Thank you for watching ☺Even though I technically only had like two steps, I feel like I covered a lot of the basics. Is there anything essential I missed (probably)?
I've been a subscriber for a while... loved the fashion for many years, and have yet to fully finish my 1st coord. I'm taking this as my sign! ♥ thank you :3
I totally agree with the petticoat advice. I definitely rushed toward the main pieces before even getting the stuff necessary to wear those pieces out🤣
I've been watching your content for around a year, I want to say. I always want to see all the tips. I've been in the fashion in an official capacity for 3 years. My first coord was no socks no petty(wish I would have started with my petty) because it was June and I refused to wait. I live in a small town so I wanted to pull the bandaid off and just wear it so I could practice my elevator responses. I was very anxious leaving the house, my husband took me to buy donuts and coffee for my coworkers (very appropriate as I was wearing My coffee time op and beret with necklace and pins from lady sloth). The bagger asked me what I was dressed as and I politely replied that it was just clothes. After that first interaction, the weight off my shoulders left the butterflies ceased. I did finally get the casual cupcake from melikes tea. I need another one that's longer. (I hope santa sees this)
I definitely should've bought my petticoat first..and also did more research. (I bought my first petticoat off of devilinspired in 2019, and the shipping costed more than the petticoat itself lmao. It's an Aurora and Ariel petticoat.. For a beginner, it isn't bad. However, I def want to get a better one soon).
as someone who buys stuff from devilinspired for it's accessibility, you need to be really careful with that site. You probably already know they usually jack up their prices compared to other resellers, but if not, it's always a good idea to check. it's only worth buying from them (for me, at least) when they have their free worldwide shipping, they usually have those every few months for a few weeks. (black friday, christmas, easter and so on, sometimes for as low as 39$ for free shipping) Also, ALWAYS check on other sides (for example, 42lolita) for the fabric composition. for example, some main-pieces, even if its the same dress and just in a different colourway, is made from different fabric, yet devilinspired usually won't tell you that.
