- Hey everyone, are you curious about the different Hobonichi Techo Weeks? Today I thought I would bring you an overview of the Hobonichi Techo Weeks & Weeks Mega & Weeks Mega Sneaker.
I wanted to show you the difference between the three and their many features! Hope you enjoy this video and thank you for supporting my channel. Join me as I walk through the differences between the various Hobonichi Techo Weeks and why you might prefer one over the other!

Edit: The weekly spreads are from December to December. So the entire month of December of the previous year is provided too.
The weeks - all 3 types are available in English from 2023. That is to say, all the Japanese words, quotes etc. will be in English as any regular English language planner. Certain covers may be available in only Japanese or only English, while most are offered with a choice of either English or Japanese.

I love this planner, this year I will do some kind of Journaling on the grid paper opposite of the days where I do very basic planning because I am not working like I used to. If you want to know what the Japanese says just use "translate" on your phone, it works very well.
Yes, this planner is perfect if you do not have a lot to write. I am too lazy to check the translation all the time but those who are interested will find this tip very useful.
I regret buying the regular weeks. I didn't realize the cover was so soft. No matter what I do, mine won't stay open flat. I should have purchased the mega. Lesson learned for sure! Thanks for the great breakdown of differences.
Hey, did you buy the black one I showed in the video? You can try to make it lie flat like I showed in the video.
The regular weeks has the highest number of cover choices, so you don't have to buy a mega if you are looking for a hardbound cover. You can just buy a regular weeks with a hardbound cover next time.
Most of the Weeks covers open flat very easily. I understand it’s mostly the rubbery covers that have trouble laying flat. I’ve used the Weeks four years in a row and haven’t had a problem with the covers.
hobonichi weeks actually have 5 covers! not including mega (which has two versions: regular hardcover and sneakers softcover)
the black line cover shown in the video is one of the softcover options, made of pvc and so it's the cheapest ~$23.
i have a hardcover from 2019 (just the regular in navy) and i think it's the next cheapest at ~$24. it's a fabric texture, still bendable but sturdy enough that I can bring it out with me. the artist collaborations are probably this style too but more expensive at $27-29 if you buy off amazon.
and there's also a new softcover matte version (mint and grape) called the "nuance."
and lastly there are leather covers! (too expensive for me, but some people love them!)
when I used the cover on cover on the sneaker. I cut a piece of paper to fit the cover and no one knew and it looks great. Extra bonus is you can change the paper out as much as you want to have a fresh new look as often as you want.
That is a smart idea. Did you use thicker decorative paper or vellum?

This was a great video. Very informative. I’ve used all three in the past. I’ll be using a mega next year as soon as I can choose a color.

@@writeplando It’s my only planner. My system must be super simple in order to work for me. I use the weeklies mainly for appointments and habit tracking. The memo pages mainly for lists and notes on any special interests I have. In the past I’ve used only the mega in a cover on cover, but I need a separate brain dump notebook. For some reason my brain is very resistant to using the notes pages in my hobo weeks for this purpose. For 2022 I have removed all the unused notes pages from previous years and will be using them as a brain dump notebook. I have purchased a moterm cover which will have my 2022 hobo weeks on one side and my “homemade” brain dump notebook on the other.
