Been saying it for years now the match maker is rigged it forces 50/50 i always win 1 game lose 1 game win 2 games lose 2 games it really is just a crap match maker probably the worst i have ever seen.

Cuz it's the rank reset season. Me and 90% of my M1 - Gm5 friends were dropped to gold-plat for placement where we just destroyed lobbies. Same happened when I was looking at my gf's gameplay. There is usually that 1 guy who didn't do the placements/got unlucky with it that has to climb back to higher ranks. I'd say it is a caviat of rank reset and prolly will fix itself in a couple of seasons
I know we all suffer from bad teammates and we are not all good enough to carry every game. It is so hard to climb this season in my opinion. Especially when tanks get melted by some good dps
@@beartrap9367 I think support and tank are more important roles, and you can have a bigger impact if you’re good at the role. With how comp is, its frustrating to play with really bad players in gold, getting a 60%+ win rate to rank up is not possible most of the time.
The ultimate tip is never solo queue. Solo queue means you are rolling a dice no matter how good you are. Never have I ever duo'd where I didn't win 8/10 games even when my partner was way ahead of me in rank (rank breakdown explained below). Edit: since everyone is a little negative Nancy and likes to talk shit here’s some more context for those that actually want the tip. You play a game where you win? Add someone on your team who did well and tell them you’re down to duo and to shoot you an invite when they see you on. Do this several times and it becomes a lot easier to have someone on you can play with as a team. Additionally all these people saying you’re getting boosted. Give me a break. If you stack in any form you’re more likely to play against other stacks, and I hate to break it to you but the matchmaking right now will put you in a bronze lobby even if you’re silver, it will put you in a gold lobby even if you’re bronze. Your games will be unfair whether that’s in your favor or to your detriment more often than it will be an even match and that gets even worse the higher rank you go. Furthermore my direct story is my recent duo with a friend who hasn’t played a game since well before kiriko was released and we just did his placements. He’s mid plat and high gold for some roles, I’m mid plat and high gold for some roles. Guess what our opponents are lol? Same thing. In regards to “boosting” You know you can only play with someone a division above you right? If this is considered boosting, you better start reporting everyone every time you get in a lobby where your opponents rank is higher than yours (this will happen every game btw). Additionally if they’re plat and you’re gold, you’re going to end up in diamond lobbies especially if you’re in a group of any size and so I’d ask you if you feel the same way about a gold throwing in a diamond lobby vs a plat carrying in a gold lobby since by your logic that’s how this works?

I want everyone to know that if you mostly solo queue you WILL NOT climb. Its actually impossible. Im hard stuck in platinum rn and almost EVERY SINGLE time, I outshine my teamates. But even then its not enough when I get horrible teamates. For every one win I get like 3-4 losses. I also want to add that ranked will literally NEVER be balanced until It starts considering your individual performance instead of teamwide performance.
The thing is last season i could easily solo q and rank up to master/gm but now im stuck in dia 1 and lose more then i actually gain?? like i gained 0% sr after a win?? like wtf i wish soloq not to be that hard and miserable…
@sonasencepiu I've had a couple of games in season 10 where I got 0 to 7%, sometimes for an uphill battle, etc when I won even though that should boost it more I would think? My friend got 7 to 20% for the same games somehow lol and he's only one rank different.
Same, my stats look hilarious. I have a high 60s-high 80s winrate on each hero and I'm barely ranking up. I win nearly every game but don't move much. Even when the game says I was supposed to lose but won and "win streak" I still only go up like 25%
E freaking exactly... Like go up 20 percent or less, but lose one game and then go down 60 or 40 or hell I had one game that I lost 120sr. It stinks after only going up 60sr from winning 5 to 6 games and not ranking up.

One tip you have has been a huge one for me lately, which is to follow more. Just by focusing on (as a DPS myself) simply following the Tank or other DPS around the map more often, instead of doing my own thing, I'm winning more games.. ESPECIALLY early in the fight to help get those early kills and break through the sustain of the other team.
The moment you said communicate more I let out the biggest laugh. No one talks on console except to flame even if they're in VC they're not listening sure I can ping but that gets ignored too. Not to mention I'm a solo Q player (friends gave up on the game in the early seasons) so I'm basically playing comp for points at this rate because for some reason Blizzard doesn't seem to improve the solo Q experience in fact I say it probably got worse because now its win one lose one rinse and repeat sure its comp I'm not expecting to win every game but fam can I at least win 3 in a fucking row I'm steady flopping between plat 4 and Plat 5 since the rank reset this shit is not fun.
EXACTLY! I solo q (have no one to play with) No one is ever in vc unless they want to talk smack to a teammate. I was playing QP today and my mercy was flaming me saying we were playing a 4v5 and I wasn't even doing too bad and we won anyway. And if people aren't in vc they will still flame in team/match chat. VC will be active in higher ranks or with friends though

