One day I brought a 3 x 3 to school. I brought it out of my bag and this kid said "What is that, a rubik's cube? What purpose does it have to bring it if you can't solve it?" and I said "Well, I would bring it if I could solve it" and he said "yeah right, I bet you five dollars you can't solve it" and I said "deal" A few seconds go buy and I solve it, the kid is like "WOW! You actually solved a rubik's cube!" and I said "Yeah, have over the five bucks, I need a new 2x2" and surely enough, the next day he brought them, and now I have a new 2x2.

I started a cubing trend in my school. I brought a Rubik's brand to AP math one day, and the teacher told me to solve it. I did, and he was amazed. The next week, I saw that the rest of the class had taken up cubing as well. My friend gave me a Megaminx and a 5x5 to solve. It took me a few tutorials, but I solved them and gave them back. I now have a reputation.

Here is a story from last year.
I brought a 2x2 with me to class to solve before class started.
A friend of mine came up to me and said "wow a 2x2 huh those are for kids anyone can solve them"
I said "your right want to solve it"
He took the cube tried to solve it for 3 minutes then proceeded to hand it back to me.
The 5 or so people watching was trying really hard not to laugh and his face was so red.

This actually leads me to bring up how I got my first girlfriend, so here we go.
I was in seventh grade and I was just this kid that was obsessed with the cube and obsessed with band, and whenever I get obsessed with something, I make sure I can do it WELL. So, through dedication and practicing, I got really good at band (the cube part will come in a bit.) And I was invited to try out for the all region band. I practiced the audition music hard for weeks, until I had perfected the pieces. The day of the audition came, and I knew I was allowed to bring anything into my audition room as long as it wasnt an electronic device or liquid/food. So, me being me, I brought my ENTIRE cube collection. I scrambled them all during warm ups (about 11 cubes) and then warmed up for my audition. I had to audition LAST out of my entire group (about 60 performers) and the cycle had to repeat TWICE so we were in there for hours. No food or restroom breaks. I was really bored at one point and took a 9x9 (fitting, I know) and began to solve it. Something like 5 guys and 2 girls attention were caught and all of them were very intrigued. No one was allowed to talk, so I could solve in relative peace. I could see all the looks in their eyes as I solved, and when I did solve it the room was FULL of energy. I looked around proudly tossing it lightly before putting it back in my bag. One of the girls in my audition room that I had caught the attention of (but went to a different school) came up to me and asked me out on a date. My performance went great too. I walked out that day with a date and a first chair audition, as well as keeping all of my puzzles. That was an amazing day, we broke up a few months ago and that's all.

So, I'm just getting into cubing. Starting of with 2x2 and pyraminx cuz they are easy. 3x3 next then mega minx then who knows. So I was in class, the period ended. I took my 2x2, and while walking out of the classroom, solved it. I happened to do the last 3 turns right next to my teacher, and she was like "Wow, having set up so you can solve it right next to me just to make me feel bad because I can't solve it" So I told her to scramble it. She did. I solved in a couple of seconds and then I was told to never bring it back into her classroom.

I recently got my cube stolen and i lost all hope for the cube, i figured if i got it back it would be covered in Cheetos dust and it would take forever to clean, but the next day i got called down to the office only to find, they found the person who stole it. Long story short i got my cube back, but the moral of the story is, even if you lost all hope, things can still change.

I was at a sports and aquatics center waiting for my younger sibling to finish his swimming class, so I tried to pass the time by solving a 3x3 a few times. A little kid ~ 7 years old was watching me and when I solved it he immediately screamed out loud "OH MY GOSH HOW DID YOU DO THAT?" and proceeded to kick his shoes into some display merchandise (maybe because he was just that amazed.)

I was passing out Halloween candy the other night and doing a 6-move scramble on 3x3 so I could solve it in 2 seconds and amaze them. After one of the times, I did some U4s (not expecting him to be paying attention). He said "I know your secret! That thing rotates!"
    Okay. One more.
About a year ago, I was speedsolving Pyraminx outside my school before it started. After seeing the fast turns/ fingertricks, some kid came up and asked me how I was glitching my Rubik's Cube.

So this happened very recently. So I brought a MoYu Yongjun Sulong 3x3 to school. Before I got it fixed, it used to pop. Like, a lot. Anyways, a lot of my friends at school wanted to see it so I'm like, "Sure why not. Here." So I let them scramble/solve it, and all of a sudden the whole cube just EXPLODES. Pieces went everywhere around the classroom and it was a huge mess. Thankfully, I got a ton if help from everyone to get the pieces, one of which was hiding beneath a shelf, and it was put together. I got the popping problem fixed and it never happened since. Just imagine that with a 5x5.

