    Top priority...Solo Motorsports for the weld it yourself cage and body puck kit. If you don't cage it, the body will crumble. Desolate Motorsports for beams, radius arms, rear shock mount, anti-sway kit, 8.8 truss. Simple Detroit or tru-trac out back, tru-trac or open front. Stick to 35" tires...the new BFG KM3's would be a good choice. Maybe Raptor take-off shocks on the rear to save $$$$. Stick to 8" wide wheels to reduce stress on the rear axle flanges. Bumps on the rear to save axle. 8.8's will fold the tubes at the spring perch if you run too hard. You can re-tube the 8 or go to a 9". If 9, Solo and Desolate have the speed sensor relocating kits. Relocate battery to save the core support. Battery mount cracks. Mount spare inside and eliminate the swinger to save the rear quarter. No fiberglass! Not required unless you plan to go wider, in which case, it's no longer a budget build. Hahaha! My vote...don't touch the engine until you see what it can do. You might rethink after.
    Check out my site for lot's of good info...gofastbroncos.com

      I'm looking at one from mcneil racing for my bronco build. And you may want to consider a cut and turn mod on the TTB to help compensate for the positive camber when you add longer travel springs up front

    Nice choice. Have a blue prerunner bronco myself. Was in dirtsports. Box the beams,longer radius arms,4" drop brackets or cut and turn, 14"x 2.5" Kings with 500/550 springs front with some tube shock towers and a bar across motor to tie them together,deavers out back, a traction bar of some sort, roll cage when you can. Motor. Look at headers,and a torqstorm supercharger and maybe bigger injectors if needed. Threat Motorsports has a cantilever rear shock setup you might look at.Or just do like me and do 2.5"x16" Kings tied to cage inside with semi shifter boots around them to keep dust etc. Out.

      BustedKnuckleVideo you can clear 37s with no hacking up front end (besides wheel wells but if you’re doing a prerunner you’re going glass front end anyways) and in the back too but that requires a little more hacking. Only speaking from experience.

    Awesome! Looking forward to this rebuild. Most recommendations I would consider have already been mentioned. However, I've owned 3 Bronco's in my life, two '95 models, and one of which was 5.8L and roller cam ready. Bored the block .030 over, added flat head pistons and a custom roller cam plus an MSD ignition, and custom Superchips at the time. Very important to install a BRASS distributor gear after the roller cam upgrade, otherwise the engine will fail quickly. Oh, and change the fuel filter after any extended line drops due to engine swaps/rebuilds. Have fun! And, subscribed!

    Nice! Finally someone who recognizes how good a bronco is at jumping, I have a black 1995 bronco 351 5.8 Eddie Bauer edition, my motor is also the roller rocker, but mine is a little more special then the usual broncos in 1995, this because all broncos had a maf sensor, what's weird is mine never came with one, is was bought on January 1st 1995, and I believe it was custom ordered and this is how it was optioned... this bronco is a keeper for life... by the way it has 226k miles, still runs perfect, even was doing long haul car hauling for about 20k miles, and it never skipped a beat, not to mention the towing experience was great, must be because of such a short frame whichever makes it alot stiffer towing heavy loads compared to regular half ton trucks, broncos are amazing

    If you are retaining ttb, I'd highly recommend the SuperLift SuperRunner steering system which utilizes an idler arm. I'm running the full system on my 95 4 door Centurion Bronco if you need pics. Deaver variable rate 5.5" coils, Deaver 10leaf pack in the rear, SuperLift longarms for a more vertical suspension oscillation, Doetsch Tech prerunner shocks ($45ea), limiting straps all around.

    You should make tube front and rear bumpers with the front kc headlights. Lift it, keep the ttb, get some wheels and tires, and get a fitech efi to put on a carberator manifold. Put some shorty headers on and get some more kcs for the roof. And build a roll cage. Good video!

