I know I’m all stressed out in another comment thread, but I wanted to say THANK YOU for your videos! They have really been helpful to me as I begin our homeschooling journey! I was glad to hear you talk about math-u-see. That’s what I have for both kids. My 5 year old is more than 3/4 through Alpha and I’ve been unsure about what to do with him. I have added Life of Fred to give a different angle at math. It sounds like IXL might be just what I’m looking for as an assessment tool for both kids! Again - thank you for making these videos!
I love seeing that you incorporate other resources that may not be strictly Charlotte Mason even though you are very much a Charlotte Mason homeschool. I feel like it gives me some permission to do the same as I am planning to use AO and Under the Home next year.
I’m finding it easier and easier to apply CM’s methods to almost any curriculum and I’ve loved piecing together different resources, as some curriculum writers have strengths in some areas more than others! Under the home and AO are both excellent resources!
Ontario, Canada. No restrictions or requirements here! Not all university programs accept homeschoolers though… so you have to know what program your students might want to apply for and be prepared for the requirements!
We are brand new to homeschooling. My daughter is 11 and I want to do a more CM inspired approach next school year. I do work for 1030 to 5 4 days a week. What CM curriculum do you think I should research? I would love something very beginner friendly!
I really love the Alveary as a open and go curriculum… and a lot of the work could be done independently if your daughter is ready for that. It’s so user friendly and doesn’t really require you to understand CM method. Ambleside Online (also free) is an amazing resource, but requires a little CM backgrounds knowledge. But we love adding in their book selections and Artist & Composer studies!
@ I think it looks amazing! I haven’t used it yet, so can’t give my input aside from what I researched on it, but I plan to pick up one of their units next year!

Where in Canada are you homeschooling from? Are there any homeschool govt restrictions there?

@ thank you!
@ I have watched your Without Doors review. Do you think it might be a good fit and one I should look into?

A Gentle Feast is another option.
