  • From Columbia University all the way to the University of Georgia, protests against the war between Israel and Hamas are erupting all over the nation. As Nathan observes on the podcast, these kinds of protests are a relatively recent phenomenon and depend upon a political framework that values the dignity and worth of the individual-something firmly rooted in Christianity.

    I heard an interesting discussion on a radio program in a country other than the United States covering protests going on in the US. They pointed out that protesters were claiming the state was a fascist, police state, but remarked, "We are currently in a republic that is nowhere near fascist, but if you made those claims publicly in *this* country, you'd go to jail. The fact these protesters can march around with almost no fear of serious repercussion disproves their claims."