    Just finished the first stage of my wife's Bronco build. We are running 4" lift coils from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, with a set of cut and turned beams from Richer Racing to compensate for the positive camber from the lift. We are running Fox 2.0 shocks that bolt in to the rear mount of our dual shock tower. I built custom radius arms using brackets from TT-Motorsports.com (not listed on his site). For the rear we are running Deaver Q80 leaf springs we ordered through Desolate Motorsports and using TT-Motorsports weld it yourself (W-I-Y) shackles and hangers, TT-Motorsports W-I-Y shock mounts and King 2.5" x 12" stroke shocks. Extended brake lines front and rear from Desolate Motorsports as well. We are seeing about 14" of front wheel travel before the axles start to bind and I strapped the rear to 16" of travel. In my opinion the only addition to the suspension I would add would be hydraulic bump stops in the front, we are running the big trapezoidal bumps in the rear and they perform fine. The front feels a little soft in the big whoops though so that's why we want to add air bumps, but it rides great on the road. If you guys would like any help, I'm on instagram @the_radman and would be more than happy to provide some help if you guys need it. Also check out "They Call Me Wally" on youtube, he has a few helpful videos on converting the TTB pivots to uniballs, how to weld the TT Motorsports shackles and hangers along with some other helpful videos. Good luck with the build!

    Build it in stages. See how far you can build it under $7500 or so, focusing on suspension and easy ways to add power. Basically stuff people can do in their driveway at home. Then go for big power adders, expensive shocks, and make it a full build. A lot of people don't have $15,000 to throw at a prerunner build. $7500-$3000 for the buying price. That leaves $4500 to build it with.

      I've seen a serious V6 Prerunner Ranger. Geared very high. But plenty of power for it. Gearing should help plenty before you really need to do any serious engine work for power.

    • @zososldier
      @zososldier 5 років тому +2

      Just pre-runner front arms are $4500+. You would have no money left for shocks, the rear, the cage or any other parts. $15k is pretty much the bare minimum you should be looking at spending for any car build that you could possibly die in.

  • @brianbirc

    I built a 87 Bronco myself. A prerunner Bronco! The TTB needs to be cut and turn lifted retaining the original inside mount up high and stronger. Long chromoly radius arms heim joint mounted. I gusseted, plated, added a vertical mount to the beams making it far strong. I changed the spindles to a 96 for the brake calipers with bolt on mounting and to loose the 87 model hubs for Warn hubs. Added a F 250 pass side slip shaft with f 250 u joint, Chromoly axles, u joints, bearings and seals. Then cycle it and grind for clearance and limit strap it. Install tall shock mounts or engine cage up front and frame to frame mount and Deaver springs rear. I rand King Shocks in all four. I did 4.56 gears with lockers, rebuilt improved transfer case and Monster trans. Hi amp alt, driveshafts, 35" tires on 4" lift. Glass fenders and hood with others to convert it to 96 body and tire clearing. Had a 95 351w built to a 408 with AFR heads etc. ready to install now. The 95 is the full roler with MAF. Still planning on full cage and hydro bump stops and? Got a great sound system too. I also upgraded headlights to HIV its easy cheap and WAY better. Changed some Hella 700's to HIV too. It amazes me over rough with 18"front and 20"rear travel on Kings and able to go in 2wd (4x4 on hand) where I would always need four wheel drive before and some. It is by far better than previous 4x4's I have owned upgraded with chain off road shops. Hardcore amazing taking 3' whoops passing jeeple spotting each other over 2' ones. Toasting hello out the window at 70mph not spilling my drink smooth and in control with an ear to ear grin. The BRONCO KICKS ASS

    that is a nice clean bronco! I have a 96 with the roller cam 351. I know everyone likes to knock the ttb but I have yet to see ford make a more durable independent front 4x4 suspension. I'm sure you've looked at gofastbroncos for inspiration already but since you're taking suggestions:
    I personally think it's nice to see a "sleeper" pre runner, the body on that bronco looks nice enough you could do a wrap or some raptor liner and give it a new color while protecting the body from stone chips and bushes.
    do cut and turned ttb beams with coilovers (and a shock hoop/engine cage), rcv axles (or at least do a d50 stubshaft) manual hubs, big brakes, long radius arms with heims. and get some deaver springs on the rear with a under bed shock hoop and maybe upgrade to a 9 inch? (you'll have to get or make something to re locate the tone ring and sensor from the 8.8 diff) and possibly do a 3 link or maybe just some traction bars?
    also consider converting the electronic 4x4 to a manual tcase, trashing that catback for a dump right behind the passenger door like a racecar!, converting to MAF, mounting a cage and getting new seats lol. oh and a softtopper would go good with it!
    All of this probably can't be done for less than 15 grand so probably stuff like the rcv axles and the 9 inch rear would be money better spent on better shocks but I guess it all depends on what you guys plan on doing with it. Either way I'm excited to see a prerunner bronco build on you tube