I play on console and have started playing less and less due to the toxicity on voice; however, I had an incredible group in comp (I'm low elo as I've not been doing comp for long), and we played 4v5 and won after our 5th dropped. my experience this season is that im getting more balanced matches, but this week i have been getting alot of leavers or people that stop playing to argue with eachother
From my personal experience it's a twofold problem. 1. Ranks got pulled into the middle, which means if I'm playing plat/gold games, I'm still playing against people who were low-mid diamond last season. This makes it harder to win those games, which is especially important considering how impactful placements are. 2. The number of games needed to rank up. I just need to play tons of games in order to climb. If I'm only playing after getting off work, I only have time to play a few comp games each night, so even if I win all my games in a night I might not rank up.
Just won 8 out of 10 games (5 in a row), got from silver 2 to silver 1, lost 1 (had demotion protection), lost another one in which my team had to carry the payload to the enemy base, but my team focused in raiding the enemy base, dying along the way, so the enemies then raided the payload to crush the rest of us. Had a huge demotion because of shitty volatile, im tired of this shit.
i can attest to the “playing with a duo” comment 100%. I almost exclusively play comp as a support duo with a friend who ONLY plays moira. to be fair, he’s made it to masters as a one trick but our games are usually that I end up being the flex support because he never swaps. But honestly its funny because we play so much that we have a really great synergy to where we dont even need to comm to know what the other person is doing lmao
Honestly though 2 stacking is the best because it’s easy to set up, provides a good environment to say when someone needs to work on something and honestly allows more fun and interesting plays
If someone leaves they should compensate with an increase of sr in the leavers team if they manage to win so if they win they gain a bonus while if they lose it stays normal
Top 500 Lucio here; imma let yall all know right now, you should not be working to raise your rank. If you’re in the metal ranks, just stay there HIGH. RANK. IS. HORRIBLE. You’d think things get better as you climb, but it don’t. The toxicity is at a peak in T500, leavers, throwers, 15 min queue times, it’s all magnified. The only reason you want to rank up to top 500 is because you wanna feel that validation, but the validation only lasts as long as till you start the next game. Trust me bro. I’d rather be a diamond than a top 500 any day.
Good Golly Gee my teammates in elo hell make such bronze plays sometimes. I've been maining lifeweaver this season, and I need to facepalm so hard my skull caves in from how many times I yoink a bastion or 76 to high ground and they Immediately jump off into all 5 of the enemy, or I yoink the 150hp tank out of the fight, only for them to continue pressing W and die. Like, I have 1/2 or 1/3 the amount of deaths of any of my teammates, equal healing, and the most assists, but we'll still lose. A haunting reminder that you can't outheal your teammates' mistakes.
Faced the same exact 5 stack 3 times in a row last night. Had a throwing Lucio for the first 2 matches and a crappy Lucio the third time. Me and a friend got smacked the first 2 matches but even with a crappy Lucio we smacked them hard the final match 😂
all you need to climb is just do not talk to teamates and they will not get toxic and they will not throw game, most of games you lose is because you or someone talking, and that just creates fustration and kills desire to win game. Now i gona go and play game and throw it :D cause its fun :D
I feel like the lower ranks are the worst. No matter how well I play, it’s always either the tank throwing or both dps are garbage. I’m usually hitting 15-20k heals with mercy and 2-3k dps as well. Still in silver though
No fr mercy doesn’t work for most compositions, sure you can get. A lot of healing but it’s like moira. She can do a lot of damage or a lot of healing but she can’t really make SAVES and mercy’s rez isn’t enough. Need a little bit of damage in there due to 20% decrease healing passive due to damage.
Literally just give up on playing Mercy only. It’s not worth getting good with her. There is no reward because you have 0 impact compared to other supports. Take advantage of being a low rank and being able to get away with playing poorly on new heroes. If you don’t then you will sink a lot of time into it, watch your replays, and always realize the outcome was out of your control. The devs also hate Mercy so she is perpetually mediocre at best.
Im tin the same situation actually only been climbing feeling much more in control on support and DPS. But on tank I feel a little at the mercy of my team. Though I didnt place horribly on tank and I am not grinding tank so hard to speak to.
So YOURE the problem on my team 😂. Idk why they pulled yall up so much. I’m a masters player who’s now stuck in plat 1 because of bad teammates. Go back to gold/silver please! No offense, of course.

They literally explained they were putting bronze in gold and anyone above gold would go closer to if not in gold as well… it’s a terrible idea. A bad mess