    • @s2erp5ent
      @s2erp5ent 4 роки тому

      It happened. 1 layer bigger.
So one day me and someone else were cubing in class, and he had a cosmic 6x6. (big mistake, he and I didn't know how to solve it, obviously nobody else did either.)
The class started, and when it did, someone scrambled the 6x6. He got mad, but luckily it was a free day so we can use computers in this class. He looked at a tutorial on how to solve a 6x6. I guess he messed up an algorithm, because sure enough, he threw the cube on the floor and it SHATTERED. Not part of it broke off, it literally SHATTERED. Everyone had to pick up all the pieces, and he had to put them in an envelope. It was an 80$ cube. Also, he shouldn't have bought it anyway, because he was probably was just showing off how much money he could spend.

I actually don't have any crazy cubing stories to tell. Just this regular unoriginal non-cuber stuff everyone knows.
Only thing noticeable is probably that cubing helped me getting more respected at school. Before I started cubing I was more like 'the random fat guy' or to some people 'the straber', but now I'm 'the guy that can do something no one else can do', and that feels pretty good (well, there are a few other people who can solve a Rubik's cube at my school, but I'm by far the fastest).

    Couple of stories:
So back in middle school, I had a reputation for being able to solve a Rubik’s cube. This was still quite early in my cuber career so I only had my 3x3 and the Void cube. One day, one of my friends walked up to me with a 2x2 and said, “See if you can solve this.” I half panicked because I didn’t know how much different it would be, but I got lucky and solved it in front of him.
I was in band class my freshman year of high school and I had a Gear Ball with me. Everyone was absolutely shocked at how weirdly it turned. They could not figure it out. So one person scrambled it, gave it to me to solve while I was being timed, and I solved it in like 12 seconds. Everyone just lost their minds.

I brought about half of my cube collection with me to Canada when I went over last summer to meet with some family members. That family has two little kids that are like 2 and 4, and the 4 year old has a strong interest in throwing things and hitting things. It was fine when he played with my Cyclone Boys 3x3 cause I had really tight tensions at the time, but it was NOT okay when he played with my Shengshou 4x4 (AKA the most fragile cube I had back then). Thankfully, all that happened when he unceremoniously flung it into the air was that a few caps fell off, but I swear my heart did not beat for a solid 10 seconds.

I have a story for you:
I was at school and my friend and me always count how often I can salve a cube before the teacher comes.
and there came some random guy and asked if he could try to solve it. and as nice as I am I let him try.
and then he tried to make it look super smart and it also popped, which was the first time that my cube ever popped. and he just ran away. every time he sees me he looks really really scared. so I once came closer to him to tell him that its not that bad and that it happens often, but he again ran away.

I had a stickerless speed cube in class one day and this person walks up and says and I quote "you solve it by peeling the stickers off and rearranging them right?" 😂 and then this one time I had taken the center cap off to change the springs and adjust the tension and this ignorant freshman yells as load as possible "CHEATER!!!" and I'm all like the centers don't change position on a 3x3, because you guys most likely know there will always be a white across from yellow, a red across from orange, and a green across from Blue, not to mention the cube was already solved when I did this, I mean how stupid are the non cubers 😂 and this funny time a guy saw I had my rubik's brand cube 3x3 out in class and he bet me I couldn't solve it in under 5 minutes and 30 seconds later I won the bet and a little cash too 😉😂and one last one I was having a friendly competition with my friend and our my time was literally just 13 milliseconds better than his and I just joked about it because he is my friend 😂 it was pretty funny

I brought a MF5S to school one day and at recess I was solving it on a bench and my 2 best friends ( Ones a girl-Millina and ones a boy-Luka me and Millina are both in 4th and Luka is in 3rd) came over and Millina sat on the bench right next to me, and Luka was standing in front of me and he said to me "WHOA IS THAT A 500X500!?!?!?!?!"
I went to summer camp and I brought my thunderclap, 2x2, and Moyu pyaminx. I was practicing 3x3 WF on the carpet in the cabin and one of the councilors said "Okay, let's take a moment to realize what's happening here." Then he points at my feet.
I got 2 3x3s stolen at school and then were both in my backpack zipped up. Pretty self explanatory.
I went to my best friends house (Nikko) and I was into cubing then (because it was in the summer) and he showed me his shengshou aroura. I tried to solve it and stickers were in the wrong place. "Did you do something with this?" I asked him. Your never gonna belive what he said.
" Yeah, I tried to peel the stickers off,but it didn't work the entire way" Like if you think he should have the colorful pockets " I Just Peel The Stickers Off" shirt.

I brought in a 2x2 to class one day, the next I had a 3x3, the next, everyone expected a 4x4, but that was scrambled and I hadn't learned to solve it then, so I was a disappointment to everyone.

      I had a 5x5 before I had a 4x4, so I probably would've skipped 4x4 day and just go full out 5x5 lol xD

I brang a 2x2 3x3 5x5 7x7 2 school and there was this kid and he had the exact same cubes that i had and we did a relay and I desroyed him. (I Beat him by 5 mins) and every1 was like "wow you can solve all of them" "can i see that" "i bet i could solve in 1 seconds" and all that nonsense.

The reason I like stickerless cubes is because when I hand them to others they don't say "I solve it by peeling off the stickers" and then proceed to do it, it happened once, I won't let it happen again, plus I can just have it in my pocket and the stickers won't get caught in a string or some
