We must never lose another valuable goaltender again. When we lost/gave up Luongo then the Canucks were 99.99% certain that they had some much rebuilding to do. Yes. We did have the Sedin twins on the ice doing their magic, for the most part, but they were not always connecting with so much pressure on them. Bottom Line: Demko must be fully paid for his extremely hard, top quality work ethic, nevermind his performance every time day in day out.
I didn't think those sprawling saves were practiced, I thought it was just desperation instinct by the goalie. Very cool to see there's method in the madness.
Incredible insight into how Demko stays at the top of his game night in and night out! Wow. It pays to draft players that are coachable, especially goalies. The attention to the finest of details are paid in every play. This is professional coaching at its finest. Vancouver has set the bar extremely high.
I love watching coach Clark work his magic with Demko. It gives me insight on how I should coach my goalies. Great stuff. I wish more teams would put out videos like this. My team the Rangers up I barely know the players. They don’t ever put out videos like this or what Minnesota and what Colorado put out on UA-cam. I know more about those teams and players than mine own.
No wonder Demko always seems to be half a second ahead of the play, like he's clairvoyant. He's probably registering information even before he's consciously aware of it. Also, are we sure we want to share all of Ian Clark's secrets, lol?
Imagine if they are on a team which struggles to score, it's like no matter how much effort they put into training the goalie, everything hinges on the offense scoring. It's a crazy position to be in seeing all this effort they are putting into this.
When other goalies practice this Ian will be doing something more advanced. I like the Russian drill of turning the net towards the back boards and having someone shoot tennis balls of the end zone boards and having the goalie make quick saves
Great stuff. Hope he's working with next years backup Spencer Martin. Unfortunately for us he will be using his talents with Team USA in the off season.
Probably because you and I and us fans fully admire his talent to the umpth degree. Demko IS one of the best goaltenders in the league, including Markstrom (Calgary Flames) too.
Hopefully hes showing Silovs how to stop those Outside Shots from the Point...Silovs reminds me of Schneider Same style as well...Hes going to be great..Hes only 23 Demko is probably one injury away from a trade...Hopefully not though Im worried about Demkos Knee injury This is before that Nashville injury
This doesnt do anything for teams. It's all fundamental stuff that needs to be practiced anyways, plus NHL teams literally have video coaches that have every game he's ever played this year already on tape and cut. So please use your brain next time you think "intel" is being given away in a hockey video.
I played goalie all my life. Highest level I played was BCHL back in the day. Goalie coaches are way over rated at least on ice work. Tye best ones work on the mental side of the game. That's the most difficult part of being a netminder
Ya know this has nothing to do with this, but maybe you should change the garbage music you play when the team scores... it's bloody depressing... worst goal music on all of NHL history and it brings everyone down, especially the players. Think about it...
World class coaching for a world class goalie. Amazing to watch and listen.
@@Acey968 he’s great in shootouts one bad mistake dosent mean he sucks in em
@@Acey968 Demko is .810 in his career for shootouts. That's exceptional.
Clark is absolute Wizard
Meanwhile, every NHL team is downloading this video to show to their goalies
Surprised they're showing so much - sure hope this doesn't reduce their competitive advantage
This gives no more information than they already have on tape
@@RandomGuyCDN good to know, wasn't sure if this is anything out of the ordinary
Fyi I was kidding it's cause Clark is considered one of the best goalie coaches in the NHL
There’s not many secrets in our goaltending world. Just how each GC presents it.
Clarky is awesome to listen to.
What a privilege it is to watch Ian Clark at work. This guy is a serious master at his craft.
This video makes so much sense of how Demko is making these amazing saves every single game🔥👌🏽
Hi arman! ^^
These two, Ian Clark and Thatcher Demko are invaluable to the success of the Canucks organization.
Pay him as much as he wants, we can never lose him
Give him myers contract. He deserves it
*Can't believe they almost let him go and Demko had to make a plea to get him signed.*

There’s just something so ASMR about this. Idk what, but I can legit listen to this for hours
Word. Imagine the dreams you’d have falling asleep to it.
"Whiplash" vibes. Amazing to see their dynamic - the results speak for themselves.
Ian Clark going full philosophical here, amazing stuff
I didn't think those sprawling saves were practiced, I thought it was just desperation instinct by the goalie. Very cool to see there's method in the madness.
Most of the time it is instinct but demko loves to practice it in case
This was so amazing. Super cool. Easily one of my favourite videos the Canucks have ever put out. Sign Clarky for life.

Love that it's a 10 minute video!

The Yoda of goaltending. Skywalker well on his way…
Details on details on top of details! There are no "dumb" Goalies these days. Probably the most mentally strong player on any team.
No wonder Demko always seems to be half a second ahead of the play, like he's clairvoyant. He's probably registering information even before he's consciously aware of it.

Remember, this is just the tip of the iceberg. They left out the most important stuff.
A great display of what it takes to become a world class goalie.
Wow Demko is unbelievable, great coaching video
Love to be able to see his development, go Demko go!!!💙💚
Very interesting to watch. Crazy what goes into being such a good goalie
Ladies and gents that is how you have the proper coaching staff to nurture your franchise goalie
4 more years!
That was awesome thanks for uploading that I really enjoyed watching that 😁 it was cool to see how goalies work in the big leagues
I now see how he makes the flopping walrus and scorpion saves. Nice job Thatcher and coach Clark 😎
Finally seeing coaching on how to function in a flail. So many scenarios we end up on our sides, backs and bellies. Swimming on ice.
This was a really fun and instructive watch. I have shared it with my friend who is a goalie and a Demko fan.
Give him A raise!
Go Canucks go

Ian Clark is one of the best goalie coaches if not the best in the nhl
always liked clark and demko ive been doing some of these drills myself good video Canucks ive watched it about 30 times already lol
The amount of patience is unreal!
Very nice from Ian Clark! Keep it up!
So ... that's what someone who really knows what they're talking about sounds like. So good
This is fascinating to watch.
This is fascinating to watch
OMG.. this is amazing
Wow what a great content. By the middle of the video I felt tired just like I was Thatcher Demko.😅
Please don't forget to share some of that love with Spencer Martin!
Great stuff. Hope he's working with next years backup Spencer Martin.
Unfortunately for us he will be using his talents with Team USA in the off season.
ah yes, our MVP(s)
Hopefully Demko can make a miracle happen. Need to make the playoffs!
Very cool
Best in the league
Probably because you and I and us fans fully admire his talent to the umpth degree.

@@normzeer543 i would say (non biased btw) demko and marky are 2 of the top 10 goaltenders in the leauge
This is sweet. Would love to get individual player training with a skills or skating coach or something
More plsssss

Good one

He’s so fkn fast

Good coach I Gotta say though Demko Seems to keep losing a stick otherwise he looks solid
WOWOWOWOWOWOW
GUYS, STOP GIVING THE OTHER TEAMS INTEL PLZ

Actually some teams don't believe in goalie coaches..
amazing dedication just to stop a puck.
That's what I would have said =)

Greatness can’t be copied. Corey Schneider needs to be signed as the back up
Ian has jell in his hair for a practice. That says everything you need to know about the guy
Demko and Clark = Brady and Belichick
Hope the Canucks or Clark are getting compensated from the other teams as he teaches them his stuff . 😂
They should have just posted these clips out of context
Ya know this has nothing to do with this, but maybe you should change the garbage music you play when the team scores... it's bloody depressing... worst goal music on all of NHL history and it brings everyone down, especially the players. Think about it...