I honestly don't care what rank i am as long as it's not bronze. Most of the time in bronze, it's either new players or smurfs. The only reason to rank up is to be able to play more balanced skill levels.
Been top 500 before on tank and normally sit high masters to gm depending on how much im playing in between work and stuff but im in diamond this season and have improved so much.Rough season for tanking some games
This season has been rough, I managed to hit diamond but lost it in a day, I’m still platinum 1 but I’m a couple games to diamond again and once I hit diamond I’m going to take a break of comp
I don't believe it will get any better for as long as Blizzard keeps validating the selfish player so much... Things like having a functional mic and not talking on comms when there's a sombra stalking you from behind should simply not be acceptable. Same with those guys with overly cranked music not listening to any of the comms or having any sonic awareness for that matter. That's the all-time low on comms and willingness for teamwork. Plus, the DPS update kind of closed the gap between bad players and the average ones who really try. Can't help it but hating how Blizzard tries to shove a shallow concept of teamwork down everyone's throats when they're not really willing to punish those who literally destroy the concept in ranked play. They are the big majority and the ones who spend a fortune on overpriced skins after all... Surely activision's perfectly fine with it. Like you said. It's needed more than ever now... But there's no willingness and now games are a clusterfuck of Plats, Diamonds, Masters and GM's in the exact same lobby. The solo queue experience just became more insufferable and impossible to enjoy than it's ever been.
Was stuck in silver 5 all season 9 and when i started duo or 3 stacking with players from a pug group i play in on sundays i started to climb. on gold 5 now and i do find i climb better with duo over 3 stack but also 3 stack it is easier to play dive comp.
Same. Ive had a few games where i lost and it canceled out one to two wins i just got so i didnt move. Trying to grind ranked but a struggle with this for results. Feel just stuck at times.
@ethan25107 I weirdly have had lots more leavers on dps compared to tank or support. I still get on those roles but it's like maybe 1/10 games. Dps feels like 1/4 games. Sometimes every other game. After waiting 10+ minutes to get in only to have someone automatically leave and gotta priority requeue(aka regularly queue lol) it gets a bit annoying and don't really want to play anymore. At least i don't get a loss then unlike other games where they leave first team fight etc and you can wait two minutes to get an automatic loss unless somehow you win a 4 vs 5 which is very rare. I've maybe done it twice.
Played the other night as a solo queue which is the only way to play these days unless you have a group of friends that are all at your skill level… (bring back group finder!). Anyway, I’ve been a solid masters player for the past 2-3 seasons. Did my placements and they started by saying I’m predicted to be gold…. Excuse me? Masters to gold?! After finishing my placements it placed me in plat 1…. SO WRONG. Now I’m stuck in elo hell with actual plat players because I look at their profiles and they’ve literally never been out of plat. This rank reset is AWFUL for the game. I then found a bunch of solo ppl with mics and we grouped up. Turns out every single one of them was a former masters player who couldn’t get out of plat to save their lives. The truth of it is, they reset everyone way too much. We are stuck playing with people 2 FULL ranks below our actual level. Why can’t I get on teams with grandmasters on my team? Why do I have the true golds and below on my team? This matchmaking is awful. Fix it. Give us back our ranks we worked hard for.
I had the same with placements as well. Win a game, you must be bronze. Win 4 games. You must be bronze...I win 6 games..I guess bronze 3 not 5. Win 7. Maybe you might be silver. Lose one.. I guess gold... ended up 7 and 3 and got gold 5. Get the same winning % on tank, dps. Didn't budge from bronze 3. Open queue got silver 1. The placement makes no sense. Also why wins get generally around 8 to 16%(only seen once and highest, I've gotten), and most losses generally start at 20 and go up to 40%. 😂 feels not good to lose a third to nearly half a rank for one Loss but if I win once or twice, barely get a third of a rank if that.
Idk if its because im on console but the new ranking system is fucked. I won all 10 of my dps placements got placed into gold 3. This past weekend i won 3 games in a row the first game went up like half progress bar. Second win went up a little due to being expected to win. The 3rd game however we won again for the 3 streak and i lost about half of my progress bar with no reasoning being shown as to why. It makes no sense to me.
im also struggling in gold when im usually plat, i think its people purposefully losing games that used to be gm to rank up faster, thus increasing their chance of champion@@stuardylan
I think it's funny, I learned to use my ults more often because I okay Destiny. And I realized that I was holding my ults during entire pve or pvp games
I have less than 40 hours playing the game but it's fun! I just unlocked competitive mode and didn't get a real rank yet but my projected tank rating is bronze 3, bronze 1 for dps, and gold 3 for support...haha
I know the feeling. Even as support and winning most of my placement games it's like bronze 5 you go...until I hit game 7 then silver then game 9 went to gold 5. As tank and dps, even when I won most of my games, it just stayed bronze 5 the whole time until game 10 it finally went bronze 3 😂. Ridiculous lol

I was having that as well except for me it didn't change colour until game 7 of placement as support even though I had gone 6 and 1 so far. It was like nope your bronze then all of a sudden I'm silver then gold by game 10. Makes no sense. Went about the same on dps and tank but the game kept them in bronze the whole time and never changed which seemed a bit ridiculous.
Working on my pool of support characters. I'm currently very comfortable (and good dare I say) with Moira and Lucio. I'm working on Bap and Ana. Do you think this is a good, flexible pool to have?
I have two accounts. One I solo, and one I play with my little brothers. One ended last season at Plat 2/3 and the other at Diamond 2. Plat account placed Gold 4 and Diamond account placed Plat 4. Diamond account I have relatively easily climbed to one win away from Diamond 5 and the other I literally can’t get out of Gold. Only managed to climb briefly to plat 5 and have since fallen to Gold 2. The issue is how frequently I’ll get a gold tank and the enemy has a former Diamond tank and they just role my whole team and there’s only so much I can do as support. Of course sometimes I get a former diamond tank and we roll them but it just turns into this 50/50 game but then you lose a close game a couple times and now you’ve fallen an entire rank.
Yeah people with multiple accounts understand the botched ranking system. Apparently according to blizzard’s MM system, I’m hardstuck, masters, gold and plat all at the same time
I get confused cuz if I win in support it gives me like 30% progress, but if I win in dps category it only bumps me up 8-11% like that makes no sense to me.
Also hello fresh is great. But you gotta make sure you actually eat all the food they give you. It can be easy to let it go to waste with how much stuff they give you. So make sure you're hungry if you get hello fresh haha.
My tip, have 4 gm rank players on your team in a party they help you get to gm very very easily that how i got to gm,, i would not have got that rank if it wasn't for my team,,, ps, never play ov2 solo ever, randoms will let you down constantly, thats the best tip of them all,, only join up with the sweatiest players you can get , you be surprised how easy you can get to gm this way,, im on my way for the next rank

