The real political divide today is between perfectists and anti-perfectists. The former believe in the possibility of complete liberation of humanity through politics, whereas the latter regard this as a perennial error grounded in a denial of inherent human limitations.

You may find Thomas Sowell's "Visions of the Anointed" a good read.

There is fatigue among Americans toward Middle East foreign policy because of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those wars bankrupted our country which was for Israel’s security.

At the risk of offending... Israel does not have a Constitution. What they do have is probably very appropriate for their survival still at this point in history. One day they will have a Costitution; but that is a problem that must be worked ourt internally, and is reflected in the divide that has been causing turmoil for over a year. It also reflects the settler issue, albeit complicated by the past of the last 76 years. One of the great questions that must be in the back of the mind of most Israelis concerns the wars and offers of a two State solution, which have been won by Israel and turned down by the Palestinian backers respectively. Wars gain territory, more so morally so when the winner is the attacked. Refusals to compromise lead to the feeling of those offering the compromise to take it or leave it and go back historically to the time of the British Mandate and to how it was divided to reward the Hashemites at Israel's expense. It would be remiss of me to gloss over the fact that the British refused the entry of Jews into their Empire before they were hurried off into concentration camps. Cattle, when they are sent to a feed lot, have it better. This residual anti-semitism that was also endemic to much of the rest of the World was very much a part of how the British treated the new Israelis. The World sponsored the return of Jews to their homeland under pressure from the undeniable Holocaust, and holding their noses in the process. It did not help in the West that many of the Jews returning to Israel would be coming from Russia. The fears of Communism were already the subject of great concern. The early Israelis, with the double disaster of anti-semitism and in large part modern Russian roots to deal with, had quite a burden to deal with and a distrust of some of those who helped them. In any case they always knew from 1948 on that they would be on their own to a great extent.

What antisemitism? There's no difference between Hamas and Israel's behavior when it comes to killing unarmed civilians, an Isreali government spokes person was humiliated on Piers Morgan show when ask about how many civilians killed vs how many Hamas terrorists killed and it was disgraceful. There's no truth/objectivity in the world only interests.
