@@ninamiller2225 I bought them a few years back. I liked them a lot! They take about an extra month to start laying but they are nice birds and lay a bit bigger eggs.
Hey! Thank you for the video! I am having a very calm Jersey Giant rooster (he’s around 6 months old) but I find him quite light to be honest. Do you/someone else know what is the supposed weight at this age ? Also; I know that average and small size roosters are able to reproduce at already 6/7 months; but I doubt it in the case of Jersey Giant. Any ideas on that ? (Ps. I’d like to breed my JG rooster with my Australoorp, Faverolle and Orpington hens… hopefully that will give some heavy birds)
The Giants tend to be a bit slower to develop than some other breeds. They'll get pretty big if you've got quality birds. By 6-7 months they'll certainly be able to reproduce.
I have two and they grew way slower than the rest of them. Now they dwarf the others at 7 months old and their eggs barely fit in the carton. Also they dont stop maturing till ten months so I expect by then they will be huge! 😁
Beautiful chicken. I adopted 5 chickens that were dumped as young pullets in my yard (yes, seriously), & I think one might be a Jersey Giant!
There the best loving ones you can have. Mine jumps in my arms. She will lay her head on my neck
Thanks for sharing this video with us.
Just bought half dozen of these from tractor supply. Very excited!
Do u still have them if so how big are they now

Loved you're video you got to the point and didn't just keep going..
So how big is Serena now would love to know
Poor girl.
Spend time holding her and she will become affectionate.
Some of my friendliest birds are the ones at the bottom that were bullied
Oh such a sweetheart
Do you have a video on everything a beginner needs to start raising chickens as a hobby?
Love the video, but as someone from New Jersey, I feel I must inform you that New Jersey is not a part of New England.
Is feed consumption proportionate to size??? Leghorns eat very little, growing rather fond of my Australorps.
How to buy Jersey giant?
If I could give her two thumbs up i would so here are two comments lol 😆
That's my name!
I swear those are the breed I have!! My friend said that they were black goliaths
Do they go Broody?
Idk how chickens as big as that can be near the bottom of the pecking order. I would think it would be at the top.
How much does an "average" Jersey Giant weigh at 6 months? Pullets and Cockerels?
What do these chickens taste like?
Is that shirt from Pittsburg Kansas?
Hey!
Thank you for the video!

They take 9 months till fully matured
I love her. ❤
LOL SERENA
Give the oatmeal and they will stop picking each other
Looks like a regular sized chicken. 5/6 pounds.
Do they get any bigger?
yes, she is quite small for her breed
@@komaedanagito4real yea that's what I was thinkin
Yes. She was definitely small.
Awww poor thing she looks a little ugly :/( only because of her tail feathers )
Sad, but true...
🙄
Do you have facebook?
I have a jersey giant that is 5 weeks old. Little girl is smaller than the others in the flock😅
Crazy! The "little giant"! I love it. They're a bit slower to mature. I'm sure she'll dwarf the others with time.

They take 9 months. There gentle Giants. Quit and loving birds.
