Well, the choreography was seamlessly smooth and unexpectedly fitting for such an elegant twist on the original piece - but - how the vocals were handled is what concerned me. Now that singer was more than just competent, she had the strength, skill, and ability to hit the big note at the end, but wasn't given the legroom to do so. I understand this take on the piece was more dance orientated obviously yes but was it prerecorded or was she physically there preforming it live in accompaniment? Perhaps she could have stood off set in the background behind a sheer material as at least a silhouette? If for no other reason than just to fill the ensemble up without any of the doubt in the back of the audience's mind that there is no chance that it is leaning towards a karaoke lip syncing kind of dance recital but that it's a full live performance in its entirety? Otherwise it was refreshing and inspirational to see such talent already developed in dancers so young in age. I hope my opinion wasn't offensive. It was only meant to help look at it from another performer's perspective who is still on your team on what the goal is here which I believe making the best live show we can give, right? That hopefully constructive criticism was intended only to be positive in the outcome.
Oh, and I forgot to say I did love the color scheme, lighting, mood, and you couldn't have picked a better shade of purple. I painted my poor man's Porsche of 12 years that very same shade of perfect purple.

+Phuckin' Phylean All the music at dance competitions such as this are pre-recorded for playback by the DJ on duty. Sometimes the dancers mouth the words while performing, especially when the style is musical theater.

+Perfect Dance Videos Oh I apologize I thought the singer was a student as well. I still loved the piece it's just that I do both dance and sing so sometimes it's hard to pick just one or the other.

+Perfect Dance Videos I understand. I'm a big musical theater fan. And I mean real live stage musicals, not the M-T dance style category. I do like the dance category, too, but they are just acting out the song and pretending to sing. There's nothing like the real thing. :D
