I have a 2018 golf R never understand why people delete the rear wiper. Ridiculous, here in the UK it’s essential to see as it’s always raining 😂. Bought the boot poppers. Great job

Yeah same. I guess if you lived in a drier climate, or if I was barely driving it and just showing it off. I drive about 100mi a day in crappy Pittsburgh weather so it's staying on lol. NGL those shocks seem a bit janky too, glad I watched a vid first. I love my mk7.5, only thing I find super annoying though is passenger seat sensor screaming to put seat belt on when I simply have my phone or anything small sitting on it. Less hassle than the mk8 media controls though I guess.
It is hardly essential in the UK, thinking of doing it to my mk 7.5, I have never used the rear wiper personally, and think it is too small and in the way, delete ftw!

I own a white rabbit 7.5, the rear wiper delete looks sooo clean. One of the best quick, affordable mods to make the back end look smoooth

@@crackdog69 What function? Over time the wiper will leave scratches and marks on the window. Leaving you with an arch etched on the window. My car also has a back up camera. With the 3 mirrors, the rear wiper is useless. Water runs right off the back window. Add in some rain x. It's a no brained to me.
You make a good point. Rain X good idea with or without wiper.
Scratched glass is a problem, but I thing this happens because people use cheap wipers and or don’t replace often enough when they are coming apart. Anyway it’s all good. Nice to read ur reply.

I don't mind the regular trunk pop and lift. I love the OBDII mods, especially the trunk remote pop... but my concern is that the REALLY stiff springs will never ease up. So, for now I'm ok with the stock setup. I just wish the GTI came with this feature STOCK... so weird.
are you planning to convert your headlights to projector/led?

Heres what i did: I bought White Vision Halogens from Philips & Osram for my GTI Clubsport MK7 found on my channel! Its more clever because of two reasons conversions can give you more trouble than pleasure if things break or yadayada. Second of its obviously much cheaper! 👍

Oh that hatch pop mod is sweet! Me personally, I wouldn't do the rear wiper delete because the rear wiper comes in handy where I live because of the rain and I had a hatchback before without a rear wiper. The car looks clean though.
I have mine set to turn on if the front wipers are on and I put the car in reverse. I love it.
I don’t understand why someone would want to remove the rear wiper…? Do you not want a clear/clean windshield? Does removing it make the car look better to you?

I just bought a 2020 Mk7.5 GTI S, enjoying your videos so far! I'm not entirely sure your car is black, when the light hits it just right it looks like the Dark Iron Blue Metallic, which is the color I have.
I've got the hatch pop on my sportswagen. I love it... as long as it's not cold outside. It does not work in the winter up here in the North East US. Generally from the end of September until May, the hatch pop will not work correctly. Now that I've had it on for almost two years, it sometimes struggles even in the summer months on a cool day. I'm not trying to throw shade on ECS' products, just giving a little insight for those that might experience winter as I do. When the struts actually fail, I'll buy another set from ECS. I'll never go back to stock struts.
Got the GTD couldn't quiet afford the GTI but still love my car!
Here in South Africa VW is huge and the GTD is more expensive than the GTI

I know it’s probably still too soon to tell but, have you noticed if the helper spring contacts the paint/body? Just from past experience with hood/trunk kits the spring can sometimes contact the body. Just curious thanks.

Excellent intro filming & mods! Iv been thinkin doin the wiper delete, but seems abit to much hassle for me. However the trunk mod seems quite practical, to bad the sound is alittle beta though. Keep them GTI videos coming - From a Clubsport MK7 owner! 😎 👍

i would love to do this to mine, i have a sportwagen and ontop of it not having this of course, my struts only open the hatch halfway once you get it up the first few inches so i may need new ones anyways

Do it dude, Im 20, in college and I wanted the extra space and versatility of a hatchback. The components on a golf feel so much higher in quality compared to other hatches like the mazda 3 or older subarus. Go test drive one I promise you wont regret it.

I got the MQB Tiguan without the auto open/close feature. I wonder if I could mod a pair of struts to do this. They don't offer it on ecs that I've seen

I’m interested on knowing how will this upgrades last in the future in a electronic term.
A lot of them aren’t going to effect the car and majority of the time these features can be unlocked from the dealer, so I doubt It will have any negative effects
I'm surprised the boot/trunk button wasn't coded in from factory. Every golf in the uk including mine has the boot button pop activated, I just doesn't fully open

How long are the die springs thats on the struts?
I used 2 20x10x30 compression springs on my mk6....video on my channel 🤷♂️
Friend had 1 of this on his GTI made the hatch hard as hell to close. Before the hatch was closeable with 1 hand, with this mod u need 2 hand to close it. If that's something u don't want to deal with it don't do this.

I’ve always like this mod for the MK7 GTI, but I haven’t done it solely due to it being over $100 just to do it. If it was $50, then I would, but for $100, just too pricey for something so simple.

I're read multiple accounts of the springs destroying the lock on the trunk so I wouldn't go for that "upgrade".
