We bought a new home! Our new New York City Apartment.

- So after a year (almost to the date) we got a new apartment in New York City. It was a long year for Hannah Bronfman and I of work, travel, and living out of a suitcase, but we did it and our patience paid off. We found the home of our dreams in NYC. It's an old place with soul which we love, and there's lots of work to do, but we're beyond excited about it.
Stay tuned for the updates as we go, renovations will start in not too long, but planning right away!
But for now, welcome to our home!

Penthouse means top floor. That's it. It's still an apartment. This one is not a penthouse apartment.
The are living in a home that sits on top of an apartment building.
Brendan does well for himself and his wonderful wife’s father is a billionaire. Her mother was a famous actress from the ‘60-70s.

Coming back to this video and comparing it to the video of it ”remodeled” … They took all the soul and character out of it! So sad, this place was such a stunner, makes me think of the place from the movie “ghost”
The bookcases had me in tears!!! I could easily fill those bookcases (5,000+ personal library). Absolutely amazing!!!
Lynnie White said the same thing. I love books!!! I have so many books and had to give them away when I moved to Florida. I would love this apartment
I dream of bookshelves like that! I have many wonderful books... rare and otherwise. I can’t have them with me so I miss them. Still trying to figure out a solution. Just wow!

Nobody NEEDS 5,000 books unless you allow people to check them out.
@@mircat28 I put most of my money into books since I got some pocket money around age 6 and I am still expanding my collection of ~1500. There are a lot of memories in between the pages which is why I don't get rid of a lot of books (the exception being non fiction). I can remember around what time I read it, what was happening then, how I felt, what my state of mind was. I regularly reread and it is interesting to explore the same book a few years later, as there are always things you missed or forgot. I only put fiction books in book swaps if I really didn't like them or couldn't bring myself to finish a book. My upstairs neighbours have two daughters that regularly visit and check out books from me too since I love childrens books. Friends borrow a lot too. My oldest childhood friend and I mostly just sit in the library reading, when she visits me. Do I need them? No, but I am attached to them and I enjoy sitting in my library (re)reading. They make me happy.

Very cool space- but the lack of windows would make me anxious.
Im not going crazy right, i was wondering where are the windows? here in the UK the only spaces to not have windows are the closet and small bathrooms
Kemis Nomo yep. I could only see atrium style windows at the very front of the apartment. Everything else had no natural light or ventilation 😑

G94 lol I’ve seen them too, normally the box room however I’d call it a closet not a bedroom, just cuz a bed can fit in it doesn’t make it a bedroom

The glassed roofed room in the basement could be turned into a little greenhouse. It looks so lovely! I love the exposed brickwork and the fireplace!
...I thought the same thing! Including, IF it has a separate entrance, you're looking at extra income if they needed it! They could make a studio apartment downstairs...or, run a school. It's big enough to have a Yoga class, maybe, ballet? Even pottery class w/a kiln?!? Art studio - with that window - for sure! Possibly, poetry readings...acting classes?!? Ya never know! That's a lot of space begging to be used! If thought out carefully, it could make them mega bucks and opportunities for others.
@Jeff In Chicago Depends on the plants. A great many prefer indirect light, which there is plenty. Other's only thrive in direct sunlight, yes, but lots of houseplants usually don't. :)

Gosh. That's a very magnificent place to live in. Lots of potential. That bookshelves, exposed brick, height of the ceiling and mirrors at the end of the room in just one place makes it truly a gem.

I agree... just getting sun from above isn't enough for me. I need to see the city from my windows... people, cars, dogs, the angry mailman, etc. This is too "hermit" for me but I LOVE the space.

The downstairs should be your bedroom and the bedrooms down there should be your closets and the upstairs bedroom should be your all’s office !

Legally, a room without a window doesn’t constitute a “bedroom.” That being said, that’s a really unique space, and I hope you enjoy it.

jessica zamora It’s a law everywhere in the US, cause every room needs two routes of egress in case of an emergency. Most rooms have a door and a window.
In TX, the rule is that a room has to have a closet, not a window

Wow, this is my dream - Victorian, high ceilings, wood fireplace, natural light, curving staircase, 3 levels, brick walls, and overall CHARACTER. Please try to keep as many of the original features as possible as older places are such a rarity now!

I’m so happy I’m not the only one that does NOT like glass building popping up everywhere in NY. One of the reasons we moved out of the city to Harlem. Absolutely love character and give me these atriums any day over windows and street noise. They’re screaming plants and herbs maybe zen like areas.

This is the most amazing apartment I’ve seen- as a former New Yorker this is an exceptional space
I see a lot of people commenting about the lack of windows until I realized that my house actually doesn’t have many windows even though it’s an open floor plan (bedrooms, bathrooms, have huge windows). We have huge French doors that allow plenty of sunlight in and the lack of windows actually make the house feel a million times more cozy!

*In my opinion* the first apartment that was showed (the one ya broke the lease for) was actually very nice. It had lots of natural light which opened up the space a bit and had pretty decent views. If I’m being completely honest it had more space than the average apartment in Manhattan, so it was also a good find. But the apartment ya chose is still pretty dope ig 👍🏼

Kindles are sad but you have to be a tactile book junkie to appreciate all that shelf space. I know me and my late husband would have loved that space and just put a huge plant under that leak, lol.