      It's a different sport. Pre-runners are for desert racing. You also don't want to just put better shocks on it. Pre-runners need articulation to absorb impacts. That's why they usually widen the suspension by 4-10 inches with 14+ inches of travel.

    • @16driver16
      @16driver16 5 років тому +2

      a c pre-runners aren't really for racing themselves. they are for pre-running the race course before a big race hence the name pre-runner but I get ya, it would be better with more up travel. but what I was saying was, compared to my truck, you could just throw shocks on it and beat me by a mile

    • @zososldier
      @zososldier 5 років тому

      For their $15k price, a set of long travel ttbs and some mid level coils would do wonders. The rear would probably just need drop hangers and some good shocks. That would leave enough for some 35-40s. Possibly gearing.
      Something like:
      Front > www.solomotorsports.com/shop/suspension-kits/ford/bronco-f150/stage-3-long-travel-front-suspension-kit-bronco-f150/
      Rear > www.solomotorsports.com/shop/suspension-kits/ford/deaver-q80-rear-suspension-kit-bronco/
      Tire > Probably some 35 trepadors
      Then you have around $6k to spend on gears and cage.

    I roll a C350 Centurion so some carries over. So things I would like to see....
    - Duel 37"+ spares without harming other functions like cargo space or towing.
    - Raising the fender openings and inner fender for up travel.
    - Widening the fenders front and back.
    - A lighter more useful top, but keeping a solid top and rear window.
    - Doubt you would but a D60 based TTB.
    - A cage that protects the windshield and strengthens the A pillars without a lot of exo-cage elements.
    - A midgate with window.
    - One piece front clip.
    - A Baumann controller for the E4OD. I have that, curious to see what you do, it could also help solve the 8.8 speed sensor issue for you.

    • @codybrady6637
      @codybrady6637 5 років тому

      the d 50 ttb was used on f250s and it had d60 hubs but from what I hear it isn't really stronger than the d44 ttb. the d50 stubshaft is stronger though so most people do that swap, it's just best to do the cut n turn ttb and plate and truss the hell out of it lol!

      looking at 9" for the rear, don't want to spend money on the 8.8

    • @snek9353
      @snek9353 5 років тому

      Cody, IIRC D50 was Supercab F250s, regular cab F250s got a D44HD. The D50 was larger all around with basically D60 parts from the knuckle out. But it also had shorter arms and leaf springs. D44HD was just a 8 lug D44 but also leaf.
      I understand some parts can be used in Broncos to make a D44HD/D50 hybrid, IDK the details. However for BustedKnuckle an outfit called Jantz engineering does what they call a JANA 54 kit. They adapt D50 gears to a D44 to make it much stronger www.jantz4x4.com//jantz.php?p=detail&pro=jana_54
      None of this does any good on my Centurion. Got a D60 now, the D50 is just too small all around for a 10K pound rig with a 7.3 and 37s.

