GURPS Traveller, the official alternate universe for Traveller, in which Emperor Strephon, and the Third Imperium, have survived to face new challenges.
Despite what many socially inept people claim, GURPS is easy to learn and play and not that hard to learn to GM. I suppose those with an IQ under 100 would have difficulty, but I've run GURPS for people who weren't the sharpest tools in the shed.
subscriber 95.... couldnt believe i hadnt sub'd you. keep it weird. gurps traveller... never got it because i had traveller. cool cross over.... i got the Paranoia cross over to twillight 2000. cross overs were great for GM's.. (DM's) gurps : atomic horror, star mercs, and starports have been very helpful in our settings good stuff. cool video.
Thank you so much. I just added GURPS Traveller Statports and Far Trader. I'd love GURPS Traveller Starships, but the price on that one has been sky high. The PDFs are readily availablr though. Thanks again for the sub. I have another painting video and game recap coming this week.
I thought Steve Jackson Games gave a good stewardship of Traveller over the time it published them. It was a time when Traveller was struggling to deal with its own edition development and was getting bogged down with clunky systems. However, GURPS: Traveller was always an adaptation to GURPS rules first and foremost without some signature systems - like character generation - that had characterised Classic Traveller games from the past. I could also never get beyond GURPS' use of Imperial units of measurement instead of the original's Metric system use.
Metric vs. Imperial is a fair gripe. I don't worry about it too terribly much. As for character generation, if I am going through the longer generation I would prefer the character not die during generation. Templates help out a whole lot too. Using books like Ground Forces and Star Mercs really increase the playability of the game, and the lore is super deep with the Planetary Survey and Alien Race books. Lots of lore from which to seed your campaign.
@@lauramumma2360 I paid just over twenty, and might have overpaid a bit, but I was anxious and it is in really good shape. The lore alone is worth it, add in the conversion tables and templates and I am very happy.
@@bopaintsminis I think I just got lucky with my purchase. I will be using stuff from it with the adventure I am working on… I need to translate my scribbles now into a legible organized format 😂
I really like Hero. I did not even know there is a Hero Traveller. I will have to get back to you, because I have never seen it. Thanks for the heads up.
@@bopaintsminis I have not been able to find a physical copy in years, but last I saw you could get the complete collection in PDF on CD from Marc Miller's Far Future Enterprises. I'm not even sure if that site is still active.
@@violencesolveseverything2444 Well, I know what I am googling now... I do have a PDF of Star Hero (Hero 5th ed). I have read it, but not played it yet. I presume the Traveller game dovetails into it. Edited: yep, www.farfuture.net/
@@bopaintsminis Star Hero was not required for the commercial version that was released but it was the basis that was used in the creation of Traveller Hero. And you are correct with it being Hero 5th edition.
Thats the spirit I was talking about !
Keep up,the good work, keep the videos coming and let those good times role !
Catch my flies with honey.
Thanks for all of your help.

Everyone that can keep basic rules of civility is welcome at my table, at least once.

I got mine dirt cheap, so I picked it up.
Mine was $24. More than it cost new, but inflation... Plus it is really nice for a twenty year-old book.
It's a WEIRD WAR Traveler. Crazy.
That is coming up with the Ground Forces review.

It’s a great supplement, I am going to be pilfering from it
It is a gem.
I lucked out on what I paid

I have this book. Still didn't read it
I think it's the one I use the most, after Charcters/Campaigns.
