      Shawn has absolutely nothing to be ashamed about. His dad knows him best of all. It's a good time to retire, he just didn't seem as active as he was against Errol. I am however so sad because Shawn gave me hours of pleasure with his whirlwind style.

    Shawn is going to take a year off and then comeback without his father. He will have a new trainer. I think it’s just the end of the road for his dad training him. If you have watched the interaction between the 2 during training, his father has all the answers. Shawn has been in the game a long time and a fighter needs to have some input on how he fights because it’s his body. A coach a trainers voice can get old and sometimes you need a new voice. Porter will be back, the people want to see him fight.

    • @p215j

    • @adriantaylor6729
      @adriantaylor6729 2 роки тому +16

      @@p215j His dad still see’s him as his son and not a man because those post fight comments in the ring shouldn’t have been said even if that’s how you truly felt and it was ego driven. And leading up to the fight in the training a lot of what Kenny was saying to Shawn was ego driven. At the end of the day Shawn has to get in their and fight, it’s his body and if he feels his way is best win or lose you back him… Kenny be doing too much finger pointing when shit goes bad but wants all the praise when his son wins. And you could look at Shawn’s body language he loves his dad but he has had enough. Sugar Shane had to do the same thing, Floyd too

      Fans are so weird man. That’s his father and fans still like to over step there boundaries and talk about shit as if your his best friend or some shit. If he was mad at his fathers decision it would’ve been obvious. Why the hell would his father lie about him not being focused in camp? He has nothing to gain from that. A trainer 99% of the time has all of the answers unless your Floyd mayweather lol he probably wouldn’t have stopped the fight if he knew his son trained properly. At the end of the day the same exact thing happened as what happened in the Errol Spence fight. The difference now is that Crawford was a much more dangerous fighter than Spence and he could’ve seriously ended up being hurt. The only future porter has is in the higher wait classes, no point in him challenging younger fighters like jaron ennis and getting beat even worse

    I commend Kenny for stopping the fight before it got really ugly in there but I also condemn Kenny for not allowing Shawn the opportunity to see if he could find a way... All of the greats been hurt but in that defying moment they made a choice that turned the tide. Shawn never had that opportunity because Kenny wasn't willing to see if Shawn could overcome the adversity in that moment.

      @@michealjaymurphy I keep seeing this comment. Another trainer that weekend other than Kenny, Shawn is in the hospital with pictures all over the net of his son laid out cause Bud was about to do some damage to that boy. Good decision by Kenny. These fans don't care, Porter gets seriously hurt they'll post a comment saying "damn.... Etc" and get on with their lives

      He did let him continue he got knocked down twice right? Crawford had Shawn retreating what don’t y’all get. He was going to get brutalized bud was not going to stop swarming him. He was hurt he started to just lunge with every punch trying to keep bud off him he was leaving huge holes for bud to crack him clean that’s why he got dropped twice. The man was on the canvas fumbling around he was hurt. His father did what he was supposed to do defend his son from himself. There was no coming back he was going to get taken out.

    Love me some Kenny. Reminds me of Floyd, Sr; Joe Jackson; Richard Williams; and Tiger’s dad. Overcame and led his child to success. And for the first and last time let’s smoke one to your success!”

    As a parent I understand, any loving parent would, your strongest instinct for your child is to protect. Having said that to me Shaun Porter was going to get Stopped, and beaten up in that round. Bud is sharp and spiteful once he has an opponent hurt, I feel Kenny looked at it like, ' there's no way we are winning this fight so to avoid him looking up at the lights on his back im gona pull him out'

    I have to comment on Kenny's premature stoppage...it was ridiculous...I have trained fighters and been in the ring as a fighter and im also a father...Kenny thinks he knows everything about his son but he doesn't at all, that fight should have continued, porter was doing great, he wasn't hurt at all, just 2 back to back knockdown in the later rounds and that was nothing, fury was down twice in the same round in the wilder trilogy fight and still came back to win, and many other fighters have been thru worse situations in the ring and still came back to win at the end of the fight....this is boxing and its a physical combat sport Kenny, anything can happen at any time to change the outcome of the fight but your son was doing great the whole time until you stopped it...I totally disagree with your judgment of him...he dominated most of the rounds and put all the pressure on Crawford...Shawn needs to put his feet on the ground and start telling his pops how he really feels...he doesn't decide your destiny, you do...he is not on the big stage, you are!!!! Win, lose or draw, you make that decision for yourself bro..you did great and your father needs some serious life and boxing coaching lessons

      "Put all the pressure on crawford" yh you don't take notes, Crawford landed so many power shots in that fight, shawn was just outworking him and they gave him rounds for that, then it clicked to crawford that he needs to be more active he upped the tempo and Porter couldn't respond.

      Fury Dad wants Tyson to Retire after the first devesating KO's from Wilder he said it himself he didn't want him to continue to take those beatings. Fury may have won but the body always loses in the end. Relax Boxing isn't a game or you don't play boxing it's literally life or death and you don't know the damage until many years later.
