My Kharkiv observations/guesses. The modest strength of the forces sent to take the low hanging fruit tells me that the Russian military has further plans and has significant force in reserve and I expect in a flexible state of readiness. If the information about the Ukrainian counter to the eastern flank are correct I'd expect significant amounts of those reserves to counter flank Ukraine's flanking counter. So to speak.

Dima made a mistake there. He meant to say something stronger than 'damaged', but lacked the vocabulary. He often says 'damaged and destroyed' in his reports about tanks and buildings when he probably should say 'heavily damaged'. Due to its layout and size it is impossible to destroy a normal oil refinery with a few missiles.
It's amazing that the Russians allowed the bridge to be repaired. Because on other destroyed bridges they prevented repairs with attacks, which also destroyed the vehicles that were used to repair the bridge.

The Russians should be using the water ways to get around minefields, using amphibious vehicles at night under the cover of deep broad smoke using satellite navigation devices in each vehicle. My Kharkiv observations/guesses. The modest strength of the forces sent to take the low hanging fruit tells me that the Russian military has further plans and has significant force in reserve and I expect in a flexible state of readiness.
If the information about the Ukrainian counter to the eastern flank are correct I'd expect significant amounts of those reserves to counter flank Ukraine's flanking counter. So to speak.

Dima made a mistake there. He meant to say something stronger than 'damaged', but lacked the vocabulary. He often says 'damaged and destroyed' in his reports about tanks and buildings when he probably should say 'heavily damaged'. Due to its layout and size it is impossible to destroy a normal oil refinery with a few missiles.
The Ukrainians hit one tank in a refinery with a drone and call the whole refinery "destroyed" lol

The Russians should be using the water ways to get around minefields, using amphibious vehicles at night under the cover of deep broad smoke using satellite navigation devices in each vehicle. The noise of the artillery will also help cover the noise of the vehicles. Of course it’s a risky strategy. But it’s something that would be so unexpected that they could get away with it at least the 1st time. Meaning it’s something best done on multiple fronts on the same night, then give it a miss for a good while. Of course for a few weeks previously one would regularly use smoke at dusk & later at night, so the Ukrainians slowly get used to the smoke & eventually dismiss it as a ‘typical things the Russians do when they have nothing better to do’. Especially if huge numbers of smoke shells are distributed with North Korean paint jobs & the explanation that “they sent us a whole bloody train load, so we have to use them up to make space for more deadly ordinance”. Are Russian artillery men trained on doing a rolling barrage at a preset speed? Maybe some training might be required.