I’m stuck in matchmaking hell weather I’m solo or with 1 or 2 friends there’s always at least 1 person normally the tank or other support depending on what my friends play that play like they’ve just opened the game for the first time or are just purposely throwing / playing bad I’ve gone from silver5 90 percent to almost bronze 2 in a week because i keep getting huge loss streaks from 1 player in the. Team being disgustingly terrible hopefully they fix whatever it is that matches players like that with people who actually are decent at the game
from what I can tell they match the highest ranked player in the lobby with the lowest ranked player in the lobby, I am consistently in the lobbies where my rank is the lobby rank cap, it very much feels like every time I have the lowest ranked player on my team with the exact result you are talking about, either they have never even seen a video game before or treating it like QP and just feeding. I'd LOVE to be the lowest ranked player in the lobby even half the time.
I’m so fucked this season, I can’t play tracer nor genji to make a dive comp, I’m so bad at them. My rank rn is diamond 4, but with them I’m probably around gold or less lmao. I usually play Soldier, Cass and Soujorn lol
Ever since EU servers have been merged with Saudi Arabia servers most my ranked games been garbage ngl. No communication due to language barrier and so many leavers. People don't even wait in spawn to group up, they go out 1 by 1. I just gave up, so I'm just farming points for the new weapons at this point.
for me as a tank player in gold 5 i get really bad teamates in some games due to bad placement of them.. hear me out in my most recent game i was playing winston cause i got a genji and tracer but they were so bad the genji had 1 kill and 27 deaths while tracer was just throwing. the enemy team had a sojourn ho has 53 kills and 3 deaths (all 3 times i killed). i want to state they were not bots they were real players.
If I wanted to rank up I would play nothing but counter picks. I'm at the point where Id rather play a character I enjoy over a character that's a better chance at winning.
Only issue is the rankings a little bit off so I'll be honest I'm stuck in Elo hell but a few games they put us in with gold like it's broken like it was an ow1. I hope it's not going to be the same
I got kinda fucked in my placements. Doing them instantly with my stack not understanding the new meta. Went 4-6 or 3-7 I think. Managed to kinda fix it and stay in M3 now. Thought hitting gm again would be easier than ever but it's the opposite so I am more than satisifed with getting low gm this season xD
That's crazy you got so high with a losing placement record. I went 7 3 and barely got gold 5 on my support. Went 6 and 4 and got silver 1 on open, bronze 3 on tank and bronze 4 on dps. Not making any sense for placements 😂
@@RealLifeLuca makes more sense for placement. I am not sure what I was since I skipped comp for a few seasons. I did feel I won a lot more games with the card system though and also more often than not had competitive and good games. Rarely leavers too. These days I consider it a good game if there isn't a leaver which seems to happen every 1/3 games lol.
I completely agree with most of everything you say but I don't like that my rank is controlled by dumbazzes and I still get punished for it because I might have the fundamentals but they other players might not and again I'm punished for it.

I keep playing C tier Ana in protest until they buff her. Went from master5 to plat3. It's okay, I'm a true Ana main. Not going to abandon her because she sucks. Also, I think I heard like 5 players actually speak tactics (screaming not counted) in the last 5 seasons.

First the obvious reason the rank system started before 2 or 3 weeks and not a single player not a top 500 not a pro and not a streamer reached gm1. This means that the new is bad. The next reason are the points matchmaking you find random games about your elo i give a a exemple from my smurf that is stuck in p5 (placed p4) after 50 games i find overall more games bellow p5 atm becaurse of the que time and i think most of the playerbase is gold so the game give me more gold games but thats a issue for my curent elo when i win it i get less elo (18-20) when i lose its incresed (22-40). And now let's go to the ow2 confirmed plus and minus points for your rank. Good points for matchmaking are win streak and lose streak. Calibration is ok it isnt terrinle it isnt verry good. And now i come to the terrible points that shoundt be in the game uphill battle consulation reversal expected calibration volatile. This is why you cant climb the rank atm and the fact why im right and its true
Btw here are funfacts im all role player so idn on what roles it was but my least win was +3 and my biggest lose was -44. And i think winstreaks dont matter my biggest was 6 wins with maybe 22-25 points and my biggest losing was maybe 4 games with -30. So as i said you cant come back to your rank this season if you was higher as gold.
I find wins I get between 6 to maybe 16% usually but with a loss I get 20 to 40%. It's making it hard to even stay a rank let alone climb anywhere. 🤷♂️
I'm hard stuck in gold 3. I kid you not. Games go win/lose/win/lose. You can't get a "Winning Streak", when people at this rank don't understand when to swap when they are getting countered. Also on another note. Solo queuing makes it so ridiculously hard to rank up. If the other team is 2-3 stack you are going to lose no matter how good you do. They have comms, and synergy. Your team doesn't 90% of the time.
i load into games where my whole screen is just underneath the map and i cant choose a hero or anything and end up being kicked for innactivity. once my suspension is up i then load into another comp game but end up stuck on entering game/game found for a bit. then it turns out i have been kicked for inactivity from a game that i NEVER JOINED😭 1hr suspension and heck i don’t even wanna know how much i’ve deranked. this was a very unlucky back to back but i have gotten the loading under the map glitch at least 5 times this season. why is nothing being said about this glitch??
Feel like im plat but cant get out of silver, aim decent, positionings okay, and somewhat knows how to counter but its just been 1 game win 1 game lose no matter what
Pushed from plat 3 to diamond 3 one tricking Lucio but now I’m back in diamond 5. It feels like no matter what I do nothing dies. I swap to ana or zen then get fucked because I don’t get peeled, team swaps to a higher synergy comp, still can’t kill anything, because they have moira. Its just so boring
I'm gonna be real with you. This game is a 9-5 commitment, if you have responsibilities and cant play this game for hours a day. you aren't gonna get very far, and i recommend you try to find enjoyment in playing it casually. or play a different game
Most of my losses are because of randoms and it’s frustrating because I’m doing the most that I can as a support but usually my dps is lacking or tank is just getting diffed…

Im not saying im the best, and i know im responsible for myself. But bro the reason im stucked in elo hell. Are mostly leavers and tanks. I got 3 leavers in 3 consecutive games🤬😡🤬. Tank right now is the most difficult position to play and most people dont know how to play it, create space and they only like to spam “heal me” and W and then blame the support for not healing them. they also see they are being counter by 3 characters from the other team and stay the whole game with the same char.😒 im not the best but i try and is not fun anymore. especially when you have to wait between 3 to 5 min to find a game 😢😢.

@Bluemansonic I know the feeling. Whether I pick tank or dps as solo or when queued with friends it's minimum like 8 to 10 minutes if lucky. Even support which says 1 min(as does tank) its sometimes like 3 to 5 minutes. I do agree that it feels like there are a lot of leavers these days and since losses hurt a lot more for climbing now(it feels like since you lose often much more % then I get with any win I've gotten even if uphill etc) and you often are forced one with leavers, it sucks a lot and frustrating to play comp at all.

