around and then throw them at the gate" attack. This not only deals a nice chunk of damage to him, but gets rid of all of the rocks as well.
      It's even more useful during the HR8+ Event quest "Gales of Ibushi Blow Again". Like in the fight before Allmother, Ibushi will levitate numerous cannonballs along with rocks. Normally, the game wants you to run to the ballistas to pick off the rocks one-by-one, but in this version, you don't fight Allmother, so your struggle against Ibushi is to the death, and thus he will open up the Splitting Wyvernshot at a certain point. This means you can not only blast him for a single hit of ~2k damage when he tries that attack, but you also destroy all of the rocks/cannonballs in one go, dealing an additional 300 damage each, which will probably puts the actual damage up to around 3.2k to 3.5k.

      @YokaiNox  2 роки тому

      @@JanusHoW Haha yeah using the splitting wyvernshot during his "super" is hillarious I love doing it in the special rampages at times! xD
      For Gales of Ibushi i rarely use it during that move personally. Most of the time i try to shoot him down with the Balistas by detonating all the cannon balls, and then get a second free down with the splitting wyvernshot right after. To maximize his downtime. Though he wont always go down a second time.
