@@oskarlin Great, thank you for the reply. Could you share the link for the satellite imagery you are using ... this could be the topic of a good youtube video by the way.
Hi Oskar, this is very nice, thank you! could you please tell me what month you took this trip - it looks like there was just a little snow, which I wouldn't have expected, so it looks like you were there either in the autumn or spring?? I'm considering a similar trip, but so far I've only gone ice skating in central Sweden ( ua-cam.com/video/5rZ3fsj_GK4/v-deo.html ) , I don't know much about the conditions in the north so I find it amazing how much you were able to find snow uncovered ice. that's not common at all. Was it luck and chance, or were you looking carefully for the right time to go? What would you most recommend to watch in advance (to consider condition) before trip? (I assume there are not many webcams in the area so I can not check the ice conditions properly...) Also it look that there was not so much snow, so a And I also wanted to ask you - in that kind of cold I'd also rather sleep in a hut than outside, is there a reliable map with huts? Sorry for asking so many questions, but your video boosted me so much....
Hello! This was early January. Because these lakes are so deep they freeze very late compared to many other lakes. I found out this by using my website icefinder.se where one can see the temperature on the surface based on satellite imagery from NASA. Regarding maps, I work as a cartographer and I do topo maps over Swedens mountains and of course this area.
Fantastiskt, både projektet och filmen!
Awesome! The skating, filming, trip and music.
Now I have added subtitles in English!
Loved it! Incredible scenery and nice edit!
Восторг!.Восхищение!
Спасибо вам огромное, Сергей! There are english subtitles to the film now!
Fantastiskt!
nice ! nice : ..................wonderfull
Great idea and great pictures! You should send this movie to some travel movies festiwal.
Which month was that?
Thank you! Yes maybe I should. Any recommendations? It was in the middle of january. Since it's north of the polar circle no sun was to be seen.
I've added english subs now!
Super inspiring video, thank you for sharing
When were you there? Did you have a local contact to make sure the condition was okay?
Thank you! It was January 2016. No local contacts. The research was done with satellite imagery from NASA and ESA.