Cuz it's the rank reset season. Me and 90% of my M1 - Gm5 friends were dropped to gold-plat for placement where we just destroyed lobbies. Same happened when I was looking at my gf's gameplay. There is usually that 1 guy who didn't do the placements/got unlucky with it that has to climb back to higher ranks. I'd say it is a caviat of rank reset and prolly will fix itself in a couple of seasons

I know we all suffer from bad teammates and we are not all good enough to carry every game. It is so hard to climb this season in my opinion. Especially when tanks get melted by some good dps

@@beartrap9367 I think support and tank are more important roles, and you can have a bigger impact if you’re good at the role. With how comp is, its frustrating to play with really bad players in gold, getting a 60%+ win rate to rank up is not possible most of the time.
The ultimate tip is never solo queue. Solo queue means you are rolling a dice no matter how good you are. Never have I ever duo'd where I didn't win 8/10 games even when my partner was way ahead of me in rank (rank breakdown explained below).
Edit: since everyone is a little negative Nancy and likes to talk shit here’s some more context for those that actually want the tip. You play a game where you win? Add someone on your team who did well and tell them you’re down to duo and to shoot you an invite when they see you on. Do this several times and it becomes a lot easier to have someone on you can play with as a team. Additionally all these people saying you’re getting boosted. Give me a break. If you stack in any form you’re more likely to play against other stacks, and I hate to break it to you but the matchmaking right now will put you in a bronze lobby even if you’re silver, it will put you in a gold lobby even if you’re bronze. Your games will be unfair whether that’s in your favor or to your detriment more often than it will be an even match and that gets even worse the higher rank you go. Furthermore my direct story is my recent duo with a friend who hasn’t played a game since well before kiriko was released and we just did his placements. He’s mid plat and high gold for some roles, I’m mid plat and high gold for some roles. Guess what our opponents are lol? Same thing.
In regards to “boosting” You know you can only play with someone a division above you right? If this is considered boosting, you better start reporting everyone every time you get in a lobby where your opponents rank is higher than yours (this will happen every game btw). Additionally if they’re plat and you’re gold, you’re going to end up in diamond lobbies especially if you’re in a group of any size and so I’d ask you if you feel the same way about a gold throwing in a diamond lobby vs a plat carrying in a gold lobby since by your logic that’s how this works?

I want everyone to know that if you mostly solo queue you WILL NOT climb. Its actually impossible. Im hard stuck in platinum rn and almost EVERY SINGLE time, I outshine my teamates. But even then its not enough when I get horrible teamates. For every one win I get like 3-4 losses.
I also want to add that ranked will literally NEVER be balanced until It starts considering your individual performance instead of teamwide performance.

I have no problem winning. I have a 65% win rate but my rank still doesn't go up. I lose much more than I gain. It's pretty funny tbh
Same, my stats look hilarious. I have a high 60s-high 80s winrate on each hero and I'm barely ranking up. I win nearly every game but don't move much. Even when the game says I was supposed to lose but won and "win streak" I still only go up like 25%
E freaking exactly... Like go up 20 percent or less, but lose one game and then go down 60 or 40 or hell I had one game that I lost 120sr. It stinks after only going up 60sr from winning 5 to 6 games and not ranking up.

One tip you have has been a huge one for me lately, which is to follow more. Just by focusing on (as a DPS myself) simply following the Tank or other DPS around the map more often, instead of doing my own thing, I'm winning more games.. ESPECIALLY early in the fight to help get those early kills and break through the sustain of the other team.
The moment you said communicate more I let out the biggest laugh. No one talks on console except to flame even if they're in VC they're not listening sure I can ping but that gets ignored too. Not to mention I'm a solo Q player (friends gave up on the game in the early seasons) so I'm basically playing comp for points at this rate because for some reason Blizzard doesn't seem to improve the solo Q experience in fact I say it probably got worse because now its win one lose one rinse and repeat sure its comp I'm not expecting to win every game but fam can I at least win 3 in a fucking row I'm steady flopping between plat 4 and Plat 5 since the rank reset this shit is not fun.

EXACTLY! I solo q (have no one to play with) No one is ever in vc unless they want to talk smack to a teammate. I was playing QP today and my mercy was flaming me saying we were playing a 4v5 and I wasn't even doing too bad and we won anyway. And if people aren't in vc they will still flame in team/match chat. VC will be active in higher ranks or with friends though

I play on console and have started playing less and less due to the toxicity on voice; however, I had an incredible group in comp (I'm low elo as I've not been doing comp for long), and we played 4v5 and won after our 5th dropped.

Agreed. Still plenty of either get rolled or you roll the other team games though especially with the amount of leavers sadly.
From my personal experience it's a twofold problem.
1. Ranks got pulled into the middle, which means if I'm playing plat/gold games, I'm still playing against people who were low-mid diamond last season. This makes it harder to win those games, which is especially important considering how impactful placements are.
2. The number of games needed to rank up. I just need to play tons of games in order to climb. If I'm only playing after getting off work, I only have time to play a few comp games each night, so even if I win all my games in a night I might not rank up.
Just won 8 out of 10 games (5 in a row), got from silver 2 to silver 1, lost 1 (had demotion protection), lost another one in which my team had to carry the payload to the enemy base, but my team focused in raiding the enemy base, dying along the way, so the enemies then raided the payload to crush the rest of us.
Had a huge demotion because of shitty volatile, im tired of this shit.
i can attest to the “playing with a duo” comment 100%. I almost exclusively play comp as a support duo with a friend who ONLY plays moira. to be fair, he’s made it to masters as a one trick but our games are usually that I end up being the flex support because he never swaps. But honestly its funny because we play so much that we have a really great synergy to where we dont even need to comm to know what the other person is doing lmao
Honestly though 2 stacking is the best because it’s easy to set up, provides a good environment to say when someone needs to work on something and honestly allows more fun and interesting plays
If someone leaves they should compensate with an increase of sr in the leavers team if they manage to win so if they win they gain a bonus while if they lose it stays normal

The only reason you want to rank up to top 500 is because you wanna feel that validation, but the validation only lasts as long as till you start the next game.

