As said by organcritic, it's to try and prevent seeded runs. Everytime you die, the game will reset the entire seed for the run, so it's less likely you crafted your own luck. Another reason to that it's required is that through exploiting the "Give Up" option, you can simply keep using that to give the optimal starting boon/hammer, because while technically everything else after that isn't entirely seeded, you're still guaranteeing a certain starting outcome, which makes it seeded.
Proves that the run isnt seeded. A runs seed basically controls the randomness of the game so if the run is seeded you already know which rewards and rooms you will get etc.
Slower dash is a bad debuff to have for a speedrun also the explosion effect from the Moros aspect scales with attack so the attack increase is a bit better than the special even at a lower value
Why was the load time after the first death you showed longer than the wait for Silksong?? Usually the game will load you back into the Crossroads in a fraction of that time...
My PC likes to sometimes randomly really lag with Hades and Hades II for some reason, it's very frustrating. NVME drive, 3070Ti.... gotta be the CPU I guess.
How did Chronos' instakill not hit you during phase two? Seemed to me like you lost your boss shields on phase one, and I didn't see a dodge notification
It is possible to i-frame it with a dash, just difficult. I think I got lucky with the timing more than anything here, I was fully expecting to eat a death to keep DPS up
if you mean pausing: pauses timer while making decisions if you mean why timer stops: it stops in certain rooms. Shops, NPC rooms, between biome rooms, after boss fights, etc
Why do people still up the special dmg more than attack dmg on Moros if attack is your primary source of damage, while the special just activates it? Does special damage affect the "blast" damage? Also, I assume that the "blast" counts as "Attack" in the damage screen, since there's no way regular attacks did so much damage.
I try to balance the boosts, mostly, since specials do a lot of cleanup early on. Hard to figure directly, honestly. Also special boons have higher %s on average, so more significant
@@cgull6980 I wish we had a DPS meter and codex menu mods at this point in time. In my experience, Apollo/Demeter/Aphrodite/Hera all work great on attack, and extra attack speed from Chaos/Hammers/Hermes are really helpful. Moros is my favourite aspect on Flames so far, cos it makes use of both specials and attacks in a nice synergy.
I assume it's because it doesn't slow down the speedrun timer but it DOES slow enemies down, which you do want to be faster for better phasing and etc. Hence Vow of Fury activated. For instance, having to wait for Cerbie to dig up would be much slower if you slowed down time for each omega special channeled in preparation.
Getting smoked for 3 DDs at Scylla hurts
Edit: wow and it didn’t even matter. Holy hell this was amazing.
i wasn’t paying attention, how did they get all of them at the end? the gray ones

bless echo for healing my skill issue
Well done, amazing run!
Also also, doing it with Ignium, that takes some brass balls.
Tbh after the patch ignium actually isn't that bad anymore
Can I ask a dumb question: why do speed runners need to first die and reset before starting their runs?
It proves that the run isn't seeded.

Damn, the way you slay p2 is kinda crazy
Someone explain why he didnt choose the 2nd Boon in Chaos around 6:00 which increase Special dmg?

WAS WAITING FOR MOROS RUNS SOMEWHERE! They've got muchmuchmuch better dps potential now with the attack buff
How much are the shops saving now?
probably close to 10-15 seconds per run? Fields shop and Tartarus shop may be close to 10 seconds on their own, actually...

Why did he not take Hades?
Because if you take hades chamber it spawns more enemies in the next encounters
How did you Cri every single time?
Not every time, just 40%! White antler

how do you start with 25 hp
I started with 30, Hearth Gain took it down 20% to 25
