Here's a tip for you to enjoy Minecraft more: 1. Do not put mending on everything. 2. Don't rush it cuz the world ain't ending today. 3.Do not make too many automated farms. 4. Work on multiple projects. 5. Start collecting your first items. 6. Record the moments because at the end of the day they are your memories. Hope you enjoy Minecraft 😊

You can say that Automatic farms miss the point of the game, but mending definitely doesn't, it is literally in the game, put there intentionally by the developers to be used by the players. If anything, it IS the point of the game. Without mending, the game is annoying as hell and mending makes the world more enjoyable since you don't have to waste time and make new tools and armours every other second.