Good Golly Gee my teammates in elo hell make such bronze plays sometimes. I've been maining lifeweaver this season, and I need to facepalm so hard my skull caves in from how many times I yoink a bastion or 76 to high ground and they Immediately jump off into all 5 of the enemy, or I yoink the 150hp tank out of the fight, only for them to continue pressing W and die.
Like, I have 1/2 or 1/3 the amount of deaths of any of my teammates, equal healing, and the most assists, but we'll still lose.

I went on a 25 game win streak and only went from silver 5 to silver 3. Even once I lost a game I'm still winning almost all of my games.
Faced the same exact 5 stack 3 times in a row last night. Had a throwing Lucio for the first 2 matches and a crappy Lucio the third time. Me and a friend got smacked the first 2 matches but even with a crappy Lucio we smacked them hard the final match 😂

all you need to climb is just do not talk to teamates and they will not get toxic and they will not throw game, most of games you lose is because you or someone talking, and that just creates fustration and kills desire to win game. Now i gona go and play game and throw it :D cause its fun :D

No fr mercy doesn’t work for most compositions, sure you can get. A lot of healing but it’s like moira. She can do a lot of damage or a lot of healing but she can’t really make SAVES and mercy’s rez isn’t enough. Need a little bit of damage in there due to 20% decrease healing passive due to damage.
Literally just give up on playing Mercy only. It’s not worth getting good with her. There is no reward because you have 0 impact compared to other supports. Take advantage of being a low rank and being able to get away with playing poorly on new heroes. If you don’t then you will sink a lot of time into it, watch your replays, and always realize the outcome was out of your control. The devs also hate Mercy so she is perpetually mediocre at best.
Total opposite experience went from DPS Gold 5 to Plat 2 - feeling in control of games now and teams are getting better and better as i'm climbing

Im tin the same situation actually only been climbing feeling much more in control on support and DPS. But on tank I feel a little at the mercy of my team. Though I didnt place horribly on tank and I am not grinding tank so hard to speak to.

My teams this season almost always group up and bot main. Then tank pushes deep while back line gets flanked. No one takes angles or baits out flanks
I honestly don't care what rank i am as long as it's not bronze. Most of the time in bronze, it's either new players or smurfs. The only reason to rank up is to be able to play more balanced skill levels.
Been top 500 before on tank and normally sit high masters to gm depending on how much im playing in between work and stuff but im in diamond this season and have improved so much.Rough season for tanking some games

I don't believe it will get any better for as long as Blizzard keeps validating the selfish player so much... Things like having a functional mic and not talking on comms when there's a sombra stalking you from behind should simply not be acceptable. Same with those guys with overly cranked music not listening to any of the comms or having any sonic awareness for that matter.
That's the all-time low on comms and willingness for teamwork. Plus, the DPS update kind of closed the gap between bad players and the average ones who really try. Can't help it but hating how Blizzard tries to shove a shallow concept of teamwork down everyone's throats when they're not really willing to punish those who literally destroy the concept in ranked play. They are the big majority and the ones who spend a fortune on overpriced skins after all... Surely activision's perfectly fine with it.
Like you said. It's needed more than ever now... But there's no willingness and now games are a clusterfuck of Plats, Diamonds, Masters and GM's in the exact same lobby. The solo queue experience just became more insufferable and impossible to enjoy than it's ever been.

My friend was masters and I was diamond and we are both low diamond right now.
Was stuck in silver 5 all season 9 and when i started duo or 3 stacking with players from a pug group i play in on sundays i started to climb. on gold 5 now and i do find i climb better with duo over 3 stack but also 3 stack it is easier to play dive comp.

@ethan25107 I weirdly have had lots more leavers on dps compared to tank or support. I still get on those roles but it's like maybe 1/10 games. Dps feels like 1/4 games. Sometimes every other game. After waiting 10+ minutes to get in only to have someone automatically leave and gotta priority requeue(aka regularly queue lol) it gets a bit annoying and don't really want to play anymore. At least i don't get a loss then unlike other games where they leave first team fight etc and you can wait two minutes to get an automatic loss unless somehow you win a 4 vs 5 which is very rare. I've maybe done it twice.
Played the other night as a solo queue which is the only way to play these days unless you have a group of friends that are all at your skill level… (bring back group finder!). Anyway, I’ve been a solid masters player for the past 2-3 seasons. Did my placements and they started by saying I’m predicted to be gold…. Excuse me? Masters to gold?! After finishing my placements it placed me in plat 1…. SO WRONG. Now I’m stuck in elo hell with actual plat players because I look at their profiles and they’ve literally never been out of plat. This rank reset is AWFUL for the game. I then found a bunch of solo ppl with mics and we grouped up. Turns out every single one of them was a former masters player who couldn’t get out of plat to save their lives. The truth of it is, they reset everyone way too much. We are stuck playing with people 2 FULL ranks below our actual level. Why can’t I get on teams with grandmasters on my team? Why do I have the true golds and below on my team? This matchmaking is awful. Fix it. Give us back our ranks we worked hard for.
I had the same with placements as well. Win a game, you must be bronze. Win 4 games. You must be bronze...I win 6 games..I guess bronze 3 not 5. Win 7. Maybe you might be silver. Lose one.. I guess gold... ended up 7 and 3 and got gold 5. Get the same winning % on tank, dps. Didn't budge from bronze 3. Open queue got silver 1. The placement makes no sense.
Also why wins get generally around 8 to 16%(only seen once and highest, I've gotten), and most losses generally start at 20 and go up to 40%. 😂 feels not good to lose a third to nearly half a rank for one Loss but if I win once or twice, barely get a third of a rank if that.
Idk if its because im on console but the new ranking system is fucked. I won all 10 of my dps placements got placed into gold 3. This past weekend i won 3 games in a row the first game went up like half progress bar. Second win went up a little due to being expected to win. The 3rd game however we won again for the 3 streak and i lost about half of my progress bar with no reasoning being shown as to why. It makes no sense to me.
the new rank is very heavily influenced by the season 8 rank, if you were gold 3 last season youre more likely to be gold 3 this season

