    What I don't understand is that such great professional top notch videos have such a low view count on UA-cam. I get the feeling that the golden days of this platform are over. If you did this ten yeras ago, you would have millions of views.

      Airplanes landing or whatever get 200K views. Anything airplane related. Not sure what that's about.

      I was worried it would take me another week to get this video out. Autumn is a busy time of year! I still need to edit my grizzly bear images from the workshop! Happy to hear you were excited about the video 🎉. Hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it!

    Such beautiful images! I live in northeastern Washington. In my 8 years of rural living here I have yet to see one, we even have an Elk crossing sign just up the road but ... I'm still waiting. 🙂

    What a fantastic adventure. I live on Vancouver Island and I haven't run into any Elk so it's exciting to know that they are here if you look. Thanks for sharing this video and photos! Great job! Wildlife is amazing.

    Another really good video Matt, I'm pretty sure I know where you were. I was there last week, the rut seemed to be over, I didn't find that big bull that you photographed but I did find 3 smaller bulls and there was also lots of cows and calves from last year. The bulls were still with the cows but they didn't seem to be showing much interest in them. Thanks for sharing your adventure and have a great week.

    • @MattShannonPhoto
      @MattShannonPhoto  13 днів тому

      Thanks so much, Keith! Sounds like you had a pretty solid outing, even if the big bull was elusive. I bet the autumn colors were better during your visit. Glad to hear there were plenty of cows and calves, though! Appreciate you watching and sharing your experience-hope you have an awesome week too!

    I recently found your channel. I am super inspired by what you produce. Everything is simple with no fluff. I recently dove into this world and have been focusing on capturing video. Do you shoot most of your video in 8k with the Z9 or is a lot of it 4K? My wife and I would love to do one of your workshops in the next few years. Thanks you!

    Great video. I noticed a few of the elk pictures were at 560mm. Is this a typo or were you using the Nikon 180-600mm S lens?

    • @Anon-zl4ne
      @Anon-zl4ne 14 днів тому +1

      Probably using the 400mm f/4.5 plus 1.4 teleconverter. The teleconverter places one at 560mm. This is the combo I use for wildlife shooting. A little more expensive than the 180-600mm, but the 400mm f/4.5 is a great, fast, lightweight lens.

    • @MattShannonPhoto
      @MattShannonPhoto  14 днів тому +1

      I have a 1.4 Teleconverter on my 400mm lens which gives me a reach of 560mm :)

    • @MattShannonPhoto
      @MattShannonPhoto  14 днів тому +1

      Thanks, you are 100% correct!
      I can't get enough of the 400mm f/4.5. So light!.....but I am missing the 500mm f/4 for it's low light and depth of field when it comes to a busy background.
