In this acoustic guitar shootout, Meg looks at the differences between Taylor GS-Mini one of the best travel guitars available and the new Taylor GT Urban Ash, as slightly larger model utilising the new "Grand Theatre" body shape.
This newly designed guitar comes out of Taylor's American facility and features quite a few big upgrades compared to the GS-Mini. It features all solid tone wood construction, with a Spruce top and Ash back and sides, compared to the layered woods used on the GS models. It features upgraded tuners, a Eucalyptus fingerboard and Taylors widely acclaimed ES-2 Expression System, one of the best sounding electro acoustic pickups available.

I have an Urban Ash GTe, it is awesome. I really wanted a smaller size due to shoulder issues, considered the mini as I really liked playing them, then played the GTe, was sold!

I have the mahogany GS Mini and the mahogany GT. I love them both, but am glad I have the GT for performing. It’s definitely an upgrade, but I love that Mini.

The GS mini Koa plus has the ESP2 pickup. That said, the GT 811E with Rosewood back is really better sounding or maybe the GT611e LTD with maple. Thanks for the great demo.

They look pretty similar and both uses ES2.
Presenter really reminds me of Kate Hudson....and then goes onto play stuff straight from the Almost Famous soundtrack.
The guitars are very well made for the money but would benefit greatly from a few years regular playing to bring the brightness down and round out those mids.
Im abt to decide b/w the two but still cant make decision.. Cuz i want both

I played both side by side and GSmini wins big time. The sound on the GT seemed trapped in the box while GSmini projects! I took home GSmini