I have less than 40 hours playing the game but it's fun! I just unlocked competitive mode and didn't get a real rank yet but my projected tank rating is bronze 3, bronze 1 for dps, and gold 3 for support...haha
I know the feeling. Even as support and winning most of my placement games it's like bronze 5 you go...until I hit game 7 then silver then game 9 went to gold 5. As tank and dps, even when I won most of my games, it just stayed bronze 5 the whole time until game 10 it finally went bronze 3 😂. Ridiculous lol

My placements were 10/10 wins and I was placed in Silver 5. Before the "reset" I was Silver 1. Before OW2 I was almost Diamond.
I was having that as well except for me it didn't change colour until game 7 of placement as support even though I had gone 6 and 1 so far. It was like nope your bronze then all of a sudden I'm silver then gold by game 10. Makes no sense. Went about the same on dps and tank but the game kept them in bronze the whole time and never changed which seemed a bit ridiculous.

I played my placement matches, and I won 6 out of 10 matches. 3 of the matches, one of my team dc. So it placed gold 1 because I lost 4 games.
I have two accounts. One I solo, and one I play with my little brothers. One ended last season at Plat 2/3 and the other at Diamond 2. Plat account placed Gold 4 and Diamond account placed Plat 4. Diamond account I have relatively easily climbed to one win away from Diamond 5 and the other I literally can’t get out of Gold. Only managed to climb briefly to plat 5 and have since fallen to Gold 2. The issue is how frequently I’ll get a gold tank and the enemy has a former Diamond tank and they just role my whole team and there’s only so much I can do as support. Of course sometimes I get a former diamond tank and we roll them but it just turns into this 50/50 game but then you lose a close game a couple times and now you’ve fallen an entire rank.

I get confused cuz if I win in support it gives me like 30% progress, but if I win in dps category it only bumps me up 8-11% like that makes no sense to me.

Also hello fresh is great. But you gotta make sure you actually eat all the food they give you. It can be easy to let it go to waste with how much stuff they give you. So make sure you're hungry if you get hello fresh haha.

My tip, have 4 gm rank players on your team in a party they help you get to gm very very easily that how i got to gm,, i would not have got that rank if it wasn't for my team,,, ps, never play ov2 solo ever, randoms will let you down constantly, thats the best tip of them all,, only join up with the sweatiest players you can get , you be surprised how easy you can get to gm this way,, im on my way for the next rank

I’m stuck in matchmaking hell weather I’m solo or with 1 or 2 friends there’s always at least 1 person normally the tank or other support depending on what my friends play that play like they’ve just opened the game for the first time or are just purposely throwing / playing bad I’ve gone from silver5 90 percent to almost bronze 2 in a week because i keep getting huge loss streaks from 1 player in the. Team being disgustingly terrible hopefully they fix whatever it is that matches players like that with people who actually are decent at the game
from what I can tell they match the highest ranked player in the lobby with the lowest ranked player in the lobby, I am consistently in the lobbies where my rank is the lobby rank cap, it very much feels like every time I have the lowest ranked player on my team with the exact result you are talking about, either they have never even seen a video game before or treating it like QP and just feeding. I'd LOVE to be the lowest ranked player in the lobby even half the time.

I’m so fucked this season, I can’t play tracer nor genji to make a dive comp, I’m so bad at them. My rank rn is diamond 4, but with them I’m probably around gold or less lmao. I usually play Soldier, Cass and Soujorn lol
Ever since EU servers have been merged with Saudi Arabia servers most my ranked games been garbage ngl. No communication due to language barrier and so many leavers. People don't even wait in spawn to group up, they go out 1 by 1. I just gave up, so I'm just farming points for the new weapons at this point.
for me as a tank player in gold 5 i get really bad teamates in some games due to bad placement of them.. hear me out in my most recent game i was playing winston cause i got a genji and tracer but they were so bad the genji had 1 kill and 27 deaths while tracer was just throwing. the enemy team had a sojourn ho has 53 kills and 3 deaths (all 3 times i killed). i want to state they were not bots they were real players.
If I wanted to rank up I would play nothing but counter picks. I'm at the point where Id rather play a character I enjoy over a character that's a better chance at winning.
Play hanzo or soldier or OP heroes. Most players are stuck in ELO hell because too many people dont have a brain in overwatch and feed constantly.
Only issue is the rankings a little bit off so I'll be honest I'm stuck in Elo hell but a few games they put us in with gold like it's broken like it was an ow1. I hope it's not going to be the same
I've seen games with bronze all the way to gm challengers in comp even though I was gold. 😂 it's totally messed up for matching.
The recent patch that just come out I think stopped my elo hell

I got kinda fucked in my placements. Doing them instantly with my stack not understanding the new meta. Went 4-6 or 3-7 I think. Managed to kinda fix it and stay in M3 now. Thought hitting gm again would be easier than ever but it's the opposite so I am more than satisifed with getting low gm this season xD
That's crazy you got so high with a losing placement record. I went 7 3 and barely got gold 5 on my support. Went 6 and 4 and got silver 1 on open, bronze 3 on tank and bronze 4 on dps. Not making any sense for placements 😂

@@RealLifeLuca makes more sense for placement. I am not sure what I was since I skipped comp for a few seasons. I did feel I won a lot more games with the card system though and also more often than not had competitive and good games. Rarely leavers too. These days I consider it a good game if there isn't a leaver which seems to happen every 1/3 games lol.

