Your video helped me find the fuse, my tiger rice cooker is the antique version but same design inside and out. I almost give up because after watching related videos, I still can't find the fuse, so I typed the brand name and saw ur video wtf, the fuse is hidden. Currently waiting for fuse ordered online. Thank you for making this video.
Thank you thecollegepicker. It's a very informative VDO, easy to understand and follow. I should've watched your VDO before rushing to buy a new one. Now I have 2.
Good DIY video except thermal fuse connections must always be crimped. Solder joints will get weak or melt from high temperatures. Also, the high soldering iron temperature (315°C) could melt the thermal fuse internal wire (157°C).
Hello, can you help me? My rice cooker, when I press the button, the red light comes on, but it doesn't stay red, it switches to green! If I forcefully hold it gets hot at the connector
What if my tiger rice cooker warm switch is no working and i don't have the manual too. Don't know where is the warm wire or indicator located. If there anything you can help me out?
come across your video today, thanks for the tip, can u send me a link of solder pen that u got? i try to repair my 10 cup tiger rice cooker. new 1 cost 185 at the grocery store
@@thecollegepicker thanks i bought the 14$ one on amazon and the pack of fuse for 8$ and fixed my rice cooker save 190$ for the new 10 cup rice cooker. Thanks alot
Hey, so, I have another model of this rice cooker like the 5.5 I think. I was half asleep and pourred a full cup of rice in without the bowl. Ive tried everything, removing the screws under doesnt give me access to anything and wont remove the bottom, if i shake it upside down there's 1 grain every 3 mins that falls out. I dont wanna buy a new rice cooker and cant find anything anywhere online...
Hi! I remove the fuse of my rice cooker Ang connect the wire back with replacing the fuse between it, my rice cooker works but temperature is making so hot. I'm afraid it maybe it would burn and make fire.
Is it bad if i hold the ''cook'' button so it won't go into warm? sometimes the rice is not cooked, and the rice cooker still go into ''warm''. Can holding the cook button cause any damage?
I just finished bypassing this fuse. Wish i found this video first, but it wasnt complicated. Waiting for fuses, mine takes the F139E 142°. Unfortunately, the cost is $12 for 5 on amazon canada
problem with my cooker is fuse its simple to test fuse with meeter or you can t=remove fuse connect wires and see if cooker turns on if it does its fuse but don't cook until you replace fuse I am not liable fuse is there for reason so you don't burn down your house

I cant remember the name of soldering iron but it wasnt cheap, it was around $200 I think. Uneeded for this repair, you can use a cheap china one.

You are welcome
Nice and direct
Can you explain how to test the thermal fuse for confirmation ? I have a fluke and just need the spec what the read should be around. Thanks
You would check for break in continuity.

What is the black part name next to the fuse. Thanks
Mine takes the 157 degree 15 amp fuse, I can only find 10 amp fuses on the internet. Would the 10 amp be ok?
How do you fix a rice cooker that turns on to warm but not to cook
My new one is doing the very same .
Sounds like a short. What brand and model?
I have Rival 4310 rice cooker/steamer. Where is the fuse located?
You don’t solder thermal fuses because the solder will cause a hot spot which will pop fuse agin. Has to be crimped.
That makes sense 🤯

Did it make the rice like it should have?

just leave it to warm for 15 minutes, then fluff with a rice scoop and leave it for another 15 to 30 minutes.
thats what blew my rice cooker's fuse :(

That's a good temp fix. Comments like this make me happy I made this video 👍🙏
So yours has no fuse? is it safe to use it like that?
@@hedgehogthesonic3181 I've used it every day since I posted that. Sometimes its on 24/7. no issues
Also, I keep it extremely clean. Buildup is what causes overheating and fires
