It did score well though. The routine was only like 2 minutes and 20 seconds. The fact that he still got 9th despite not doing ~40 seconds (about 22% of a 3 minute routine's time) worth of tricks shows how strong the stuff that he did do really was.

I think it has to do with Duncan holding the 5A license. YoyoFactory refuses to sponsor any contest with a 5A division because Duncan got mad when they tried selling Spin Top Buttons as counterweights.
He was in a really rough period of his life at that time. He's been reasonably public about some of his life issues, but I'm not gonna go into it, as it's not my life to talk about. But suffice to say, as I said up there, that 2010-2011 was a rough time for him.

Something a lot of people miss is the fact that this freestyle was done in one throw. He did regens for each new combo. One. Throw.
