I had a holiday in Filey this year and naturally I went to Scarborough. I agree Record Revivals is a shop well worth visiting. Did you get to Victor’s Vintage & Vinyl, also in Scarborough? All second hand stuff and run by a friendly old Teddy Boy.
Record Revivals is my favourite record shop. Just the right balance of new and old stuff - great staff and sensible prices. Last time I went in I bought a black and gold Please Please Me so that's blown my record money for a couple of months but well worth it in my opinion. Enjoy your records.
*Arpeggios* Right term but when *Monk* does it, I’m looking for a chunkier word, a whackier metaphor to follow what Monk does down the keyboard. I can’t find the right one off the cuff, & it made my brain hurt looking for it. But something like a tremolo gone off the rails & headed uptown with a genie in a bottle in a brownpaper bag till the turnaround brings him back underground clocking all the downtown stations but not necessarily, as Eric Morecambe told Andre Pevin, in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine, I'll give you that. I went off the rails there myself. So I know there's better phrasing in a better metaphor that someone could take on right here.
Now its Classical Ballet Dancing... Hartlepools answer to Nijinski... no not the horse Mally. . is there nothing you cant do. Visited "Revivals" earlier in the year and picked up probably my 4th or 5th copy of Hoyt Axtons country psych often forgotten gem "My Griffin is Gone"..... WOT A MOVER.. Take care Mally...
