Thanks for the review. My Ryobi hand held P737 started to give out after +3 years. I was about to replace with the same model; but, this is a way better with added features for only $10 more (Amazon prices).
Thank you! After watching your video, I was able to put air in my tires this morning. Thanks for the tip about the 5 minute max runtime because it will over heat.
I can tell you from experience that the unit will not turn itself off if you go over minutes. Last year, I was using this as an air up tool for my Jeep when I'm offroad. I didn't even consider use and cool down time, so I would let it eat for all 4 tires. Takes about 10-12 minutes per tire. So...12 minutes, then 60 seconds to the next time, 12 more minutes, etc. Maybe not my best idea.
I got a Brute 15 gal air compressor on wheels, IT works GREAT i keep using it , using it, and using it for 12 years now ~ Never had to add or even change the oil ~ Got a 30 gal out in the shop. But i would RECOMMAND The 15 gal Brute * its been a good one * Harbor Freight got a 20 gal. Mcgraw for under 200 dollars E-Bay 149 dollars, YOU COULDN'T GIVE ME A SEARS COMPRESSER
That's a good setup, Bee. I gotta get me one of those compressors on wheels, because I'm getting too old to be carrying mine around constantly. Ha ha. Mine's just 4 and I'm sick of lugging it around. 15 gallon is a good size.
I think its the perfect size to. bro Its been a good and dependable one. I wish i had all the money i poured in the small one then i step up to the 15 gal its been a good one
@@fixitFlip E-bay had a husky 20 gal for 111 dollars I d k any thing about a Husky in the compressor but they do make a good riding lawn mower he hee ~ I would at less give it a try
I bought one of these in the early summer of 2020. I used it mostly for filling up inflatables on my boat. I stared to notice it was making unusual noises this last summer. Last week while filling up a tire, it stared to smoke and it quit.
Hmm...interesting. Were you using it in 5 minute intervals? It's got a pretty short duty cycle of only 5 minutes. The hose gets pretty hot if you don't stick to it. You could always try taking it back to Home Depot for an exchange.
When you hear that hissing noise it is losing a little bit. So it's a good idea sometimes to fill it just a tad higher than you need since it will lose a little.
I had the old style "pistol" type for years, it just died, I upgraded to the dual function inflator it keeps stopping mid cycle. I turn it off, start it again, and does the same thing. any ideas? Just inflating car tires from 25 to 35, I don't think that its overheating
No, that shouldn't be overheating. Duty cycle is 5 minutes, so if you are running around 5 min at a time you should be okay. Sounds defective maybe. Home Depot's pretty good about returns.
FIX IT FLIP, what duty cycle do you have to use to prevent the tube from getting hot and the compressor from overheating? I'm looking for a cheap inflator that uses a rechargeable battery and will last long
Yes, you will have plenty of battery to do that with a 2ah. The only trick with this machine is letting it cool if it runs for more than 5 minutes. It has a 5 min duty cycle.
Mine is still working well. Have you stored it inside (climate controlled) part of house? That was one thing I worried about so I keep it inside instead of garage.
@@fixitFlip here in central cali "Stockton" it does not get too cold. Not yet any way. Nothing below freezing so far. I have only had it since June but Yes I store it in the garage.
@@texcali3043 Hmm...if you got it at Home Depot, they are pretty good about replacing stuff. That's a shame it quit out on ya though. Fortunately haven't had that issue.
Yes, you would just have to give it breaks to cool down. It's duty cycle is 5 minutes. So run for 5 minutes, then cool for 5 minutes to keep the hose cool and keep it from overheating.

No problem and I agree. I looked at those too. I like how you can set and forget this one. Don't have to squeeze a handle in.
I just picked this model up at Home Depot yesterday. Topped off 2 bicycle tires. Very portable and good for back up.
Yes, one of my favorite tools I own.

Excellent review. Just got this with a free Ryobi light. Thanks 👍
No problem. That's a good deal! I have the light, too. Love it.
Thanks Flip! Ryobi makes a good product.

I located the owner's manual and found out it has a three-year warranty. I called the number on the manual, and they are shipping me a new compressor.
That is one reason I stick with Ryobi. 3 year no BS warranty. No hassles at Home Depot even with batteries!
@@jeremywilliams8558 It just arrived last week. I had to call Ryobi a second time. I didn't try going back to the Home Depot.
Very clear and thorough. Thanks a lot.

Nifty little gadget! Good review
Thank you! It is definitely nifty.
Could I cut off the screw on tip and somehow attach a universal quick disconnect that could then use a lock on inflator?
I'm not sure, I've never tried that before. The screw on tip does take a little longer to attach, but makes a great seal every time.
The JACO quick connect is the best I've ever found. No loss of air when disconnecting. @@fixitFlip
When inflating car tires, when unscrewing the hose, is the tire loosing air? The gauge shows numbers dropping as I unscrew it??

Quick, good thorough review!
Thank you, that’s exactly what I was shooting for!

This one it's pretty short. 5 minutes on, then 5 minutes cool down.
on a typical day, someone might top up tires from 29 to 35 lets say. if i have a 2ah battery, will that be enough to do this on 4 tires?

I just bought one because I got tired of going to the gas station to top my tires

Got one to have in trunk for emergency road service.
Perfect use for something like this. Just make sure that battery is charged.
I have the older version.
Hopefully you like it as much as I like mine.

very affordable compared to arb systems
