I worked with Mark 20 or so years ago, and he is a lovely man, confident but not arrogant, superb singer, hard working, and professional. Keep it up Mark.

I was 13 back in 1989 when I first listened to Big Area on a local radio station and I thought it was an amazing song with a remarkable melody. I didn't know anything about the English language at that time and... well, time flies! But that melody got stuck in my head along the years. And when the internet gave us the possibility to listen to every possible song in this world again, I didn't know how to find it because of what I said before: I didn't know how to speak English and couldn't even remember the name of the song. So, I started searching all around in 2009 only based on the melody I had in mind and trying to match some possible words hoping they'd lead me to the song. Of course, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I remember saying to myself that I wouldn't die without finding this song again.
I was trying to find a specific drop in the UA-cam ocean. Then it happened in November 2022 when I was listening to one of those random compilations of 80's song and I couldn't believe it! How lucky I felt coming across this amazing song again and finally being able to get to know its name and the name of the band. It was like going back to 1989 again to encounter the teenager I was once. That was priceless and I'd like to thank Then Jerico for such an amazing song.
I know that feeling! In that moment, it's like the world could end that very second and you'd die the happiest human ever! Glad you found it, and good luck to the rest still searching :)
Big área es una de las mejores canciones de Then Jericó,desde que lo descubrí por casualidad hace ya 20 años se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos,para mi muy infravalorado debería estar entre los tops.♥️🍷

I mean he said Big Area thought it was goingto be a massive hit after it got to No13 but it was still a hit nonetheless so it is all good eh Mark!
But the album off same name was a massive hit getting top 5 in UK.

Greetings from New York City ! I so much enjoyed this and the generous length of 44 minutes. What a treat. Then Jerico's "THE MOTIVE" is (still) one of my All Time Top 100 Favorite Songs/Recordings in the world. It made me get into the band, joined their fan club back in the 80's, and been a THEN JERICO fan & collector now (with over 200 Then Jerico items) for 33 years. I still listen to their music as well as Mark Shaw Etc's catalog. Mark Shaw is a great singer who sings everything with passion, and a great showman live on stage. BTW "Step Into The Light" is my second favorite Then Jerico recording. It should have been a B Side or a album bonus track. Is there a unreleased "studio" version of it ? "Step Into The Light" made it and had life as a stable live T.J. song and then released on live T.J. cd's (thank god). Even though we live in different world's on my bucket list is to get a selfie with Mark someday. I enjoyed his most relaxed self in this interview. Mark thanks for your music catalog and Memory Lane 80's for this fab episode. Mark Please keep new music coming. Gratefully, xxx ECHI

I used to chauffeur him around for a while. He was working with Andy Taylor from Duran Duran. The were in the studio for a while working on a Album. They made some good songs but sadly they never released them.He was very chilled out we had a few laughs. His taste in clothing was horrendous though.