      @snek9353 5 років тому

      BustedKnuckleVideo,
      "looking at 9" for the rear, don't want to spend money on the 8.8"
      Yeah I assumed so that's why I mentioned it. IIRC in a 95 there's only one speed sensor, the one in the 8.8. Nor does the factory transfer case even have a provision to mount a speed sensor. When you replace it with a 9" something will have to be done to replace it. Both the factory speedometer and the transmission computer need the speed sensor.
      I'd think for you the most practical solution is to simply swap transfer cases. Swap for example to an older manual shift BW 13-56 from a 91 or older F250/350. Direct bolt in, cheap, stronger, manual shift, and a provision for a speed sensor in the tail housing.
      The Baumann/ US Shift Quick 4 controller, IDK how far you intend to go. I'm not sure about adapting the speed pulses from a transfer case to replace those from the rear end with the stock system but I suspect there's an answer. However the Quick 4 has provisions for that as well as of course is fantastic at controlling the E4OD, with options up the wazzo to get it to do exactly what you want.

    e4od trans is your weak link along with the 8.8 c-clip axle. Swap those out for a c6 and nine inch, put in some E-fans, strip as much weight off of it as possible and let it rip. The engine really wakes up with some heads if you can get some victor jr's or something similar. Ive built my share of somewhat disposable broncos and it's hard to work with a frame and body that is that heavy and still somehow flimsy. The more weight you strip, the better it sails.

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo 5 років тому

      good points, we want to go 9" in the rear but havent really though about swapping the trans

    • @richardniblack6408
      @richardniblack6408 5 років тому

      late 80's C6 are the best/cheapest options as they are already reverse manual valve body so it lends itself to aftermarket shifters really easily. You can run the e4od trans but it's heavy and doesn't like heat which is all you will build playing in the sand or loose dirt. The 8.8 isn't terrible and ive seen them beaten to death and keep running but if you plan to put any money into it you would be wasting your money. I usually just weld up the rear if it's not a limited slip, do an old school turnbuckle truss along the bottom and call it good. I would swap the trans before I swap the rear axle as far as reliability and dollars spent.
      You can also gain a lot of low end torque with a six litre tune up www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/23-technical-write-ups/63592-ignition-upgrade-timing-bump-no-56k.html and a free flowing exhaust. Saginaw power steering swaps out of similar year econolines are great upgrades for steering as it will help get rid of the lovely power steering whine that broncos normally have. Hope this helps.

    • @snek9353
      @snek9353 5 років тому

      There's no reason to swap out the E4OD for the C6. The C6 is tough sure but that's it, otherwise it blows. The E4OD runs cooler, thanks to the lockup converter, has an OD, is plenty strong, and being electric is much easier to to tune. The E4OD does just fine in diesel F350s a 5.8 Bronco is no problem.
      There's no factory reverse manual valve body C6.
      Bringing up the "six litre tune up" says you spend too much time in the forums.
      I agree the 8.8 has to go, not worth the bother, the C-clips and bearings are too big of an issue.
      Saginaw pump setup from a van is a good one, hadn't thought of that for them. Reminds me a hydro-boost swap is worthwhile as well.

    You could run or build some James Duff style long arms in the front and run a deaver pack in the rear. Get an aftermarket intake setup and 15/8 primary headers on that engine and it will really pick up the power - some GT40 heads off an Explorer will really give it some cheap power too. Speaking of King of the hammers, there was a BII with full size TTB transplant that ran the course with the V6. It is a shame the BII is treated like the Ford Bronco Bastard child. No one likes to admit if they like them. Compared to a Jeep of their time, they had way more storage, FI V6 was a decent engine(if coolant levels were kept up), quiet on the road, and good 4x4 characteristics. I have now had 4 of them in my lifetime. I did have a bone stock clean 86’ a few years ago and the braking was the most frightening thing when trying to drive at modern highway speeds. Yikes! Good luck with your new bronco project. I will sub and keep up with it. Lol. Also the top wasn't removable and they didn't have a tailgate so there wasn't a whole lot of sport or utility to them. If ford would have tweaked the design a little and sorted out the issues it had it could have been a great little suv/jeep fighter. It could have been great if it had a removable top, torquey 4 or 6 cylinder (possibly inline engine) and colors that weren't muted shades of shit brown or vomit tan (I've seen a few b2s in nice reds and blues but most of the ones I've seen irl have been white, brown or tan and they look soo boring )

      But those rear side windows..... they're just a deal breaker for me. I know it's vain but it is what it is.

      I think for like 1 year you could get optional removable side windows which would have made it cooler in my opinion but they're really rare