I completely agree with most of everything you say but I don't like that my rank is controlled by dumbazzes and I still get punished for it because I might have the fundamentals but they other players might not and again I'm punished for it.

I'm struggling as tank, like I'm playing space nicely and adapting to how my dps want to play. But it feels like my dps are not really helping in team fights. Is this a tank problem or ?
I keep playing C tier Ana in protest until they buff her. Went from master5 to plat3. It's okay, I'm a true Ana main. Not going to abandon her because she sucks.
Also, I think I heard like 5 players actually speak tactics (screaming not counted) in the last 5 seasons.

First the obvious reason the rank system started before 2 or 3 weeks and not a single player not a top 500 not a pro and not a streamer reached gm1. This means that the new is bad. The next reason are the points matchmaking you find random games about your elo i give a a exemple from my smurf that is stuck in p5 (placed p4) after 50 games i find overall more games bellow p5 atm becaurse of the que time and i think most of the playerbase is gold so the game give me more gold games but thats a issue for my curent elo when i win it i get less elo (18-20) when i lose its incresed (22-40). And now let's go to the ow2 confirmed plus and minus points for your rank. Good points for matchmaking are win streak and lose streak. Calibration is ok it isnt terrinle it isnt verry good. And now i come to the terrible points that shoundt be in the game uphill battle consulation reversal expected calibration volatile. This is why you cant climb the rank atm and the fact why im right and its true
Btw here are funfacts im all role player so idn on what roles it was but my least win was +3 and my biggest lose was -44. And i think winstreaks dont matter my biggest was 6 wins with maybe 22-25 points and my biggest losing was maybe 4 games with -30. So as i said you cant come back to your rank this season if you was higher as gold.
b3 ive been stuck in leaver hell, dealing with bots, and throwing. maybe 1 out of every 5 games would actually be competitive. 😑
the other day I went 17-5 and went up one and a half divisions, and you can lose upwards 30+% for a loss. I also lost rank on a draw.
I find wins I get between 6 to maybe 16% usually but with a loss I get 20 to 40%. It's making it hard to even stay a rank let alone climb anywhere. 🤷♂️
Is the only way to get Competitive Points for Jade Weapons playing Matches? Like you dont get any Points at the end of the Season as a reward anymore?

I'm hard stuck in gold 3. I kid you not. Games go win/lose/win/lose. You can't get a "Winning Streak", when people at this rank don't understand when to swap when they are getting countered. Also on another note. Solo queuing makes it so ridiculously hard to rank up. If the other team is 2-3 stack you are going to lose no matter how good you do. They have comms, and synergy. Your team doesn't 90% of the time.
I went from Bronze 5 to Bronze 3, and am working back down again. So, I don't think the reset really has affected me.
im sick of getting expected every rank up. how tf do i improve in game if im performing expected every game! i dont even know what im missing,
i load into games where my whole screen is just underneath the map and i cant choose a hero or anything and end up being kicked for innactivity. once my suspension is up i then load into another comp game but end up stuck on entering game/game found for a bit. then it turns out i have been kicked for inactivity from a game that i NEVER JOINED😭 1hr suspension and heck i don’t even wanna know how much i’ve deranked. this was a very unlucky back to back but i have gotten the loading under the map glitch at least 5 times this season. why is nothing being said about this glitch??
yeah die 3 times a game as moira with 18k heals and 15k dps and still lose every game. thats my fault im sure.

I swap to ana or zen then get fucked because I don’t get peeled, team swaps to a higher synergy comp, still can’t kill anything, because they have moira. Its just so boring

I'm gonna be real with you. This game is a 9-5 commitment, if you have responsibilities and cant play this game for hours a day. you aren't gonna get very far, and i recommend you try to find enjoyment in playing it casually. or play a different game
Most of my losses are because of randoms and it’s frustrating because I’m doing the most that I can as a support but usually my dps is lacking or tank is just getting diffed…
focus on what you're doing and how u can improve from bad situations, even if ur team is straight up dooky, your own improvements are the priority
Yeah dude your never gonna rank up as a support. I'm also a support main and no matter how hard I carry it never makes up for my team's mistakes. I'm honestly thinking of maining dps at this point.

Im not saying im the best, and i know im responsible for myself. But bro the reason im stucked in elo hell. Are mostly leavers and tanks. I got 3 leavers in 3 consecutive games🤬😡🤬.
Tank right now is the most difficult position to play and most people dont know how to play it, create space and they only like to spam “heal me” and W and then blame the support for not healing them. they also see they are being counter by 3 characters from the other team and stay the whole game with the same char.😒 im not the best but i try and is not fun anymore. especially when you have to wait between 3 to 5 min to find a game 😢😢.
I was about to agree with literally everything you said until you said wait three to five minutes per game and that's nothing.... Try an hour long que before complaining about wait times, DBD Killer has taught me patience and I wish y'all would stop complaining about "THIS IS SOOOOO LOOOOONG UUUUURGH 2 MINUTES AAAAASAHHHHHG"

@Bluemansonic I know the feeling. Whether I pick tank or dps as solo or when queued with friends it's minimum like 8 to 10 minutes if lucky. Even support which says 1 min(as does tank) its sometimes like 3 to 5 minutes. I do agree that it feels like there are a lot of leavers these days and since losses hurt a lot more for climbing now(it feels like since you lose often much more % then I get with any win I've gotten even if uphill etc) and you often are forced one with leavers, it sucks a lot and frustrating to play comp at all.
