    Beautiful chicken. I adopted 5 chickens that were dumped as young pullets in my yard (yes, seriously), & I think one might be a Jersey Giant!

      @@ninamiller2225 I bought them a few years back. I liked them a lot! They take about an extra month to start laying but they are nice birds and lay a bit bigger eggs.

    Poor girl.
    Spend time holding her and she will become affectionate.
    Some of my friendliest birds are the ones at the bottom that were bullied

    Love the video, but as someone from New Jersey, I feel I must inform you that New Jersey is not a part of New England.

    Is feed consumption proportionate to size??? Leghorns eat very little, growing rather fond of my Australorps.

    Idk how chickens as big as that can be near the bottom of the pecking order. I would think it would be at the top.

    How much does an "average" Jersey Giant weigh at 6 months? Pullets and Cockerels?

    Hey!
    Thank you for the video!
    I am having a very calm Jersey Giant rooster (he’s around 6 months old) but I find him quite light to be honest. Do you/someone else know what is the supposed weight at this age ?
    Also; I know that average and small size roosters are able to reproduce at already 6/7 months; but I doubt it in the case of Jersey Giant. Any ideas on that ?
    (Ps. I’d like to breed my JG rooster with my Australoorp, Faverolle and Orpington hens… hopefully that will give some heavy birds)

      The Giants tend to be a bit slower to develop than some other breeds. They'll get pretty big if you've got quality birds. By 6-7 months they'll certainly be able to reproduce.

      Crazy! The "little giant"! I love it. They're a bit slower to mature. I'm sure she'll dwarf the others with time.

    • @sassysarina9718
      @sassysarina9718 3 роки тому

      I have two and they grew way slower than the rest of them. Now they dwarf the others at 7 months old and their eggs barely fit in the carton. Also they dont stop maturing till ten months so I expect by then they will be huge! 😁

    • @tonylama2012
