  • Torvak The Warrior is one of my fave hack & slashers for the Atari ST. Okay, it's heavily flawed thanks to the control mechanics and suspect hit detection but, I still love it. This is one of those games I keep returning to over and over - even though I'm terrible at it lol... This video record features snippets from each level and you can read more about it here: ataricrypt.blo...

Oh yeah, one of my favourite games for ST. This was our Rastan 😉. Great graphics and music, scrolling, movements… and a changelling gameplay. As most of Core games for ST, it’s a masterpiece. Hours and hours of fun in my childhood with it! Thanks for this video man.

torvak the warrior was one of my favorite games on Atari st, I still have the floppy disks but my mother threw the box away, which was precious.

@@AtariCrypt I'll maybe get back to the Atari videos eventually. Covid happened and I short of stopped due to work commitments. I have yet to pick it back up again.

Nice! This is a cool game. The sounds are a little weak, but the gameplay and graphics are really well done.

Yet we couldn't have Rastan on the Atari ST, but we could have Thundercats...Fraking BS!
    Anyway, beautiful game.
    Thank you for sharing.

Never played this one. Looks kind of cool as I like Rastan type games.

yeah it's pretty close to that in many respects. I think with a tinker to the controls, this would have been a classic.

Nice looking game! Never heard of it before. Movement and weapon handling seems to be a little jerky and slow though.

Probably my recording, it moves fine but better when not walking. Speed powerup makes the weapons much better

Scrolling is faster abs another when jumping instead of walking. Would've been better for gameplay to have him walk at that date pace or have a run option but otherwise a cool game.

Great looking game this but shame the music is a bit too jaunty 😂

ST Torvak runs a lot slower than the Amiga version, because it was developed alongside the Amiga version and Core didn't have time to improve it.
They wanted to maintain the same screen size on both versions, so felt it was better to sacrifice speed, rather than play area, on the ST version.
They felt, given the time scale, they pushed the ST quite a way.
