Today, we're going to break down the Top 15 Pro Plays of the year. But to spice it up, we're going to play a game I'm calling "Aim or Brains". After watching each play, we have to decide whether that play was made possible due to godlike aim or genius brains. Of course, most top plays are a mix of both. So choosing one or the other is where the challenge comes in. Play along with me and let me know your thoughts in the comments below. nah the full face cutaways was really distracting when I'm trying to focus on the map. It just shifts the focus away from understanding the player positions to watching his face.

I love that you are really pushing this idea of "brain" plays because people tend to neglect everything that isnt just an "aimlabs routine clip".
yep there's generally a lot more to high level play than meets the eye! I'm happy I'm able to share a glimpse of that in this video haha

I love how you seperate which plays required strategy and which plays required great aim. It shows which players are mechanically gifted and which are just smarter.
Keep in mind that we're only looking at these specific plays and challenging ourselves to choose one or the other. Pro players definitely have both aim and brains haha

Airen would you do analyses of prx vs sentinels?
For Com's clutch, I honestly feel it was PRX's fault for not having considered heaven.
Moreover, Com had done many wrap-arounds like this throughout the tournament in a 1vX situation. For instance I remember him showing himself in Hookah and then going around and coming from CT against FUT. And another one on Pearl (don't remember which team though).
Had this play been against teams like FNC, Loud or NRG to name a few, I think this play wouldn't have worked.

while yes, brains were absolutly necessary for that last clip, i feel like he still needed really good aim to make that transfer between shots, so I'd actually give that last clip more to aim than brain

I'll never understand these aim vs brain videos. I love them, they are entertaining, and highlighting the decision making that goes into an awesome play is nice, but let's be real. None of these plays would've worked without aim. None. You can have the best decision making ever, get the timing right and still flunk. It's sad, but to be good you do need aim in every situation to win.
I think the Jett op play on haven could’ve went brain. The presence of mind to know he could catch them with the shorty was pretty big brain
I totally see where you're coming from. It's not easy to recognize that pulling out the shorty there was the play haha
i think plays predicated on multiple instances of “if i hit this shot” are inherently more sim based than brain based
Ngl, i miss all the OG teams like TSM. Broo i miss the og team too, Wardell, Subroza, Hazed, Cutler, Drone.....

That COM clutch is soo good but damn it broke my heart when I root for PRX
I think Paper Rex in the last clip should've positioned differently, and they should've been ready for the potential flank after so much time had passed. Maybe they could have doubled up hell instead? If he peeks through the harbor wall that slows him they would have plenty of time to shoot him even while they are backing up, right?
Shouldn't PRX also know that he didn't actually grab the orb? Whenever someone grabs an orb/plants the spike, don't the enemies who are dead usually hold tab to see who planted/took the orb?
I think it's a bit lucky on c0m's part, but it's still a really good play by him to go for the huge flank.
I think it was nerves and forgetfulness from just being in the moment. You overlook such easy stuff like that most of the time being in a high preassure environment.
