- Heres an easy and affordable way to replace the vent cap on your trailer. This will work for nearly any trailer that has a 14 inch x 14 inch vent cap. They are rather generic and can be found on RV's as well as a multitude of trailers. Mine has broken many times, often because of the weight of snow on it. In this video I'll show you how to quickly replace the cap.
Here is the link to the cap I got from Amazon.

Note that there is a tab at each end of the channel on the vent cover. You can see one of them at the 0:53 second mark. When bent down, these prevent the cover from sliding out of position. For removal, at least one need to be pried back out.
When installing, I’d suggest bending one tab down before sliding on the cover. Once in place, bend the other one down.
Thanks for the tip!
I’d also suggest attaching the hardware for the new vent cap while you’re still on the ground. The kit I bought off Amazon had a bunch of tiny nuts and bolts. It was easy to assemble following the included diagram, but if one of those nuts rolled off the roof, you’d be very lucky to find it.
Thank you for a quick and direct video. Very helpful.
Thanks Bro I'm touring production company I have one day before I'm out and needed to know how to do this to keep my gear dry haaaaa
The circle = the slide arm wheel... good job 👍

Great video. Thanks for sharing!
didn't see neither how to take it off or how to put it back on :(
Thank you. It helped me.
Almost got it. Except you left out the important part, removal and install.....
Too bad you didn't film the most difficult part. Kinda a waste of time.
Worst video ever
